Hertz is a terrible company. They provide inaccurate information and dont stand behind their company or people. No one is accountable for their actions. I rate them 0. Do not rent from them you will be inconvenienced and disappointed with everyone you work with or speak with.

Horrible experience!!! Wanted other Gold Customers to know Hertz does NOT reward loyalty. Our car was pre-rented originally (with drop off fee-included) from FLL to MIA. Then our airline changed outbound flight from MIA to FLL. We picked up car at FLL after cruise (btw, Hertz has no port shuttle service like other companies; had to take taxi to FLL) Requested at pickup to drop off car back at FLL next day; agent said "no can do". Called corporate office, same line; she added that if we dropped off car at FLL (less than 20h later, we would be charged for every day that car was not at MIA. We asked to speak with supervisor, now on hold almost 1 hr- so we gave up. We drove car that afternoon (6h after pickup) to MIA Hertz dropoff, then rented an Avis (1/2 Hertz original price), one way back to FLL (their agent said they are not inflexible like Hertz). The ordeal cost us our last sunny vacation day -on phones, driving back and forth, & waiting in rental car lines. Hertz no longer has our business.- Linda S.

I needed a rental while my car was being repaired. Hertz offered the best rate online. Not knowing just how long I would need my car (after all, major repairs are unpredictable with supply chain issues), I prepaid for a two week rental. Repairs were completed in one week and one day. Upon returning the rental, I was told I would have to talk to national customer service to see if a refund or credit on a future rental could be issued. Customer service said, no, you reservation is a contract and that no refunds are possible. It is absurd that $358.99 has been charged to my credit card when the rental cost was ultimately $180.00. Can you say unjust enrichment? I will never rent another vehicle from Hertz in my life. If I could leave zero stars I would.

Hertz on Foothill Blvd is a bunch of scam artists I rented a midsize gas powerd car from Perkspot a company discount perk. What I got was an electric Chevy Bolt.People on vacation don't want to spend 1 to 2 hours charging a vehicle I tried to return it but they said all they had were electric vehicles if that's the position on commiefornia idiot rules I'll try another car rental agency if they all go electric I'll stay out of that communist state. The sad part is the stupid employees told me I could charge it @ home with no charging cable.A charging cable from GM costs $179.00 plus needs fitment whatever that costs and a place to plug it in.And forget public charges it's not like you can insert a credit card nooo that's too easy there are different companies that own the charges and want you to download there App.Only problem with that is you have to give each one your personal information like nothing ever gets hacked in commiefornia.

False charges after the rental. I had declined the unlimited tolls option because I had a long rental and would only pass a few tolled roads. Well after the rental car was returned I was charged for the maximum amount on the unlimited toll plan, $139.95. I have tried calling Hertz but the customer service line has no humans and automatically hangs up on you. The web page does not have any options on this and requires fields that are not on the invoice sent to the customer which means it is rejected. This is clearly a carefully crafted strategy based on the webpage, they ensure it is impossible to fill out the form so it is automatically rejected.

We rented a compact SUV from Hertz at Manchester airport UK 2019 for 31 days for our annual trip home to visit family. Everything went well with the vehicle on pick and return...well we thought. Once we had returned home to Florida, we got a bill from Hertz asking for more money above our agreed contract. Hertz stated that we had taken our rental car back to Manchester airport in the middle of the rental period, and completed a new contract which was to be billed at a much higher rate. This was not true, and the date they accuse us of going back to Manchester airport, we were in the Republic of Ireland, so it was physically impossible and a blatant lie by Hertz staff. The Hertz rental was left parked on the driveway of family in England during this time. Why would we drive 2 hours back to the airport to change a contract that would cost us hundreds of pounds more when you could change a contract on the phone or online? We had to fight this with support from our American Express team and our attorneys. We did win our battle and Hertz retreated into their hole without even an apology as they knew they were trying to scam us. In closing, Hertz are an unethical, money driven company with no concern for their customers. We will never rent with this company again even if the rates are favorable. I recommend that nobody does business with this company for vehicle rentals, if you do, buyer beware.

NEVER AGAIN. Spoke with 3 different representatives all of whom gave different information when posed with the exact same questions about pricing and change in drop-off location. Charged $270 when the vehicle was reserved and then another $800 on the day of drop-off (dropped off 2 days early due to a family emergency) for a compact car. This is a horrible company. I will never use Hertz again.

Just need to share my experience so others are aware of how much of a scam this company can be. I have used Hertz in the past, and I understand mistakes can be made, but when they do not correct them then make them even worse, this is where my issues lie.I rented a car at the end of July into August on a trip. When we returned from the trip, we found out we were charged for an extra driver and a ski rack that we didn't have on the car and also never asked for. It was about $200 in charges.I called 5 times over the next 3 weeks to resolve this, but they were not helpful and just told me a supervisor would call me back. I never got 1 returned call from a supervisor. I ended up contacting my credit card company to get that portion of the amount removed from the card with proof showing no ski rack and no extra driver. Now, I just got a letter in the mail from a DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY saying I owe Hertz money. What?! First off, if you THINK I owe you money, maybe contact me before sending it to an agency so we can get this fixed before it hurts my credit. Now I have to deal with Hertz again to get this removed so it does not hurt my credit when it's their error. This is 5 months after the incident and I am still dealing with this. Hertz "says" they are removing it from the account and will tell the agency it's resolved, but who even knows at this point.

Big name car rental not necessarily honest. I joined Hertz Gold and AAA Premium for the One Free Day car rental both companies boast of as a AAA benefit. Upon trying to use the benefit. Neither Hertz or AAA knew anything about the benefit and took turns sending me back and forth between the two companies. I sent an email to and eventually received response from AAA even though Hertz.com boasts the benefit. The response follows:"Thank you for reaching out to AAA. The free rental day with Hertz can only be used in conjunction with a road service call (one of our road service counselors would connect you to our dedicated Hertz line during your call if a your car will not be available): Join AAA Today | AAA Northeast Please let us know if we can be of further assistance."Both companies should are dishonest as it appears the one free day is only associated road service call. A condition mention not states anywhere in the small print.
