      Reserved a car on July, 2024 at the Burbank location. I showed up and the desk agent said they had no more. I tried to cancel my reservation but the system stated that my pick up time had passed and that I could not cancel and was charged a no show fee. My reservation was accepted and there were no cars left. How could I be charged a no show fee?

      Hertz uses predatory bait and switch tactics to scam consumers out of their money because they know people have no other choice. I booked a car through Hertz and had an agreement for price and which car I would get. I was picking up at the Downtown Oakland, CA Hertz location on 7/3/2024. I booked and had a reservation # and price at the time. When I showed up at the agreed upon time, they told me they did not have the car I booked, the only thing they could do is provide me with another car for $25 extra per day or cancel the reservation. (The car that they gave me was a Nissan Altima with multiple issues, not really an upgrade from anything on the market today...) They gave me no option but to pull money from my already constrained vacation budget to pay for this unexpected extra fee. I think when you have a reservation and have an agreed upon price, the company should have a responsibility to fulfill their promises. I feel as though they should have given the upgrade for free as they are the one's who screwed up and did not have the car I booked. I think a refund is in order for the unexpected fee. Also reaching out to the California Departement of Consumer Affairs for this issue so hopefully more customers arent strongarmed into paying more because Hertz can't fulfil their own bookings.

      Our original reservation was for $248.10 and I want that honored. Hertz charged us $425.28 when all said and done.We arrived to pick up our original rental and were forced to use a different credit card, not honored the original rate, and had to purchase extra services because they would not honor the original reservation.NOWHERE in the confirmation email does it say the card used to reserve the reservation is required to pick up the vehicle but the two men working at the time, one of which was the manager at this location, said it was required in order to pick up the vehicle. The email only states credit card, valid major credit card, and also Pre-paid confirmed - Document not required for rental.Due to this not being communicated in any way whatsoever prior to our arrival to pick up the vehicle, and these two employees saying the physical card is required, we had to pay with my credit card which does not include travel protection and we had to add my boyfriend on as an additional driver since the reservation had to be changed to my info. They also would not match the exact same rate we originally had which cost us additional as well.The manager at the location rushed us out and said they were already closed when it was scheduled as a 5pm pick up time, why allow us to pick up when youre closed?I contacted customer service to cancel original reservation and talk to them about the additional charges and was told to email customer relations and was given the wrong email. I found the correct email after searching online. The email rep would not assist because we still had the vehicle. Once returned we were told to talk to the manager but the manager had already left his job early and we could not speak to him and had to return the car and sign off. I contacted customer service via email again and was informed it hadnt posted to my card yet so they couldnt help me. Emailed them again and they told me all charges were correct without investigation.

      I tried to rent a vehicle from Hertz and big bold red letters. It said they do not take visa. So I booked a rental with another company only to find out that hurts had taken money out of my account when I contact them. Ernie stated that was just a holding fee and they will put back the money. My question is why would you take out the money if you don’t take Visa? I have no confirmation number no confirmation email when he looked up my name and credit card he said nope, didn’t go through, I asked for a supervisor he said we don’t have any but somebody will call you in two hours. Well, no one did and the money is still pending today. The next day I look at my emails and now I have a confirmation email and confirmation number whatttt? I went with enterprise who was very, very kind , hertz has awful customer service you can’t get hold of a human. I have sent them three messages and no one has responded. I have let my bank know that I want this canceled immediately. Hertz DO BETTER

      Unorganized unprofessional and not only that straight scamming they never contact you about billing Ive been renting with them and over and over again my account gets over drafted and charged for stuff that shouldnt even have been charged its actually so sad that a company can get away with this and nothing will get done

      I wont even say that I think hertz steals money from people because hertz does steal money from people and I am a victim of it. They say they released my $500 deductible however my bank can confirm thats not the case. That money is no where to be seen or even pending and the management is pointless. I bring the problem to his attention and (CRICKETS) nothing no communication whatsoever. Not even an email or text then to top it off they filled a car with gas that I just put $60 into to fill it before I brought it back hahaha and THEY CHARGED ME $120 FOR GAS..

      I was double-billed, and the only way to resolve is to now drive back to the airport - in the middle of my trip - to try and to resolve their error. This is absolute nonsense, and customer service is basically useless. I am very frustrated and disappointed.

      This business is very racist and discrimination address ************************************* ******************* and the entire staff were very disrespectful and called the police on me for no apparent reason you can even run the cameras back one of the employees tried to also fight me please if you can thoughtly investigate this situation on 07/05/2024 8:30 am eastern time thank you.

      DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ IN ********!!!!!!!!!I booked a car for a week and had made the reservation online, in rush hour traffic we went to pick up the car, their sign was located on the ground so we passed the business 3 times and it was a issue because they had road construction.We tried to call 3 times and ***** answered, when we go into their ***** **** office there was no customers in the small office so I do not know why the woman did not answer the phone.I told her I had car reserved and had my reservation number and she barked out we have no cars available I stated I have a car reserved and she barked out no cars are here.I lost the job which paid $500 for that day, my boss had to drive 45 minutes to get me for work the next day, very embarrassing to say the least.very unhappy, so unprofessional I got no apologies from the rude worker.my 84 year old mom had to drive 45 minutes home.rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

      This rental car company is criminal they dodge responsibility, gas light, engage in theft and fraud and strong arm people into paying whatever it is they think you owe them regardless of the service they was provided or what they say they will do and then you never see it. They are car rental company who's locations are understaffed and sales pressured to much more add on to people's rentals so they don't disclose information to people and then tell you signed that contract so tough luck which is the way if you want to create more pro less for yourself to go about it to create mo ster and enemies to have a blame finger and to be able to point at anyone who would suggest if you just fixed the issue tmyou would ha e all the lawsuits if you cared about who you served and what they did they would retain Employees which would lead to better customer service and real time help with all issues pertaining to your rental...this company has invested in a lot of poorly integrated tech junk and has no cohesiveness everybody at all the locations have differing versions of hertz policy. I was never ask about adding optional Insurance never given the option to bring my own and told me later when I confronted them about it they were mandatory I said uhhhhh you get commission or sniffs for tacking these on I bet telling people they are mandatory when they aren't to a bunch of uber driver s who are hearing one thing from uber another from Hertz one day and vice versa the next it's a mess and as a driver you can not reasonably ecpected to to be pouring over a contract that is only.consistsnt in that it is different element of fraud this company. Commits depending on location...and yes i am seeking criminal charges, wages lost, pain and suffering...and they might ot mean much to hertz but a class action will and i know of over 400 uber drivers partipiating in that program who would love to join in on this. 400 uber drivers all of them being told that optional insurance is mandatory.
