      The customer service at Hertz needs major improvement when the only option they give you is to email back and forth with someone (Iris B. Customer Correspondence Administrator) who clearly cannot read their own companies invoices. The process for resolving issues that the company itself created should not be as taxing as it is.

      I booked a gas car in Edinburgh Scotland. When I arrived to pick up the car. I was told they only had EV’s. As I was not going very far and did not have the time to charge it. The representative told me to buy the prepay and they would refund me the difference. Made sense at the time. When I returned,I was charged for using 3/4 of the battery. Actually, I only used 1/3. I called Hertz and the rep said there was nothing I could do and there was no one who would talk to me going forward. This is not the answer I was expecting. Creating an environment where common sense would say, it was Hertz’s fault for not having a gas car. Instead, they did everything they could to make my experience with them a nightmare.       Incident occurred roughly between 8:30 PM and 9:45 PM on 8/25/23 My company card was declined, so I left the line to address the issue. Upon returning approximately an hour later, there were two hertzr employees, one African male and one taller Hispanic male, were present. I approached the Hispanic male for assistance. Due to it being Sunday and my company was closed. I was unable to use my company card and sought to modify my rental for one day until the matter with my company card was resolved. I encountered an issue while attempting to use one of my credit cards which lacked chip or tap capabilities, and was solely designed for swiping. Regrettably, the agent informed me that this particular card could not be used, and that manual entry of the card number was prohibited by company policy. After momentarily stepping out of line to take a phone call, I returned to find a long line. However,the Hispanic gentleman noticed and ushered me to the front line.He then asked me, "Do you now have a credit card that works?" in front of two customers. I replied, "Yes." so he logged into another computer while working with the other two customers and took my ID and credit card and charged it $1.00. He then verbally gave me the total and said in front of the customers, "Do you have that much on your credit card?" At that moment, I experienced overwhelming feelings of shame and revulsion as he attempted to publicly expose and humiliate me. I then grabbed my card and ID from him said I'm over your attitude and left. I have concerns about the treatment I received, and I am contemplating escalating the issue. Regardless of the reasons behind the treatment, I believe it was unfair and raised questions of racial profiling as a black male. Regardless of race, no one should be humiliated like I was rich or poor, black or white.

      Hertz DFW Airport Hertz's vehicle broke down while driving. Leaving my 2 year old, 5 month old and wife stranded while I rode with the car in a tow truck to the service center. I dropped the car off and the service manager drove me over to the rental car place. The vehicle I was driving was a Chevrolet Equinox, the desk said my reservation is for a standard sedan (as a gold, five star you arrive and find your name listed on a board and choose from the lot/location next to your name). They then assigned me a sedan that was too small for two car seats, luggage, a stroller, etc. I told them I need a Equinox or larger, especially since that's what I already was driving. The agent and manager both said there is nothing they can do for me. They saw me as a number on a screen or just another account. Showed no empathy or even a hint of care to help me in finding something or offering assistance in anyway. My rental is still active and I do not even have a vehicle with them. I can't get anyone from the actual rental place on the phone. All the customer service is automated and when you speak with a real person they transfer you all over the place because they don't know what to do or don't want to handle the situation. This is the poorest customer service I've ever experienced.

      If I could give this business no stars I would , I’ve had the worse experience with them recently which included renting a vehicle for **** that was not in safe conditions to drive, the staff was very rude and unfriendly treating you poorly. The management was not helpful at all or willing to help with the issues that we’re going on with the vehicle. First of all they gave me a vehicle that was extremely low on coolant and did not check before they gave it to me. The car also had transmission problems, I rented it for $350 when the website said a price that was lower than they could not help me put the coolant and send me off to a place to get it done as soon as I picked up the vehicle I then attempted to do **** rides in the vehicle, but it was so unsafe that I ended up having to return it because they will not would not help me in exchange the vehicle or a refund, this company does not care about their customers and only care about making money from vehicles that are unsafe .

      I booked an *** about 6 weeks ago with Booking.com, and selected Hertz Car Rental, *************************************, ************** confirmed my booking. The day I am supposed to pick up the **** I called a couple of hours before pickup to confirm the location, and shockingly the ***resentative who answered the phone (name: *****) told me that he does not have a car for me. I asked how could this be? I need the *** to go my important trip in about 2 hours from now. He told me that he called me in the morning to let me know the *** is not available. I asked him what number did you call, because I have not received any calls. He gave me a number. Obviously it was not my number and do not know who it belongs to. I said what can I do now, I need to have an *** in a couple of hours. He answered that there is nothing he could do. He was not helpful at all.I tried to reach Hertz main number, they put me on hold for about 20 minutes and then a *** came on the line, and her answer was they do not have any ***s available in the whole area around me. Only mid size cars are available, which it is not big enough to carry the luggages I have.Hertz car rental customer service is the lowest I have ever experienced, and will never rent from them again!

      Horrible CUSTOMER service, They noticed a crack on the windshield which wasn't noticed by me. You had to lift the wiper to noticed and it was on the black part. Ok I tried to dispute it with **************** and was denied twice. CHECK YOUR CAR. Within 2 week they sent me to a collection agency. Would not even talk to me. Received a bill for the glass from them and the collection agency wants over 100 more than the bill. Never have I talked with such rude people at Hertz and there collection agency. I will pay there glass coverage but will not pay the extras. I will never rent from them or there other brands Dollar and Thrifty even for less money no one should be treated this way! **************

      My car was in service 8/15/25 so rented a car for ***** dollar a day car, returned the next day! My husband returned the car and the hertz associate say ok your good, never did a walk around when car was returned..then I seen ****** charge on my card , I called ****** there worker and he said he smelled smoke in the car ! And when he turned on the air conditioner he smelled smoke no way! My husband did not smoke in that car, you can't assume that and never called him to say about his discovery..really what a scam and I've read there reviews and I'm not the only one they did this too..I've called several times spoke with a so call manager ***** and he went to his boss to have her call me , no one returns my call well I think if you don't call you are guilty of scams and ********.. A ***** car turned into ****** fee ..called corporate number they pick up and hung up..I've never experienced this in my life. Any suggestions for help?

      During the Crowd Strike computer glitch on July 19, 2024, Hertz changed its car rental prices on a midsize car to about $400 per day. This was price gouging at it's finest. I will never rent from Hertz again.

      Don't rent from Hertz, I have a collection agency coming after me for a accident that eas not my fault, I had full coverage from Hertz and other parties insurance, they just let go to collection not going after others.Can't contact anyone that can help
