Im a driver for Lyft that rented a vehicle to drive through hertz platform. During the rental process, the vehicle was towed for non renewal of contract. I was in good standing, without any outstanding charges at the moment but didnt renew in time. I never got a notification as normal through my Lyft app. At the time they were sent directly to my phone as a text and email. I should have had both numbers linked to my account as I do have two phones with the app on both. When I finally got phone back on I received a call from recovery on March 22, saying vehicle had been sold and I need to return vehicle and get a new contract. I mentioned with the time given I could go in first thing Monday and take care of everything, as I did get call on Friday after 4pm. On Monday, March 25th the car was already towed before 6 am. I was charged extra fees on my Lyft account. For towing fees, key lost fees, gas fuel, and four rental days. I returned key to location I rented from, **********************************. ***********, **. on March 25th. Some of these fees I shouldnt be charged, as for ********** charge four rental days. The car was removed from my Lyft account on March 28th. So I thought the car would be at the location I rented from. I call the place frequently and they havent even located the car or returned my lost items yet. Told me if was at the airport. Went there wasnt there either. Called fleet and they couldnt locate it either. At this point I shouldnt be charged for any of this inconvenience to me now. It had been past the business days that you guys state. I filed a lost report on March 27th, reference number ********. I get emails saying items not located yet. I call both locations at *************** and *** airport and they say they dont have the vehicle. No one has solved any of my issues with this situation since March 25th.

When I dropped the car off, I was presented a form to sign being accused of a minor scratch that was not even visible below the tire area. I was asked if I had taken pictures before I picked up the vehicle before I picked up. I did not scratch the car while I drove it.Then, I was sent a receipt with a $30 gas charge even though the needle was past the full ***** This was a completely fabricated charge, as it was for a fraction of a gallon at $9.99 per gallon. I was charged a made-up service charge too. This was the second time that this has occurred at this Hertz at the ****************.After I called, I was told I would have to email the manager. No one answered at the 800 #. Called back again and spoke to what I believe was the manager and he corrected the charge. However, when I called the charge card company, they said there had been a charge pending for $100 more than the initial receipt I received. Not sure if this was a hold or deliberate overcharge that differed from the receipt, but I find it odd given the context of the other attempts to overcharge.

To Hertz Global Headquarters ************************************************************************** I'm writing to report a very unpleasant bait and switch type of experience my friend and I had on 3/22/24 with Hertz ********** where the agent, ****, TRIPLED the rate from $533.70 for a week to $1619.85 and told us our reserved vehicle was not available even though we presented the printout clearly showing our reservation and rate .She repeatedly tried to upsell us to a larger vehicle or an extremely small electric vehicle stating our vehicle was not available. We explained we were going hiking and needed something with a higher clearance which is why we reserved the **** When we complained that this was unfair bait-and-switch tactics, cost too much and that she was ruining our vacation, she basically said " do you want it or not". No emotion, no apology, no eye contact. We had just waited for forty minutes in line to be greeted by a woman who clearly did not like people or her job.Since my friend ****** made the reservation and did not want to cause a scene and feared we'd be without a vehicle for the week she took the reservation and we went downstairs where you pick up the vehicles. I continued to seethe with anger at the rip off we just experienced and when we got downstairs, I went to the GOLD COUNTER at Hertz and spoke to a young gentleman named " Saquer" and let him know I needed to talk with the manager right away.He then returned and said he would take care of us, reversed the previous charge, and told us we could have the vehicle we originally reserved and at the price we reserved. How amazing that our vehicle suddenly appeared and that Saquer could do what **** could not! If it had not been for Sequer, our trip would have been ruined. I hope someone in management gets this speaks to ****. I also hope they commend Saquer for saving the day.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Worst experience ever. Theyre allowing people to create reservations for inventory they dont have. Even worse, they are waiting until after the appointed reservation to tell people they dont have any cars. I took an Uber there to be told they have none and that they couldnt reimburse me.

Post rental they hit me with an additional charge of $200.00 for "Outside Washing."Also interesting that they did not charge Tax on my initial charge, but after adding this charge post rental...like they planned to blindside me after the return all along. The vehicle did only highway travel during my trip and was no more dirty as when I got it.Also...$200 to wash the outside...seriously???Given they opted to not reply to any of the below, I suspect they don't care.

I picked up on a Saturday morning, and the vehicle I reserved wasnt available. Instead, they reserved a smaller vehicle, which was annoying but sufficient; however, it was billed at a more expensive rate. I explained I had reserved at a lower rate, and when I mentioned this, the agent changed the rate, suddenly finding the correct rate in the system. After an uneventful week, I was set to return it the following Saturday, so I called them on Friday to ask if I could drop off earlier, and they told me, yes, go ahead and drop it off and place keys in the drop box. They open at 9 on Saturday morning, so they said someone would retrieve the keys and check it in that morning.I dropped the car off in the parking lot around 7:45 am and left the keys in the box. Later that day, I received an email with my receipt noting an 8:49 am return time. THE FOLLOWING WEDNESDAY I get a voicemail claiming that upon further inspection, the drivers side door is missing a panel. I go back to the pictures I took at dropoff, wondering what this supposed missing panel could be. The following Saturday, I drove to Hertz to see, and it is missing an entire plastic strip on the doorhow could anyone not notice a missing panel until 4 days later? The branch manager was not in, so I emailed him requesting details regarding my check in, the inspection, and where the car was after I dropped it off, and he responded requesting I fill out a blank damage form acknowledging I returned a damaged vehicle, which I could not do since it was undamaged when I dropped it off. All communications then ceased, and 2 weeks later I get an email requesting my insurance info for a claim. I emailed Hertz customer support and the escalation team listed on the website; however, I have not received any response as to why nothing was noted during check in of the vehicle and where my vehicle was in the four days before damage was noted.

This business is a scam. **************** all the way up to mgmt! No one is in the same page. Corporate doesnt read the notes of their locations and have no clue of the information placed in the system by their own employees. This is the way they try to charge you for extra fees and suspensions. I have documented everything from emails to call logs trying to resolve my issue with these scammers. Numerous attempts to pay my remaining balance and no one could answer the question. This has been 3 weeks now. Ridiculous. Today I wake up and see a charge for $2500 for 8 wks that has already been charged. Get this thoughI closed that card last month because I lost my wallet. New cc #, new exp dateand these desperate people really got the charge through. Called my cc company and got everything disputed and will get that back but you have to watch every charge. Makes sense judging by their customer service from management down, and seeing their CEO just stepped down. Not surprising. ****************, or any other company with a solid reputation. I wouldnt be surprised either if they get hit with another class action lawsuit. Their awful. Final thoughtscheck all your charges and statements for months after you close your acct.

Worst rental car experience ever. It took over an hour upon arrival at rental site to get a car. Not enough employees to get rental done. When returning the vehicle fees were added to the bill that increased the cost by over a third. They wont be getting my business again

As a former longtime President's ****** member at Hertz, I can say they USED to be a good company, now are beyond horrible. They rent you crappy cars that they then bill YOU damages for upon return. $400 smoking fees for nonsmoking renters, even after the return attendant says all is good. Doubling down on said charges, near impossible to reach anyone to discuss. No customer service, just automated phone tree merry-go-rounds. They leave literally dozens of scammer comments up on their ******** posts, but BAN people who post to complain about how Hertz screwed them over. Something is very, very wrong at Herz these days. STRONGLY warn everyone to stay away from hertz.
