I rented a car from Hertz at the ***************************** on March 4, 2024. My reservation for this date was made more than a week in advance. On the day of my pickup, around 10pm, when i arrived to Hertz, it was purely chaotic. There was a very long line of customers waiting on vehicles. We were told that everyone would have to wait because they were still cleaning the vehicles and no vehicles were ready at this time. I asked if I had to wait because I was a Gold member. I was told yes. So this was an issue to me because Gold member status meant nothing. Eventually I was given an electric Telsa. Nothing was explained to me about how to use the vehicle. Its battery percentage was on 92%. The next day, I drove the vehicle to my business meeting, and I noticed the battery life was going down. I made it to the middle of nowhere. I called Hertz and advised what was going on with the vehicle and that they just gave me the vehicle without instructions. Because I was not near a charging station, I had to sit on the side of the road for over 4 hours. Hertz eventually sent a tow. I was advised by the representative that I would not be charged for the tow. On March 6, 2024, my account was charged $664 by Hertz. Hertz took no accountability in this matter. Whenever I call and ask to speak to someone in billing, I'm told that I need to file a complaint on the Hertz website.

Horrible experience! Not only was I over charged but when I contacted their customer care I was sent repeated emails telling me how much they strive to provide the best service and then sending me multiple emails that were condescending and only stated that I was not overcharged with no other explanation or conversations. When I tried to explain how one clerk quoted one rate and then I was charged a higher rate with a different clerk and never once told that there would be an additional charge for adding an extra day they just keep repeating that their charges were correct. Save your time and money and do business with a company that will actually listen to you and explain why they think their charges are correct instead of just insisting over and over again that they are, end of story.

Allow me to enlighten all of Hertz potential customers that you are trying to reach with your commercials and "feel good" posts. They just ripped me off by charging me 4x's the amount of the rental car rate. I have been trying to get a hold of someone there for the past three days to no avail. Today, after leaving a scathing review on Google Maps leading people to their location, I was told to copy a link and I would be taken to a chat where someone would help me. After chatting with three different people (all the responses came from different people) I was asked if I could provide a photo of my original rate. When I told her no, that I had no idea it would be necessary to do such a thing, I was quickly told "I am sorry, without that we are unable to further advise - Amanda" WHAT???? Don't rent from this company. They are scammers. This was just ONE of the things that happened with this whole incident. My whole experience started off with them making me wait (with many others) TWO HOURS for my car. I got off my plane and had somewhere to be and they made me late....with no apology or compensation to make it right. This place is a joke. I will be leaving scathing reviews of your company all over the Web. Anywhere I can.

Hertz Rental at ************************************************************************* has very poor service. Their employee ******* had an very bad attitude, had given me a dirty car and had poor maintenance. When this car arrived from the last renter it obviously was not checked out but she rented it out to me anyways without being properly checked. The tire pressure light was on and the windshield wipers didn't work correctly. When I brought this to her and another employee next to her attention I was told by ******* that I was an liar. Even though she took the car back to get somewhat cleaned she still had an horrible attitude the entire time. Also there was another guy there complaining about his car being sent dirty to him as well. I don't recommend anyone to go to this Hertz location.

I rented from ATL international. I reserved a class c car through sap concur. The lady at the desk was unbelievably unprofessional and rude. After trying to deny my rental her boss made her. Somehow during this period my reservation for a class c was changed to renting a class F. I went and picked a class c car out and was charged an extra $400 for an upgrade. After calling hertz and attempting to resolve this their customer service deemed it "a valid charge" and refused to refund it. I will never rent from hertz again after 5 years of using only them. They can have my points I wouldn't trust them not to attempt to scam me for using loyalty points.

I rented a car from Hertz at the Denver International Airport on Feb 6, 2024 as part of official government travel and received a receipt indicating the cost would be $114.74. At the time of checkout, the car's gas tank indicated less than 1/4 tank which was acknowledged by the company when I checked out of the lot. I returned the vehicle on time on Feb 8, 2024 with the gas tank at about 60% full. I will say that due to the location of the Denver Airport, getting a car without much fuel in the gas tank was an issue. There was no damage or any other issues with the car at the time it was checked in. However, the billing on my government credit card was for $121.54. I had some issues because of the government's reimbursement policies being based on submitting receipts. Although the amount is relatively small, I feel I am justified in wanting an explanation for the additional costs. On the Hertz website, there is a mechanism to contact them with questions with a promise that an inquiry will be responded to within 3 to 5 days. I have submitted requests for information on this billing 3 times on the website and to my knowledge have received no response. I have checked my spam folder and not found a response there either. I would highly caution people about possible hidden fees when renting cars from Hertz.

I had the worst experience ever with Hertz Car Rental - **************************. I booked a rental car through Expedia, but when I went to the reception, the staff showed me a higher price and rushed me to sign. She said my booking didn't come with insurance and that this price included insurance. I have vehicle insurance already and asked her if I still had to buy insurance when I rented a car. She had a very bad attitude and said, " You dont know American law."I had to call my husband, and my husband verified with her that this was optional, and we didn't want it. She seemed very mad when I told her my hotel was only 4 mins away, and she said: "Everything can happen within the 4 minutes." I feel it was very rude and that they tried to scam customers out of money with unnecessary insurance. I also felt that they were discriminatory towards people who are not native speakers. Also, when picking up the car, due to the long wait, another staff member (she was the only one nice to me) wrote her name and told me could return the car without having to refill the tank. I showed this information to the staff who received my car key, but Hertz still charged me a gas fee. This place is not organized, and they try to scam money in any way possible. The staff is rude and unprofessional, and I am ready to report this to BBB and dispute the transaction.

Bait and switch pricing from online reservation, ***************** location site technicians lack integrity and lie about account adjustments made to appease you after 2+ hours trying to get a car even similar to what you had reserved; billing dispute when charged incorrectly was impossible with useless chat feature, no email ********* ******* customer service seemingly staffed by only ESL speakers with incomprehensible English combined with useless transfer loops; ****************** agrees to refund contested charges on credit card months later (when credit company contacts them), then they send your 'past due' balance to collections agency without notice.
