Hertz is the absolutely worst rental company. They have horrible customer service and they do not give you any deals they tell you they will. We had our first bad experience in New Orleans. The rental store closed before our pickup time. We then had to go to the air port and pay triple the amount for our rental. From that we got a measly $75 certificate. Fast forward to us renting in Florida, we try to use the certificate after calling customer service to ensure we could use it at the location. Surprise, big nope, they won’t let us use it(although the people at that location were extremely nice in person and reissued our certificate because it would have expired) So a long phone call later and we have some points to go along with our rental. Try to use them online, won’t work. So again stuck with the horrible customer service and I make my booking using points. Except the guy I talked to didn’t actually make the reservation after repeatedly telling me he did and we’d be receiving an email confirmation. So I call again. They claim to listen to the recording and call me a liar that he didn’t tell me the price he said. I wrote every single price of the call down from initial, to new, to after discounts to after taxes and fees. Spend more money and go with a rental company that has more sense than Hertz does.

This is my first and last time renting from Hertz. I was disappointed with the service I received from the Hertz *************** Airport staff at the registration desk. They could have been more friendly and helpful, and their behavior did not reflect positively on your organization. Besides, I was given the wrong parking space to pick up my rental car, which needed to be clarified.I declined the Fuel Purchase option three times, but unfortunately, the charge was still added to my bill. I never approved the fuel purchase option, and it's unethical (fraud) to add charges to customers' bills without their consent. This has made me lose trust in Hertz (Airport) as a business, and I am considering reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. When I returned the vehicle full, the staff gave me different answers about the fuel purchase option. I want a refund of $49.

Austin, TX E 10th Street Location: Hello! I reserved (with a CONFIRMATION) a $62 car for 1 day back on Feb 15, 2024 to get me from Austin, TX to Fredricksburg, TX for the eclipse (90min drive) flying in from Boston, MA. I was left a Voice Mail March 21, 2024 at 5:21p saying they CANCELLED my reservation due to "overbooking". (I never even received a cancellation email) I thought a confirmation meant I was all set? no? I called the 10th street location and was told again "overbooked" and was given a 1-800 number to call to rebook at a different location (closest one 30min FARTHER) from my original location. They would not match the price so to rebook it came in at $377!....woa guys! I dont even know what to say except for SCAM, INSULTING PRICE GOUGING and did not offer anything to help rectify, soften the blow or keep me somewhat satisfied as a GOLD member...whatever that means... after speaking with the manager "Marcos" (offered a 1 day FREE rental, but I was only renting for 24hrs!) basically ME coming up with other somewhat reasonable options, I wont know til the day I check out if they will be met...(I offered, how about an employee discount?, fill the tank? ...a price match would be the fairest offer and who do these companies think they are...just outright cancel your reservation and throw a 1-800 number at you...no accountability, not my job, you figure it out, etc...there is no way I can be the only customer that this has happened to...

I rented a vehicle and Pompano Beach Florida for two days using my Hertz points. I picked the car up on Monday and return the car to RSW airport in Florida on Tuesday. Hertz has billed me for five days of rental plus a $100 interstate tax though I did not leave the state and I returned it to Hertz And additional charges that I don’t understand and have spent hours trying to get a human on the phone which I found impossible and I’ve only been able to communicate with the company through email and have gotten nowhere so I have had to contest the charges with Visa and I will no longer use hertz, which I use every every single week for work I took this day have still not got an explanation as to why I’m being charged for three additional days, so I am left no alternative but to file a complaint

Hertz ************* Case # ******** I was told I would be reimbursed for a tire that got a nail in it when I was home in ** by ************ I just had to send her the paperwork for the tire, which I did. I then got an email from Durlane M. stating that because I didnt call their ***************** I would NOT be reimbursed. I had no clue what to do when the whole thing happened.. It was 253.15$ for a tire that I could have easily just left plugged, but i went the distance and took my time while I was on vacation to fix it. While I was at ***** Tire, they informed me that Enterprise would reimburse their ********** if they had their tires fixed with them and so I called Hertz **************** twice, unable to speak with a person on the phone. So I sent over to ************ the proof that I called Hertz to speak to someone While I was getting the tire fixed. I also sent over pictures to show, with date stamping that the tire was plugged the day previous by my friend. I guess I should have just left it plugged. /_(?)_/ I got some ridiculous response from ******* saying that my information was documented for future clients? That doesn't pay me back my money that I spent on a tire they are riding on. SO I guess from this point forward,, since no one can be bothered to pick up a phone call, I will use Enterprise from this point forward. This has been documented, by me and you will definitely never have my business again. And by the way, the cranky woman at ************** with the long wig also had a crappy attitude. Don't be like that with people, it's horrible idea.

Rental agreement number *********. 2/27/24 to 3/5/2024 Worst customer experience I have ever had from a car rental. First of all our counter sales person blatantly lied to me about tolls. He said that we had to purchase them through hertz. I questioned him and he said you cannot pay cash or use a credit card. Lie number one. I called them on 3/8/2024 to inform them that their team member lied to me. They took my name and number to have a supervisor call me. Then life happened 3/27/24 Spoke to CS again. He said I GAVE them the wrong number. A supervisor tried to call me back but didn’t get through. Then he proceeded to ask me if I had any proof of the agent lying to me. Like a video or recording. Really? I guess I need to start recording my conversations with this company. What a joke. He also refused to take my number to have a supervisor call me. Basically he said too bad. You signed and you have no proof you were lied to. This guy, I think Oscar, should be fired. He was rude and did not even seek to understand my concern and blamed me for everything. I called back and talked to Shareen. She was very understanding and took my CORRECT phone number and also added my number to my rental record as I requested. She said I would get a call back in 24 hours. I’m not confident that will happen. If I could give thrifty hertz a negative five I would.

Contacting someone on the phone with Hertz is the most frustrating process I've ever encountered. I was not able to get answers to my unique rental question, so I tried calling them. Their menu has the usual selection of options. However if none of those options fit your circumstance, be prepared to get cut off. Punching #0 or #** returns you to the recording where she says "thank you" and then hangs up on you. Since my question had to do with a one way rental drop off, I called the location where I would dropping off my vehicle. They said I needed to call the pick up location. So I called that location only to find out that the same options menu didn't fit my question, and that I couldn't talk with a real person. Once again, I got cut off. My business has a contract with Hertz, and I will be using a rental car agency weekly next year. But I need to do some serious soul searching before I decide to go with Hertz. I may just opt for a more expensive car rental with another company that has better customer service.

The Hertz at ****************************************************** is the worst, most aggressive and unprofessional place I have ever been to. Aggressive and rude manager who overbooks cars so when you get there no cars are available. One lady next to me was told no cars, only pick up trucks for her small car reservation. Young ***** man at counter was as angry and unprofessional as I have ever dealt with in any travel company experience.

Ruined hundreds of peoples spring break. Booked a car months in advance and when we arrived we were told there were no cars and we would have to wait 2-3 hours. They would call us. So we couldnt pickup our ******* grocery pickup and drive the hours to our destination. Instead we walked to find a hotel and then walked back 4 hours later to find the same hundreds of angry people still waiting for a car. We were then told that we were not on the list of people waiting because we had already been given a car. Wait 3-4 more hours. Totally ruined our spring break.

Bait and switch! I made a Hertz reservation but when arrived at *************, without even looking up our reservation, he informed me that our car was not available. He stated that we would have to pay a staggering amount a more. I SHOWED him the confirmation email. He repeatedly insisted our only option was to pay more money. We offered to come back to the airport when our reserved car type was available. He said that was not an option. We offered to go the other Hertz location to get a car. He said that location did not have any cars either. However, we also called the Hertz location and asked if they had any cars available for 5 people. The lady responded that she did and that we could come there to rent the car. We told the Hertz agent about the call and the availability. He then purportedly called the location on his personal cellphone, and walked away from us speaking Spanish. He then returned saying we were mistaken and that they do not have any cars. At this point, we were furious because we knew it was an outright lie. I then asked to speak with the manager. He put the purported manager and she also stated that we had no options other than to pay the amount and then she abruptly hung up on me. At this point, I felt scammed, lied to and had no trust in Hertz. Accordingly, we incurred over 3 times our reserved rental amount in transportation costs. It was such an. incredible hassle and wasted time dealing with the issue; not to mention, the discourteous Hertzs representatives at the airport and manager on the phone, the activities we were unable to attend, the hassle of arranging transport to/from the airport and the exorbitant fees associated. To say dealing with this issue, despite having a pre-arranged reservation and price guarantee for a Hertz vehicle, soured the mood of the vacation would be an understatement. We have contacted Hertz numerous times on the status of our claim. Its been 3 months and NO ONE has called us back!
