      On there confirmation email we received it clearly states a ****** dollar deposit on car rental. When you arrive at the location suddenly the deposit is 25% more then the confirmation email states and after you show them the email all they is ohh nothing we can do anyway it feels like the company is a total rip off I don't know if the location was trying to steal money from customers or not but real fishy business tatics

      Customer service number refuses to give you a live agent tells you to go to the website to submit a complaint… Was trapped in the Sacramento airport rental a lot for over 30 minutes today because the customers credit card wasn’t working … not because their credit card reader wasn’t working but because a customer couldn’t pay so we all had to suffer no manager to come help rude attendant could care less angry people everywhere, horns honking, try to call customer service want you to go automated they could care less about you.

      ****** Mexico Hertz specifically and Hertz in general: 1) My son-in-law rented online two full-size cars for he and I to drive 8 family members while on vacation in Mexico. When we arrived 45 minutes late they had given them away even though grace period is 2 hours. 2) We had reserved two infant seats but they had none. Had to go to a store in ****** to buy. 3) They had no other cars like what we reserved. Instead of full-size, automatic transmission cars, we got two intermediate size cars that were manual transmission. 4) One car would not lock, the spare tire was missing and the rack to hold it under the car occasionally came loose and car had to be stopped to reattach it, center console missing, driver’s seat recline did not hold. The other car continuously displayed the “low tire pressure” icon. 5) We were charged almost double from the original reservations and required to pay for mandatory insurance before we could take the cars. This was not mentioned in the reservation. 6) The reserved price for the cars were $719.37 and $580.17. We wound up paying $1205.78 and $1022.03. 7) There were no cars available from other agencies and we had to pay this or 8 of us would have been stranded on vacation with no transportation. This location is a licensee so Hertz corporate will not help. The ****** Hertz will not resolve the dispute. Stay away from the ****** Hertz! Hertz should make sure their licensees meet the standards to represent their corporate image that they supposedly want. I will never do business with any Hertz location again.

      If I could give negative stars I would! Hertz is a complete joke and I will never rent from them again. I went through Priceline to rent the car and declined all additional coverage. When we picked up the car, all the coverage was unknowingly added to the receipt. Unknowingly ( because we'd prepaid) we left with the car. When we got to our destination and looked at the receipt we noticed the HUNDREDS of dollars of additional charges. We immediately called and they told us the contract was binding and it could not be changed unless we came back to the rental location. At this point we were not close to the rental facility and on a tight schedule to get to the event we were in town for. When we returned the car at the end of our trip and had our receipt emailed to us (days later) there were even more charges. We again immediately called and were told nothing could be done the contract with valid and binding. We will NEVER use Hertz again! Our bill ended up being 4 times what the amount we agreed to and prepaid and they never took accountability for all the additional charges that we had NOT agreed to. Horrible experience.

      After paying for the reservation in full, after getting to the hertz dealership, was charged an extra $700 to use a debit card, and told to wait over 15 minutes for a car. Will never be using Hertz again.

      I received a rental through my insurance hertz not only took money from my account but when I called to speak to a supervisor 3 reps hung up on me and the 4th told me I couldnt speak to a supervisor because I had no reason to speak to one then one ******* finally decides to transfer me over no supervisor is available mind you Ive been calling since 9 am

      Dear Hertz, I am a gold member. I rented a compact/mid size car 1/10/24 - 1/16/24 @ LAX. I chose an Elantra and was driving late on the 405 N when I felt the car pulling to the right. That is very dangerous & not safe in Los Angeles. I came in town to work the Emmy awards and was working long hours. I called the Hertz LAX location to inquire about returning my car - but only got the recording. I was staying near Burbank airport & stopped by that Hertz location. They said I could. The only choice for compact was a Mirage in the Gold row. The Mirage was dirty and had not been washed. The motor was very loud and did not sound safe and the check engine light came on as I got on the freeway. The tire had no hub caps and looked like 4 spares. It was not safe. I was working very long hours on the show & wasn’t able to return for a safe car ( again). I paid a lot of money for this rental & was not satisfied with your service. I have been a Gold member for many years. I tried calling LAX to speak to someone - but no one answers the phone. The mailbox is full so you cannot leave a message. So I am emailing hertz to get compensation for this rental. Please contact me. This rental was unacceptable jeopardizing my safety.

      Absolute horror. First, I reserved a rental that was supposed to be an M6 or equivalent for Uber and they gave me something much smaller. Second, when I was done and turned the car back in after spending 2 hours vacuuming it out they tried telling me it wasn't clean because some pet hair remained. This was going to be a $500 fee ... for something that a lint roller fixed in 20 minutes. If that's not bad enough even after I returned the car they then called me and claimed it was returned with no key though the worker had both the key and my rental agreement when I left the property. To continue thier bad practice I have further recieved calls saying I haven't returned the car and that my rental is overdue, though I returned the car a day early. And they continue to try to take funds from my account, time to change my bank card. Worst of the worst, scandals, thieves and downright horrible experience. They will do anything to take your money and try to make it your fault. Will never use again and recommend no one else uses them either, don't get caught in their hustle.

      I would suggest nobody going to Hertz. They literally rob people I spent over $1000 for two weeks when that’s not what I got quoted over the phone to extend my rental so I paid $1400 for a little bit over two weeks and then another time I rented a car they only had Teslas both times they only had electric cars that I had to take and then they charge me $600 for seven days because I had a Tesla that I didn’t want, Hertz is terrible awful awful I would never run from them. I have a breakfast place and I have a hurt right beside me and I will make sure I tell everybody not to go there.
