My husband and I rented a car from. Hertz in Albuquerque. We opted to prepay for the gas because we were told by the clerk at Hertz we would be refunded for the unused gas $. WRONG AND A LIE. We only used about a half tank of gas which cost us $75. Rip off that Hertz refused to make right. Never rent from Hertz again.

Worst company. Gave me a confirmation that they can not uphold. Leaving me stranded. I would love an investigation into the why this company operates.

Do not rent from them scammers! Charged $500 cleaning fee for a car that was provided in that state because they failed to clean and prepare beforehand for scheduled appt. After reviewing their practices on reviews looks like a recurring scam they play on unsuspecting customers. Shame!

We had a reservation a month before our pick-up date. Fifteen minutes before our reservation time I received a call stating they had no vehicles and that I needed to call to other Hertz locations if I still wanted a vehicle. NOT thinking this is my job but reluctantly calling around i was told I could not transfer reservations and could only make a new on. Decided no thank you and called for refund. AVIS we're on our way. There's no option for negative stars...

Hertz car sale LLC in Phoenix, Arizona is a scam 1133 west bell rd phoenix az 85023 I paid in full cash for my vehicle and still Hertz put a lien on my title. I had no knowledge of it until I started having issues with the vehicle and went to trade it in at a different dealership. They informed me Hertz had to lean on my title , The vehicle I purchased within a week had issues with front and tire And the chip in the car, the salesman was caught in multiple lies, and yet still continue to lie

I reserved a 'small suv' for a 3day getaway in Ft Lauderdale with my son on May 25th. At the terminal I went directly to Hertz and walked to the garage. A female employee said I am Gold Circle and pointed to the gold rows and just pick a car. I went to the first Gold row, there was only 2 suv's there and they were being taken by 2 other customers. There was a male employee at the second gold row. I walked over and as i was looking at the cars he said no not this row. He pointed back to the first practically empty row and said to take a car from there. There was a green suv and two white pick ups left. The green car had a sign taped to the window that read "NO KEY FOR THIS CAR." We were left with only two trucks which we didn't reserve nor want. I looked at the male again and I said this is all that's left, he said you can take one of those. We were not happy since the trucks were not that great. Rusty front bumper and something smeared all over the tailgate. and the bed was all scratched up like it was rented as a work truck. The mileage had 55,000 and I've never ended up with something old like this before. It was not nice and we were not happy but we needed a vehicle and were not allowed to take from the second Gold row. My reservation had a $242 total price for a small suv. When I returned this horrible truck, the emailed receipt showed a whopping $822 which is almost four times what I expected to pay. I did send in a complaint to Hertz but their response seven days later was that I 'picked' the truck and the large truck is a higher rate. I didn't pick the truck, I was told to take it and not allowed to get what I ordered from the second gold circle row. I need something done because this was a "bait n switch" transaction that I had no control over. Hertz doesn't even deserve one star rating. I've been a loyal customer for many years renting in my own state of Mass, New York, Florida, Tennessee, Calif, Nevada, and Texas. Hertz doesn't even deserve 1 Star.

They doubled charged me! Ive been trying for months to get it straightened out. I booked a car on line with my husband credit card. When I went to pick the car up I didnt have the card and he wasnt with me. So I had to rebook and I put it on my Apple Card. So then the couldnt figure out how to put the $200 deposit on my Apple Card. So I paid it with my debit card and they informed me the changes and my Apple Card would come off by midnight that day. Never happen still trying to get my $470.13 put another dispute with Apple.

I was automatically charged for a citation a year after closing my rental agreement. I never went to the city that the citation was billed from but Hertz still charged me. I disputed the charge and was told I needed to submit documentation proving that I wasnt in the city the citation incurred from.

I got my car in a reasonable time from LAX airport, but then found one of the tires has low pressure, and I was told to go inside, stand in line again and have them change the car for me. Unfortunately, they gave me not a great car but was enough for the trip. Next day I tried all ways possible to contact them to upgrade for 7 seaters, there was no way on earth to get to them. Phone goes to voice mail. Even emergency line doesn't respond, I am glad it wasn't something bigger. Trie customer support chat, it said it no longer works. I will never ever get a car from Hertz again as Hertz "hurts" and energy and wastes my time. The staff were helpful inside the office when I got my car. But the one start stands mainly for non responding customer service. I'd rather Uber or zipcar but not get a car from them.

I recently rented from Hertz in Jacksonville, Fl. I had completed the information online and prepaid everything. I declined the insurance and fuel. The contract that was emailed indicated no additional insurance or other charges. As I was waiting in line in the Jax airport I heard the male repetitive upselling the insurance and other “add ons” to an elderly lady. The rep was rude and it was evident the lady was unclear what he was asking her. In the end, he convinced her to “add on” all of the insurance and doubled her charges. When I finally got to the front of the line, I made it very clear that I didn’t want any additional add ons and I had already prepaid. Again, he was rude. The car that I was given had damage to the trunk and on several other areas of the exterior. I reported the damage on the form sent to me but was unable to print the report. When I returned the car, I was charged an extra fuel add on which the return lady said that I had opted in on. Although she was pleasant, she couldn’t do anything about the charges. I’m very frustrated with the dishonest practices of Hertz! I will not rent from them again. And I better not be charged for the the damages that existed on the car!!! Luckily I took pictures and they are date and time stamped so I have evidence of the damage.
