HAD GOLD CARD MEMBERSHIP-NOT ANYMORE! Went to counter at *********** and the lady was over the top crappy. Reserved a full size car (*****) they said they didn't have one. Only a ***** Malibu which is junk. I asked if they had any other cars, and was told "That's all we have for you" I was willing to upgrade but no. She looked around me for the next customer. Sent a Review to **********************, explained what transpired and requested a call back. Well guess what? Nothing I guess they don't care once they have your money. OVER RATED!

Charged for flat tire ($500), trunk shock gave out ($700), paid for tow truck ($125) plus the rental cost. Absolute financial ****. The contract is unconscionable and unenforceable if challenged in court. You will win. Plan to buy an old car a keep it aside as needed and avoid car rentals.

Upon arriving at ********************************* in ************, ********** on March 20, the Hertz rep was absent - while the reps for all the other rental car companies were ******* their positions. An airport rep helpfully phoned the Hertz office on our behalf - no answer. We took a taxi to the Hertz office, but it was closed. We spent $40 in taxi fare to get to our hotel. When we called the next day, the Hertz rep said they had no car for us, even though we had booked in February and received confirmation. Exasperated with Hertz's abysmal service, we booked a car with another company. Absolutely retched service. Hertz corporate needs to conduct a thorough audit of its operations here with an eye to replacing key personnel with competent staff. Over the years, I've been consistently happy with Hertz - until now. I am now one profoundly disappointed customer. I've lodged a detailed formal complaint with Hertz headquarters.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction (actually disgust) with the recent vehicle rental experience through Hertz. The gravity of this situation cannot be overstated, as it directly impacted the safety and well-being of my family. Here are the critical points: 1) False Representation: Hertz assured us of a 4-wheel-drive vehicle, which was confirmed twice during the reservation process. However, upon pickup, we were assigned a 2-wheel-drive Chevy Tahoe with dangerously bald tires. 2) Life-Threatening Incident: Due to these inadequate tires, my wife and daughters slid off a snowy mountain road, narrowly avoiding a catastrophic accident. We were left stranded overnight, enduring freezing conditions and immense stress. 3) Financial Burden: To mitigate the situation, we were forced to purchase tire chains at three times the cost. Additionally, we received traffic violations due to limited mobility in the only available location. 4) Inadequate Assistance: Despite our desperate calls for help, Hertz roadside assistance offered an unacceptable solution—towing us back to the airport, 1.5 hours away, effectively ending our family vacation prematurely. 5) Automated Response: The only communication we received from Hertz relations was an automated message emphasizing their strict mechanical inspections. This response lacked empathy and failed to address our urgent needs. 6) Simple Request Denied: All we asked for was the 4-wheel-drive vehicle we paid for. Instead, we faced life-threatening circumstances that could have been prevented. 7) Unmet Safety Standards: Hertz’s failure to provide the promised vehicle jeopardized our lives. We implore you to take immediate action to prevent such incidents in the future. We demand accountability, a thorough investigation, and appropriate compensation. Our trust in Hertz has been shattered, and we expect a resolution that prioritizes safety and customer well-being.

On Saturday, April 6 I had a reservation at the North Las Vegas location on ** ***** **. , in Nevada. When I arrived at the location at 10:15 in the morning I was told that the car class that I rented was no longer available however, I would be able to rent a car, an electric car at a higher price of $47 per day. So of course to my dismay I was very upset, because it’s notMy fault that my car class is not available. The agent was Mr Martinez. There was a lady that was waiting prior to my arrival That was told that she had to get an electric vehicle also, which she agreed, however during the rental a gentleman returned a challenger. He was asked by Mr. Martinez how was the car the gentleman said it was perfect. Mr. Martinez proceeded to rent the lady the Dodge Challenger however she could not qualify because she was using a debit card and did not have enough available funds on her card. So when she left I asked Mr. Martinez if I could get that vehicles down Martinez replied, NO…He said that the car was out of service. It was very, obvious that Mr. Martinez was upset with me because I insisted that he provide me with the electric vehicle at the same price Of my original reservation.I went online and I was able to reserve the electric vehicle that he was trying to give me for $47 a day, I was able to reserve it for $23 a day and he told me that since I was going through a third-party, Expedia that rate was not available. Of course I was extremely upset, so I waited just to see if other people would come in and they would get the same treatment, and of course they did not. I contacted Hertz corporate , I spoke with an agent and she told me that she would reserve the vehicle directly with hers using my original confirmation code for $23 a day. I’ve been provided that information to Mr. Martinez, and he very unpolitely,Told me that he was not going to give it to me for $23 per day, and if I didn’t like it that I could leave ,go to the airport.I am seeking compensation

This car rental agency gave me an electric vehicle when I did not ask for one. They did not confirm with me that this was the vehicle they were giving me. I had never driven one before and thought it was a hybrid car that also took gas. I went on a long road trip and was pressed for time, but due to the electric car's short range and need to be charged at specific charging stations for a minimum of one hour, my plans were ruined. I had to swap out the vehicle once it was low on energy at another Hertz location along my path, however I asked them for a gas car and explained that I was unknowingly given an electric vehicle without being made known of the set backs that they come with, but they were "sold out" of all gas cars at every Hertz location along my route. I actually had to rent another vehicle from another rental agency to get a gas car to finish my trip. Then on my way home, I ran into the same problems with broken charging stations and insanely long lines for high speed chargers. The only alternative was to wait 8 hours for a slow charger to charge the car. Because of these major inconveniences, I did not have time to stop and rest along my trip, eat or even drink water. I arrived late and frantic to my destination, and home 4 hours late at 5 in the morning. Even after all of this, Hertz had the nerve to charge me for returning the vehicle not at full charge. It is completely unacceptable that they are giving these dangerous cars to people without making them fully aware of the risks, and Hertz did not act quickly or with care to help me when I was in a crisis mode.

I am fully aware that most cases you need a credit card to rent a car. But according to the Hertz website you can indeed use a debit card they just require a $500 authorization hold. Which I was perfectly fine with. We made a reservation, with the closest Hertz near us, which happened to be an airport. Which they dont make it very clear that in order to use a debit card at an airport location, you have to provide a round trip ticket. Which I had called prior to setting a reservation to verify that I could pay debit at an Airport location, and the gentleman on the phone stated that it was perfectly fine, no problem. The man 100% failed to mention anything about the other requirements. I drove 30 minutes away just for the lady at the front desk to tell us Sorry I cant do anything youll have to call and transfer your reservation and pick up tomorrow. Which was inconvenient but not the end of the world.I called their **************** number and Ive never experienced such poor customer service, and I myself am a CSR. They didnt want to help, they said their only options was to cancel my current reservation and start a new one. Refund me (that wouldnt be back in my account until 7-10 days) and pay another deposit for another reservation. Just to say okay maam you cannot pick up until Tuesday (my original reservation was for Sunday) which would delay my trip 2 days. Because of their 24 hour advanced notice for debit card policy, after I DID give a 24 hour notice, I was denied a car because I went to my closest location after being lied to and not properly directed by one of their employees which they never took accountability for. On top of that the representative who was helping me kept repeating herself and I asked to speak to a supervisor to see if there was another option and she proceeded to unprofessionally state My manager will just tell you the same thing. And the manager was useless as well. Spend the extra money and ****************.

Hertz has incorrectly charged me for a rental. I have in writing from Hertz that:
      1) my reservation was NOT completed
      2) they agreed to refund the charge on my credit card
My customer care reference number is ******** and I have confirmed in writing on February 23, 2024 that Hertz was agreeing to refund my money.
Hertz to date (April 2024) has NOT processed my refund and has ignored every single follow-up email and phone call I've made to customer care. I have called customer service where they told me my refund was "pending" with corporate and that I would be contacted. I asked for a contact at corporate to follow-up as I was worried I was never going to be contacted again and ignored like my previous experience. I was told a contact was not available and I had to be patient and I would be contacted within 5-7 business days. This was a month ago and I have never been contacted. The original incorrect charge to my credit card was back in July 2023. It has almost been a year of Hertz ignoring my various follow-ups all to get my money back for a reservation that was not completed.
      Please help me.

Hertz has the worst customer service. Their automated phone line sucks. Their website is not detailed. As a person renting a vehicle for the first time, I did not have all the information I needed. I tried to call and find out more information and was on hold for 45 minutes. I wanted to know if the vehicle needed to be picked up exactly at the time or if it was a time frame. Tried to make a time frame on the website and accidentally changed the time. To then eventually get ahold of someone who told me that you have 24 hrs to pick up the vehicle and they weren’t going to fix the fee I accidentally incurred by trying to set a time frame. The vehicle got a flat tire on our journey. We had to get it towed to a tire company. Hertz does not reimburse you for the tire. You just get to eat the cost of a new tire that they get to keep. I will never use hertz again. I will be making sure everyone I know understands how much this company sucks.
