      Reserved a car in Costa Rica for one week. Given a quote for $187. Arrive at Hertz in Costa Rica and was told that it would be $444, and this was with me declining the collision damage waiver, which would have added hundreds more. I filed a complaint with the BBB when I returned home, but Hertz simply said that the Hertz in Costa Rica is "independently owned and operated", and that I had agreed to all charges by signing the contract. What else am I supposed to do in a foreign country while standing at the rental counter? Start looking around for another car rental? They know they have you at that point. Will never rent from Hertz again. Most unscrupulous business practices I have ever seen.

      Someone in the detail department stolen my Apple headphones. I dropped my car off came back 10 Mins later they can’t find the car or the head phones almost made me miss my flight waiting on managers and them looking and can’t find it I’ve sent over 3 emails call everyday left voice messages and still no call back or email About my headphones that one of there employees stole I came back 10 Mins later literally now they saying cause it’s a holiday they put it in the drop box some one will Contact you ! Absolutely nothing

      They Rented us a vehicle that had 4 bald tires with the steel threads showing on all 4 tires. Slid off Merritt parkway in the rain and that’s when we realized what was wrong with the tires. They accepted responsibility and saw the tires. I also have photos . Said we would be credited but never was. Tried to follow up and they said we were not entitled to a credit . Horrible experience . Will never use them again !

      My girlfriend and I were duped out of $97.60 by an employee who lied to our face. He asked us if we wanted the optional insurance and we declined. We have full coverage and did not need the insurance. When we came back and attempted to get a refund, the manager was too busy parking cars to handle it. Attempted to contact customer service who were no help. We will not be renting from them again. We will also be warning everyone we know about them.

      Uber need to cancel their contract with Hertz because they rent late model cars that are dinted, holes in the seats, no gas, needs oil change, need tires fixed and the dashes are lit up because things like the Bluetooth and gas gauge completely not working! These cars need to be out of rotation! They make the driver do all of their maintenance repairs even though we are paying what anyone else is paying for a rental for a week!

      Due to an issue with my credit card I was unable to make a payment on time when contact by vehicle recovery department I stated the issue and told them I would be able to pay once the credit card clears. They proceeded to tell me not to worry and to contact the location where I picked up the vehicle. I did as instructed informed both about my intention to pay (considering I had the car for 2 months and this was the only circumstance of this happening) and he also stated it was ok not to worry make the payment once my card clears. The very next day I woke up to the car having been towed over night not knowing this would occur since they gave me the green light and told me not to worry. I had medication that I take everyday my wallet containing cash a check and my credit cards along with many other personal items considering I had the car for over 2 months. They proceeded to give me a run around for almost a month ( they took the car 5/23/2024 it’s 6/11/2024) when I finally got the information to the repo and where the car was after getting told they have no idea where the car is the repo company said hertz picked up the vehicle 13 days ago I filed all necessary lost and found report and haven’t gotten a word back. Do I file a police report on my missing items do I continue to bombard them with calls and emails. It also sucks I now have to pay a bunch of fees when I was told not to worry and to pay once the card cleared and I still have yet to get my items. They want me to pay but they can’t give me my stuff back this is ridiculous and this is my last resort.

      We rented a car from this location and two hours before we were supposed to pick it up, someone from this Hertz location contacted us and told us that they had no vehicles. The rental was reserved several days prior and paid for. We were told the reservation would be canceled and it would take 7 to 10 business days to get our money refunded. They did nothing to help us find another vehicle. We contacted Hertz corporate headquarters and were told that events like this happen if a specific location does not update their car selections. Hertz insisted that it was the location and not a corporate problem. Further, that morning Someone could still rent a vehicle from that location through the website. This is not a good business and a scam on the part of Hertz Murfreesboro. We do not recommend using them at all.

      Worse company to ever rent a car from!!! Had a freak accident rock hit the windshield and my insurance covered it. But they still wanted money from me in additional fees. All they want to do is rob you from something you cant avoide. NEVER RENT FROM HERTZ!!

      Hertz 5405 Airport Service Road Tampa, FL 33607 March 2024 I rented a car through Kayak for a weekend trip from FL to GA. I had to pay another fee up front when I showed up for pick up because they didnt have the car I originally picked. The upchage was because the car they chose for me was considered an upgrade since it was bigger than what was originally selected. Everything went smooth until recently. May 31st 2024 I recieve a call from hertz where they are accusing me of having returned the rental with windshield damage and they're charging me $413.59 for repairs. Literally 3 months after having rented the car is when I'm being notified about windhield damage. When I asked why it took so long to be notified, their response was that they didn't have a valid email address to contact me. In order for me to prove that I didn't return the car with damages they're asking for pictures with time stamps. Its been 3 months, i dont even have the reciepts anymore... NEVER RENTING FROM HERTZ AGAIN!!!
