My husband and I had used Hertz for decades and I have never had a bad experience with this company. They've always provided us with excellent customer service. I really appreciate this business.

Worst service EVER!!! Paid in full for a 7 passenger vehicle. Modified my reservation prior to check in to 5 passenger. App wouldn't let us check in. Got to counter and they .are me take the 5 passenger but told me no refund for difference. Told us space S9 for ****** Highlander and there was a ********** there. Stuck with wrong car. Was NOT cleaned out, trash inside. No humans to talk to on customer service line. Was ripped off and will make sure to get the word out to NEVER use Hertz!

I am a gold member of the Hertz rental car company. Hertz fraudulently added an extra insurance charge to my bill on Dec 4th. My original reservation clearly shows that I opted out of the extra insurance options- which is the policy at my company. At the gate when checking out- my credit card would not scan in their system. I went back to the reservation desk to provide a different credit card. The man the reservation desk printed a new contract with the new credit card information. I did not notice that he had added the extra insurance charges to the contract. This is a completely deceptive practice. I had a reasonable expectation that the terms of the contract would not change. Despite my attempts to get these charges removed- the Hertz rep stated via ******** messenger that she completed an extensive investigation in about 5 minutes and she determined that the fraudulent charges that they added to my contract are valid. They are more interested in fleecing their Gold member customers than keeping their loyal customers. Do NOT use this rental car company!!! They do not make it easy to speak to anyone and they refuse to allow you to speak to a manager because all of their managers are in meetings. I have routinely used this rental company and the experiences have progressively gotten worse. I will never use the company again.

If you are trying the Lyft Hertz program to become a driver for Lyft, DONT! I paid what was asked of me and in return, I was given a filthy vehicle that died on me after a week. They towed the vehicle but I didn't get a replacement for a cpl ***** Once I did pick up the replacement, the vehicle, that vehicle broke down after 3 days! Now, my security of 550 is being held, they've charged an additional $600 and no one will help me. I've zpoke to multiple different customer service reps and each time I was told they'd help refund me $129 BUT WHERE IS THE REST OF MY MONEY! **** refuses to help me as it is a Hertz problem. I made NO MONEY in either vehicle and the little I did make, **** took it immediately for the price of the car. This is so frustrating, and meanwhile, NO LIVE PERSON WILL SPEAK TO YOU

It was a complete rip-off. I paid in full for the car rental and added the Rental Car Protector III 2019 from Allianz through the *** website. When I picked up the car at the *******************, I was checked in with a Budget rep, and I was surprised that a Hertz representative did not assist me. She asked me if I wanted extended protection, to which I said no; she also asked me if I wanted a bigger car, and I said no. I was charged $476, and I wondered why. She noted that it was for the deposit and that I needed to pay for it. I went ahead and paid for it. She gave me the car rental ticket so I could go to the 4th floor and pick up the car. I have never had a chance to go over the charges for the $476. When I got to the hotel, I called Hezt 800 and asked why they charged me $476. She told me it was only a pending transaction and not to worry about it. When I return the car, I will get it back. I only got about $199 out of the $476. Hertz claims I signed the contract, which I never initialed for the additional charges. They charged me for the loss damage waiver and road services, which I declined. Why would I add them after paying for the *** rental car protection plan? I called the billing department, and the representative was rude and did not even give me a chance to explain. I called again, and ********* told me she would have to call the *********** Hertz rental place to investigate. Im paying double for a service that I declined.

It appears that $168 Million wasn't enough & Hertz wants to pay out even more money (Google 2022 Hetz settlement article by NPR). I'm certain a part of this settlement included language to cease & desist their negligent & harmful practices. I was accused of being in a stolen Hertz vehicle during my rental period; but, I recall Hertz being able to figure out their error over the phone & not requiring me to bring the vehicle back early, etc., so I choose to leave no review vs a poor review & frankly 1 of the employees was so blatantly nasty & unprofessional that it rose to comedic heights. I happened to have a very humorous friend with me the day I returned the never-stolen while in my care vehicle & when he finished talking about them (after we left), I laughed so hard that I felt a tad sorry for their professional limitations....until today. Today, I went to rent a vehicle (from an entirely different location, selected by the body shop) & I was told they can't rent to me because I am on a list of prohibited renters "suspended privileges list" due to my last rental "being stolen" & me giving them difficulty in filing a police report. I do think that the ladies present at this location were fully capable of continuing to give me the awesome service they were providing; until the system flag was discovered. At that point, it was out of their hands, but, I did expect that the area Manager (Roy S******) would be empowered to solve his employee &/or "system" generated problem,, instead, I was told on a Friday to contact "the only person that can help" on Monday. The level of professional & personal inconvenience, humiliation, embarrassment, trauma, & yet unrealized toll this has caused me, my family, & even friends at this point is incredible. My experience with Hertz has been the definition of unprofessional & bush league through and through. The area manager on the other hand needs to have more tools in his tool belt to solve issues.

I rented a car from hertz for business meeting in California. My three day rental was $241 prepaid, but Hertz tacked on an additional $290 for liability, when the cost was supposed to be $45. Total thievery from a company. I will never use Hertz rental car again. Crooked company. Avoid.

Last week, my Hertz account was permanently suspended because someone reported that I threw keys at Hertz associates. This is a complete fabrication, but Hertz won't respond. I rented a car at **************************** on 11/15. I drove directly to my ****** hotel. At about 6:30 p.m., I parked inside the public garage next to the hotel. Before walking away, I double-checked the doors. They were locked, and the keys were in my pocket. I asked the hotel where I parked was correct and was told it was. I did not drive the car that evening or the next day. I returned to the garage on 11/17 to return to the airport, but the car was missing. I thought I was crazy. Did I park elsewhere? The garage attendant and I walked all levels, but the car was gone. Security camera photos show the vehicle entering at 6:29 pm and exiting within a minute of me walking away. I contacted Hertz and DPD. Hertz told me to return to the airport and give the keys to any Hertz representative. At DIA, I found a Hertz shuttle bus. I explained the situation to the driver. She had me give the keys to an associate sitting next to her. I did and left the bus. The next day, I called Hertz to see if I could do more. The sympathetic Hertz rep reassured me. She said DPD provided all the necessary information. She apologized and thanked me for my years of loyalty. I rented a car on 11/19 without issue. However, on 11/21, I was turned away at the *** Hertz exit and told to call 405-***-****. I learned I'm a permanent DNR because I was reportedly "rude and threw keys at Hertz employees." They offered no other details. Fill out a form, and Hertz will respond. Nothing. After 35 years of loyalty, I'm owed a response. Someone is smearing my name. Replacing Hertz is easy and joyful, but my name and reputation need clearing.

I made a reservation for *************** not knowing at the time that there are multiple airports in *******. The Hertz clerk named Alek in the ***************************** airport helped me get a car at the same price without us having to take an Uber to the airport that I had made the reservation. So thankful for him!

Hertz Uber Program is a JOKE they are literally stealing money from Uber drivers. They are claiming there is a glitch but still fraudulently ciphering money from our accounts KNOWING they have a glitch. No one from customer support is doing anything about it.
