      I reserved a rental for $330.10 and approved the fuel purchase option for $3.64 per gallon. I did not know (nor did the representative tell me or was there any sign) that gas left over did not count to the refueling. I thought I paid the difference. This was very deceptive. I would have refueled if I had known. Regardless, the receipt and bill charged me for $10.64 per gallon versus what the repressive told me would be $3.64. They are tripling their profit! There is no gas here for that price!! My bill increased over $100. This is unacceptable. I want a refund.

      I rented a car at 4/30 and returned at 5/1. When I was out from their garage, the fuel on the car was half tank. I returned the car with same level of fuel next day, but they said the car was with full tank, charged me $90 for refuel. I contacted their customer service, they asked me for picture otherwise no refund. They are so rude and I had very unhappy experience with them, I will not rent from them again.

      Reserved a car online, but when I showed up they said they wouldn't have anything back in for a week. 15 people from my flight didn't get a car, and anyone who flew in after would have been out of luck as well. Incurred some extra expenses due to the need for an Uber and changing hotel reservations since I needed a rental to get to my originally booked hotel. Also ended up wasting a 3 day trip because I had no rental. Asked for compensation for the Ubers and hotel fees, was total to submit a compliant online, and haven't heard anything in over a month. A reservation should mean a reservation. This intentional over selling is a predatory business practice that only hurts consumers. Highly suggest just going with something like turo.

      I was stranded @ *************, **. AIRPORT. I could not get a flight to either *********** or ********* till the next day @ the earliest, due to a family emergency I needed to get home as fast as possible which made my only option a car rental. I went to 3 rental agencies & all told me the same thing, they only had local rentals available that had to be returned back to the airport the next day. Well that ain't gonna work, each of the 3 rental agencies said due to the huge number of flight cancellations all there long distance rentals were out & they did not think any were available from any rental agency @ the airport. Well there was 1 agency left ( HERTZ ) to check with so I did, they had only one 24 hour long distance rental available @ the total cost of $497.85, I protested that price & asked them if that was the standard 24 hour long distance rental, they responded yes it was. I did not gave the time or patience left to argue or try & come up with a new plan so I took the rental & drove home. The next day I contacted THE HERTZ CORPORATION & asked them what was their established normal one day long distance rental cost, I was told there is no established cost as each HERTZ LOCATION IS INDEPENDANT & CAN CHARGE WHATEVER THEY WANT, NO STANDARDS ARE SET BY HERTZ CORPORATION. THIS IS RIDICULOUS & ALLOWS CONSUMERS TO BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF & RIPPED OFF. From my research the average daily long distance car rental fee from other car rental agencies is around $200.00

      Aloha so me and my wife spend thousands of dollars renting cars at the hertz Kaneohe location,, same debit card we always use!! All of a sudden we went to go rent a car it was an emergency!! So upon renting the put a deposit hold on the card!! Of 58.00$ but then after the deposit was on hold they said they did not expect this form of payment we have been using this card for years??????

      I reserved a Bolt EV from Hartsfield-Jackson ATL airport on 4/4. As I was driving off the lot, I noticed that the check engine light was on, which was a bit odd to me. However, I didn't think anything of it since I was given the car to use. Within an hour of my drive, I got a " Service transmission now. Unable to shift soon." message on my dashboard. I immediately went into a panic and attempted to reach the Hertz @ the ATL airport. After 5+ unsuccessful attempts throughout the day, I tried reaching out to someone at 1-800 number, and was successful after a few calls. The fact that I had to pay Hertz $404.41 to use a defective car, with the defect being transmission failure, is simply beyond comprehension. After a failed attempt to get a car at a neighboring Hertz, I was forced to drive back to the Hertz at the ATL airport (which was a huge inconvenience given the bumper to bumper traffic). Before leaving, I was assured by an agent on the phone that the exchange process would be super quick/easy – no more than 15 minutes. Upon arriving at Hertz, I was told by the customer service agent at the desk that the wait would be an hour, not 15 minutes. I expressed my immediate concerns/ frustrations with that given the fact that I had communicated with 2 agents prior to coming and was assured that I would be able to get a car quickly in order to continue with my plans. Now we're stuck with either waiting for an hour to get a car OR paying $130+ to get an uber & sit in bumper to bumper traffic. When I shared with the agent at the desk that I had been trying to reach someone for days, she told me that "this location gets hundreds of customers a day so we can't pick up the phone. It's best to call the 1800 number." I have been told that I was awarded $110 as compensation for my experience. However, I am requesting a full refund in order to address the poor customer service AND the loan of a car that could have resulted in serious injury or even worse, fatality.

      I am also a victim of their horrific fraudulent activities and was slandered by *******. He told me to contact ***** go **** yourself, **** and refused to assist us with customer service complaints. We were quoted 640$ through AAA to rent the car and he charges us over 1000$.

      Deceptive and misleading at the *************************, told me their protection plan was only 120 $ not a different charge per day of rental. Lying to take people's money. Also asked to be contacted in March via their website, guaranteed response in 72 hrs. Never got one. When I returned the car they stated that was all, no outstanding dues, thought was sent a bill in error which is why I made an inquiry in the first place that they never responded too. My credit score suffered when I was sent a bill the next month.

      I rented a car from *************** for 4 days from Hertz. I returned the car undamaged and got a receipt later that day. I took pictures of every side of the car because I have heard of them trying to pin damage on you that didn't occur during the rental period. Three days later I got an email that the windshield was damaged upon return. I called the number on the email, told them I had pictures, he advised me to not fill out any paper work but to respond to the email with the details I told him and to include the pictures. I responded to the email but did not add my pictures, but asked for proof of damage. This is my first and last time renting with Hertz.
