1 starCompletely inept customer service and desk agents, and fraudulent business practices. I made a reservation for a ****** Outback for my daughter and my ski trip, adding my daughter as the driver. When she arrived to pick up the car at the airport, they told her they didn't have that car I reserved, and that they weren't sure they could get her in a comparable all wheel drive vehicle. They noticed the name on the credit card wasn't hers, and said she had to step aside and call customer service for assistance. The customer service agent told her the only way to change the credit card was to cancel the reservation I made and create a new one in her name. She got back in line and informed the desk agent. They told her they canceled the reservation, and made a new one for her using her credit card. They then told her to wait until they could find a car. Twice they said they had a car for her, only to get turned away at the gate because it had a hold on it. Two and a half hours later, she was finally able to leave with a vehicle, with the promise that they would comp her a tank of gas for the mix up. Not only did they charge her $9.99 per gallon for gas on the final receipt, they also charged my credit card the full amount of the reservation I made.Review fromMorgan S

1 starI think this is the first review of anything I have ever written, but felt compelled to because I was so frustrated with my HERTZ experience. I had declined to have insurance added to my rental and there is a record of this on my original reservation. However, once at the rental, the Hertz representative added insurance to my receipt even after I verbally said I wanted to decline. I signed without knowning this additional and unwanted charge had been added. I called Hertz and asked them to remove the charge and they said the charge was valid and there was nothing they could do. Very sad to read many reviews saying the same thing. It's unique to see such a low customer service rating and yet the company continues to do the practice that earns them such a low rating (e.g., charging for services the customer never asked for). ********************** can keep my $40 that they wrongfully stole and in exchange I won't ever rent a car from them again - doesn't seem like the best business practice for HERTZ, but I'll leave that to them! 1 starI had a screaming toddler in my hand. Told these people 2-3 times I did not want the 35$ a day insurance, my personal insurance covers it.They give me the thing to sign. I don't notice the astronomical price on the receipt until a couple weeks later on my statement. Called to complain, "nothing we can do you signed the contract". Yeah but your employee misrepresented what was in the contract when I asked multiple times not to pay for the insurance.Ok fine.We go to look at the car seats I had just rented. They only have seats for kids up to 20lbs and 40+lbs. So I ask WTH my kid is 30?! Am told this is all they have. At this point there is no other option. Rental services are booked, this is ********** and the wife take the seat, go directly to a Target, buy a proper car seat and use that for the trip. When I tried to refund that they said the same ****.Honestly worst rental experience I've ever had and I've used many of the "economy" companies, at least they give a c*** Hertz doesn't, don't use Hertz.Review fromKatie B

1 starWorst rental experience Ive ever had. Had to be towed, missed my flight, and all of this while trying to visit family for the holidays with my four year old. In the end nothing was done to reach back out although this was promised. The only human that actually acknowledged this was a terrible situation also did nothing to help remedy it and said I had to call corporate (corporate assured me I needed to speak with the actual rental car branch). So me and my four year old sat alone with no help figuring out new flights, a hotel and worst of all transportation to this hotel. They said no to a shuttle and had little empathy as I sat there crying by myself with a car seat 4 suitcases and a little. If you are a family run far away. Also I am a gold plus hertz member and my parents have been using hertz forever. They canceled every single one of their reservations and went with enterprise (it was less money as well). I cannot believe this company has let its standards fall so low that they are losing all their customers because of terrible service. ****** learned and hundreds lost.Review fromBevi C

1 starI rented a vehicle at the hertz in ******* **. To say that the 2 girls that work there need a course on customer service is an understatement. Talking about customers in a derogatory manner in front of other customers, the car I was given was filthy. I had to stop at a supermarket to buy some windex and paper towels to clean the windows that were soo dirty I couldnt see.I had to go exchange the car at another location, the people at the other location treated us with respect and gave us a vehicle that was immaculate.Review fromReynier P

Primero el precio que te colocan no es el precio real de la renta , cuando yo comenze rente un Tesla por el valor de $ 442 pero resulta que me cobraron un da $ 350 y al otro da $ 200 , y para resumir ya entregue un Jeep Compass que fue por una semana y ahora que ya han pasado dos semanas me siguen cobrando la renta del Jeep y los toll multiplicados por **** ?? *** **** **********Review fromDorrell A

1 starI was involved in an accident with a hertz customer on 10/28/23 The ********************** customer was driving at a dangerous speed and struck my vehicle and 3 other vehicles. I filed a claim on 10/30 and it has not been addressed yet . I have called the claims department multiple times and asked for a supervisor multiple times and I have not gotten a response yet. This is a huge convenience to me and my life ..this has affected me dramatically. I need my car to transport my family and go on with my daily commute. Its not fair that someone can be so reckless and almost kill others on the road and the insurance company isnt doing anything about it . If this is how you treat human beings you shouldnt be the company to represent the customers who are insured by you. I need to be indemnified. My care isnt drivable . I had to pay for Ubers and rentals and towing and storage fees all because HERTZ hasnt dont its due diligence to honor or even address my claim . To be ignored like this will nerve wrecking especially for something that was not my fault . And to think that lives could have been taken due to the HERTZ drivers negligence and nothing has been done yet is an even bigger atrocity. I hope my complaint doesnt fall on deaf ears like the many other complaints Ive made since this claim has been filed.Review fromMax A

1 starThe worst company ever! Not surprised they have 1 star over here. They were supposed to be bankrupts, and that is the truly best place to this company just to get out of this world, but involving ***** schemes helped them to survive. Unfortunately, they scammed me too. Hertz decided to charge me $1548.31 in 6 month after the rental period ended. I got an autopay every week and i have proves that i paid weekly. They made up reciepts, show fake profs and they do not cate about anything at all because they know no one can punish them. But i will. I am already filing a lawsuit in a small claim court for fraud, because i was a long time customer brought them a lot of money, but they treat their customers like this. They are stealing money from uber drivers and i already know 5 people like that. Nothing new, without scamming their customers they wont be able to survive on the market. After my personal case i will be filing a group lawsuit against Hertz and Uber. **************** does not exists and it is the worst i've ever seen in my life.Review fromeric A

1 starWorst customer service and experience with **********************. I reserved a intermediate suv six days in advance. When I go to the ****** location I find out there is no vehicle there and the representative at that location told me he didn't know when one would be available. so I ask him what i can do and he doesn't even know and tells me maybe try the *** location but does tell me they are the one's that location get from. so drive to that location and again same response no cars available and still get told all I can do is wait or file a complaint. so i call ****** location back around 1 pm and check still no vehicle. so i called hertz reservations and tell them and all I get told is I needed to speak with the location of pick-up. So i called another number which I thought was a higher customer service line and talk to a guy and after i tell him my problem which was like 1 minute speech he then tells me Oh this is the billing deptment you need to talk to the location. this is BS now. so I call **** back at the ****** location again to check and still the suv I reserved is still a no show but tells me they dropped off a ****** Versa a small car, Not the vehicle I needed. Unacceptable now!! So I waited all day for a car until %pm which is closing time for that location. On top of all this I had a hotel reservation in another state which now i didn't get to make check-in and cost me ****** dollars no-show fee cause i had to get another vehicle rented for the next day to drive. which cost me 40 dollars more now. When i write to Hertz to complain about my situation they put my in all I get back in response was we are sorry you had this experience. They have not tried to help in anyway and just put it off as it it was all my fault.. this is truly unacceptable.. Hertz sucks!
