      Rented a car from the Hertz office at their Fort Lauderdale operation. I specifically asked to waive all optional insurance, but agreed to the added daily charge for a toll payment pass. Upon returning the car supplemental insurance of over $250 charge was added to my bill. Customer service would not adjust the bill citing the fact that I had agreed to the charges through the pin pad. There was no consideration to the fact I had specifically asked for no supplemental insurance. 1 star. If I could give 0 stars I would.

      Hertz employees at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport are rude. We tried to rent a mini van one way to another Hertz in Michigan. We didn’t have the physical credit card on us and they wouldn’t accept our business debit card. We even reserved online and we were still denied. They didn’t offer a soft credit check. Their demeanor was condescending. Even laughed at my husband because of his accent and he had his cowboy hat on so it wouldn’t get damaged on the flight. My teen and adult daughters witnessed their ridicule and attitude. Luckily Avis helped us out. Did a soft credit check and accepted our physical debit card for a one way travel, with a smile and willingness to help. Take classes Hertz, you lost a costumer and our money.

      ******** ******** illegal actions are still affecting me years later. Hertz will not let me rent cars or address their former employee actions. I am left with the bad credit and reputation.

      Beware of Hidden Charges and Deception: Disappointing Experience with Hertz Rental Car at Nashville TN Airport As a loyal member of Hertz's Gold Plus Rewards President's Circle, I had always expected a seamless and hassle-free experience with them. However, my recent encounter at the Nashville TN Airport branch left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. First and foremost, upon arriving at the rental counter, I was dismayed to find that I was not given the option to choose my vehicle, as I had been in the past. Instead, I was simply handed keys without any consideration for my preferences or needs. This lack of personalized service was a stark departure from my previous experiences with Hertz. To make matters worse, upon receiving my final bill, I was shocked to discover a charge of $615 that had not been previously agreed upon. Despite being a President's Circle member, I was subjected to this exorbitant “upgrade” fee without any justification. Apparently you are charged for the guaranteed one-car class upgrade that is listed as a perk. Adding insult to injury, my attempts to contact a live agent to address these issues were met with frustration. Every phone number I called directed me to the Hertz app or website, leaving me unable to speak with a real person to resolve my concerns. Overall, my experience with Hertz at the Nashville TN Airport was extremely disappointing. As a loyal customer, I expect better treatment and transparency, especially as a member of the President's Circle. Moving forward, I will be exploring other rental car options and cannot recommend Hertz at this location to fellow travelers or my company’s travel department.

      Worst customer service. Nearly impossible to get a human on the phone and when you do they put you on hold for 15 minutes. Just wanted to extend my reservation and couldn't do it online because the website wasn't working. Apparently, the customer service isn't working either.

      I rented from hertz to do uber for about two months. The first month was great. I paid every transaction for the amount that was agreed upon. The 2nd month , completely different scenario. Hertz auto payment sends an text to inform how much the amount is . I paid rue amount from auto pay, then a few days later my account is in the negative for a completely different amount that I had no idea existed. I finished the contract, paid the amount that is agreed upon then a few days later, my account goes in the negative again. They never processed the charge until 2 days later. The thing is, I paid the amount in the office and it came right out of account. I called my bank and they informed me that along with that charge. Hertz us charging me a whole different amount that I never knew about.

      I reserved a SUV on 1/29 to be picked up in Rockford IL on 2/06. The morning of the reservation I changed picked time to later on that evening. My husband is sick with leukemia he was sick from treatment and needed time. At the time I changed pickup, I was asked if I wanted to upgrade to a larger SUV. I accepted knowing it would be even better for travel with my husband, he tires easily and needs to stretch out. We are headed to be with my daughter who is having surgery. When I arrived at the counter I was told I didn't have a reservation. I told them I had just spoken to customer service and I knew I did have one I had a reservation number. They didn't care to have it. Over 2 hours later we end up with a smaller car. This is unacceptable! No apologies, no difference in price, or an offer to get a SUV at a different location! My husband is sick as he's cramped in the car, it smells of smoke and we can't get ahold of customer service. We left messages on Facebook as well as a chat. I hope we're contacted and given a choice to pick up what we reserved and paid for! Then the fact that we had enough points to have 2 days free disappeared from our account? We received them in Oct 20, it's not been a year. I am so disappointed in Hertz, the rudeness of the employees at the pickup location, this car.. by the way maybe ask your employees what was funny about my husband's leukemia? This makes me cry as I write it.. words can't describe how I am feeling..

      Hertz has scam me for the last time. Upon renting I was advised of my total and deposit prior to the rental. Without knowledge once returning the rental an platepass charge was added to my rental for $14.99 per day which total to an additional $119. After discussing this with the worker she acknowledged it was a mistake made and I’ll receive a refund but I’ll have to speak with customer service. After speaking with them, it was mentioned nothing could be done about it and I’ll have to accept the charges. Which was completely unacceptable, I’m in the state of Saint Louis where there’s no toll fees but I was charge $119 for something I didn’t accept nor use. After reading other reviews I saw that other were also charged platepass without knowledge. I truly wish something could be done about the ripoff Hertz are doing. Previous I rented from Hertz and was charged and additional $400 smokers fee and I don’t even smoke. But explaining this to a money hungry company also results to the consumers having to suffer the bill.

      Hertz is a scam and a rip off. I reserved a vehicle from them. Paid in advance and when I arrived to pick up the vehicle they double charged my credit card. They didn't even have a vehicle for me when I did arive and ended up with an unacceptable vehicle. When I contacted them on the phone the person could not speak clear English and I was informed to "just deal with it" that what is done is done and nothing can be done about it.

      I seriously never experienced this type of behavior of employees including manager before at Hertz I have rented out vehicles from hertz ages And sadly what I was informed they don’t keep records prior rental history. Anytime rental agreements closes and your name clears with it together Loyalty programs are scams Long story short I was car lesss at some point after losing my job I had to drive Uber in the meantime and use their program drive rental vehicle through Uber And this location was closest to me Since day 1 car I booked online and confirmed over the phone wasn’t available and manager said he doesn’t have time for me Have better things to do When I rebooked other location further away 10 miles away manager came to me and said that they bringing the vehicle But I had to wait seriously for 4 hours and 25 min And what I get in the end the car isn’t properly operating and on the tires edge had holes I came back next day and everyone was saying that I signed up for it so it is my responsibility to take this vehicle to the mechanic’s Basically I was doing their jobs and they won’t switch the car I called to customer service line no help There is no communication between branch and online services my first week I drove couple of days because whoever orders Uber they complain about the vehicle Right after 5th day I got a call to switch the vehicle and agent is created new agreement and since then I’ve been driving the car I called to extend the rental agreement and whoever talking to me from hertz they said my account is fine After taking car back I was billed 3000 for their negligence and I didn’t even earned 3000 And today I called to billing department and talked with agent who is basically hang up on me second one I requested to talk with supervisor and she sounded like the very first agent I spoke to but she (Jenny) 5551 claims that she was the only person who is in charge of the company and won’t give any care of my concerns On recorded line
