      I have been a Five Star member of Hertz for years and will never be renting from them again after my experience at the S*** L*** City airport. They directed me to “select any car from the gold area” when I arrived. When I followed their instructions they charged me a fee to upgrade my car (nearly double what I agreed to) and never asked or even informed me of the upgrade. It is impossible to contact a human by calling, and when I reported it by email they simply told me that I selected a more expensive car. It seems like others have reported similar issues hear, so it feels as if this is part of their business model.

      Hertz is by far the worst at customer service that I have ever experienced. My wife and a friend traveled to *************** 07/12/24 and departed 07/15/24; they used hertz rental service and had a black mustang. On Monday July 15, 2024, at approximately 6;00pm they retuned the vehicle to the hertz inside of the ATL airport. While waiting to board their flight my wife realized she had left her pink Air pod *** inside of the vehicle and it was too far to go back without missing her flight; she put them in lost mode which gives the finder a message to contact owner. Hertz lost and found is supposed to tag items and put them on their website for people to claim ''they did tag the handicap *******'' but took the air pods home instead. We have made a police report, a hertz report and still have not been able to speak with anyone at Hertz. We have been on long holds hoping to speak with a representative only to get disconnected. This company doesn't seem like they want people to be able to communicate with them to resolve any issue based on customer reviews. I do not have a name for the person who stole them but i do have their home address which is safe to assume hertz could help me with this issue if i can speak to someone. While I am hope watching my headphones travel around, the thief appears to be boarding a cruise in ******* as I type this complaint.

      Still waiting on a response from Hertz...we had an unfair, unpleasant experience with ************ hertz location, which resulted in frustration and financial loss. Our reservation was to pick up on Thursday night at 10 pm but they would not allow us a vehicle as the desk agent claimed there was an issue with the license scanning machine as I am under 21 and she needs a supervisor to override it. After having a supervisor come, the supervisor claimed she was not able to assist as her credentials would not allow her to do so. We were instructed to come back the next morning, as they would be able to properly assist us. We took an extremely pricey Uber, as we did not have a vehicle. The following morning we took expensive Uber back to the airport only to be turned down again. This time the desk agent claimed there was no way to give us a vehicle because I am 20 years old. I informed him that I had put my age into the reservation and the website allowed me to book. I had combed the website rules and regulations to ensure that this would not happen and he managed to pull up some clause claiming that he was right. I have triple A premier membership, which was later verified by a hertz agent over the phone that this would help, but at the time the desk agent would not assist us at all. He brought forth his manager who would not hear us, or assist. She said you need to adjust your attitude although we were being quite calm per the circumstance. She was continuously rude and we were quite offended. I do not believe this is someone you would like representing your company We questioned if we would get a full refund and they curtly said that we would need to call customer service and ended the conversation with us. Per the Triple A agent we spoke with, we should have been provided vehicle. Additionally we had to UberEats basics and we had nowhere to keep our luggage on our last day once we checked out of airbnb as we had a night flight. Overall terrible experience!!

      Insured driver of Hertz caused an accident and it's been a week and I'm injured and out of a vehicle and all's I get is we're waiting for an adjuster to take your claim. So I have to put my life on hold because they can't get their **** together and help the injured party, total bs!!!! If 0 stars was available that's what I would leave!!!

      It has been over a month now that our hold & refund still hasn't been given back to us. I paid for a trip, I was unable to go but their customer service still said that's fine that I paid. When the GF showed up for rental Hertz said it couldn't be granted because I wasn't there, so she put it on her CC and then hertz said she couldn't rent because she's on the no rent list even though she's never rented through them before. When we called after the trip they looked up and couldn't give a reason as to why we were rejected. They charged me just under $400 and double charged her, just under $800. They've stated many times that we are able to get a refund but when I call, every other day, they say there is no record of this refund request and then proceed to say they have just issued a refund. When trying to speak with a manager is in a meeting and that they would call back in 30-45 minutes but I have yet to receive a call back from them. PLEASE DONT RENT FROM HERTZ

      0 stars. They charged me a vehicle upgrade fee which I never agreed to. When i called them they never pick up the phone. When i emailed them they never responded to my evidence showing the charges I agreed to.

      I filed a complaint w/ Hertz 6/27. I was told I'd receive a response within 2-3 days. It's been about a month w/ no response. This further demonstrates the discriminatory nature of this company. Ultimately, I waited for over 3 hours to get a car that I had previously reserved and checked in via a link to "skip the line". After speaking to at least 5 different employees, it was finally determined that although I checked in via the app to skip the line, I still needed to get in line (which I did multiple times) and be processed (which all employees I interacted with failed to do, even though they took my phone, license, and credit card multiple times), and because I was not processed, I was never really in the queue to get a car. I asked if the employees I worked with were new; they were not. I asked if they were still in training; they were not. I asked if they were aware of the need to process customers regardless of whether they checked in via the app; they were. Just about every customer that arrived before and after me received their car before me. No one waited as long as I did. This is discrimination. I explained unconscious bias to the manager that ultimately helped me, and that discrimination does not have to be intentional or mean-spirited... it's simply treating someone differently based on their own thoughts/views, even if it's unconscious. I was thrown a $100 voucher to use at Hertz, but I will not be renting with them again. This was really sad for my kids to see, and the fact that the Executive Customer Service group couldn't be bothered enough to send me an apology in response to my complaint is very telling.

      I will never rent a car from hertz ever again there customer service sucks and is very rude when you ask questions about your rental you get a rude girl . Next time I’ll go to enterprise and get one from them . I will be letting AAA know about my experience with your company also . If she doesn’t like her job then find a new one

      On February 22, 2024 I reserved a car using the online website for May 2-6 (Hou). I chose a Jeep 4x4 Wrangler due to the nature of my trip and the importance of ensuring the truck could accommodate terrain. The reservation stated Jeep 4x4 Guaranteed (see attached). After contacting Hertz customer care local/web (Ref. No. *********. Received a message from ***** * saying they apologize but availability is not always guaranteed. This caused me to incur extra cost. My issue is that I am a dedicated member and when booking cars the reservation gives to messages: - Vehicle Guaranteed. - Chosen Vehicle or similar. As a consumer I expect Hertz to honor the language and expectation they use in order to receive my business. I choose cars based on guarantee when needed and similar vehicle when not on business. This is an unfair and deceptive practice and borders on fraud due to the expectation they set up to get my business but did not deliver. I have attached the GUARANTEED language and also SIMILAR VEHICAL they use from current incident and also a previous rental. Due to this I had to return car and rent from another car rental location at the price of 546.35 which had a Jeep Vehicle. I am extremely disappointed. I was told that a manager would contact me in regard to this compliant but havent heard from anyone. Also, before returning the vehicle I called three times to no avail to see options for the Jeep

      I rented an economy car from 04/19/2024 to 04/23/2024 from Hertz, ******** ********* airport for $201 ($34.09 x day + taxes). The car was returned on Tuesday afternoon, 04/23/2024 as it was reserved. by 4pm, two hours before our departing flight. The Hertz's representative from the parking lot asked me to leave the keys inside the car; no check was done or documents printed/given for the drop-off. A week later my credit car was charged with $571.71, 5 payments of $100 and one for $71.71 ?????? SERVICE CHARGES/TAXES CONCESSION FEE RECOVERY 11.11 % T $ 45.71 VEHICLE LICENSING COST RECOVERY 3.08 % T $ 10.50 CFC & FL SRC T $ 75.20 Late Return Fee Accepted @ $ 12.00 per day T $ 60.00 Security/M and O Accepted T $ 2.00 TAX 7.000% ON TAXABLE TTL OF $ 534.31 $ 37.40 I called Hertz for an explanation and they said that I returned the car on Monday, 04/29/2024, charging me for 10 days instead of 4 as I reserved and used the car. LIES!! Then, I called my credit card to claim the funds and they reversed the six transactions. Two days later, Hertz charged again my credit card with the total of $571.71. After that no answer was received from Hertz. Beyond the extra money charged, which was not correct, this was a very dangerous situation because they could use the car for any illegal action or be involved in an accident or something like that could compromise my name. Hertz Rental Car is a t*******, l****, s******* fraud company and *** should review and warn them for all the inconsistencies and issues they have been involved.
