      I had a reservation with Hertz ****** -********* location to rent a SUV 12/26/22 thru 01/04/23 but when arriving to pick up the vehicle I was informed that no vehicles were available and that this had been known already by 12/24/22 but no customer notifications had been issued. We were several customers left stranded. When I sought to cancel the reservation, the Hertz office told me they were not authorized to do so and referred me to the **************** phone service, where I waited on hold for 20 minutes without reaching anyone. When trying to cancel the reservation on the Hertz website, I was (repeatedly) asked " Do you really want to cancel the reservation" and when responding "Yes" the system every time froze and would not let me continue. This occurred at least ten times, using different devices. Finally, after another 30 minute wait, we were able to cancel by phone. This is failing customer service at each step of the way. Avoid renting from Hertz!

      Booked a full size luxury car over a week in advance. Day of pick up am given a small suv. I could have booked that for $100 less. Explain I don't want an suv, get told too bad. Had to adjust my plans due to this. Held my deposited for 3 Weeks and only released it after I called 5 times because I feel I didn't get what I paid for. In the end was told too bad. That's the motto over there. ********** customer service isn't even this bad. Last resort only!

      Stay away from this company. Landed at LAX at 9 pm and took bus to this rental facility. Made car reservation 2 months in advance. Got to Hertz and they had ZERO cars available. Was told it would be up to 3 hours before a car would be available. Guess what - 6 hours later of standing outside in the freezing cold until 4 am and still no car - Called an Uber. My estimate is there were at least 100 other people standing in line all night. Absolute JOKE of a company. Their moto is "lets Go" well I say Hertz can "lets Go" to HELL. Never again Hertz. USE ANY OTHER CAR RENTAL COMPANY.

      Really wanted to give zero stars. I booked with them, through Priceline. It was late, when we tried to get the vehicle. The card they had on file, was not the one I had used to pay for it. So, they wouldnt give us the vehicle. All customer service offices were closed, so our only option was to rent a different vehicle, same vehicle new rental, for $1100, for 6 days. I had already prepaid $600, for same rental. In trying to find a resolution, when the offices opened again, they were only willing to refund $518. It was made clear to me, that I had no other recourse, or a higher supervisor to speak to. If we hadnt had the funds to pay for the 2nd rental, we would have been stuck walking from the airport. None of them seemed to care. I will never use them, or any of their affiliates again.

      I reserved a rental on 12/01/22 for 12/23-27/22, and I paid for my rental and insurance during that time. They called me on 12/23/22 around 11 in the morning, which is the day I was suppose to leave to tell me they didnt have a car for me! So after 30 minutes on the phone with them, they told me they will have a suburban for me at 4. I get there the time I suppose to and they still didnt have a vehicle for me! We waited over a hour just to leave with nothing! I was really upset because my family and I were supposed to leave that day to travel out of state for Christmas! So due to last minute we were unable to travel for the Christmas weekend! They are a disappointment! I never rented with them before! That was my first and last time ever trying to rent from them!

      Hertz rental car company is horrible. I kept going back due to the cheaper price. I refused to ever use them again. Last experience for so awful and down right the worst customer service I have ever received. Accusatory verbiage, going into the back room while I was at counter and loud laughter regarding my situation heard from where I was standing. Lies, unknowledgeable, rude, frustrating and down right terrible in every way. No one should ever have to be treated this way. This was at the ******* ** Airport location. I had rented a car through their Thrifty car rental, I was a Gold Star member with Hertz just so you can see how much I know how the process goes. I will never rent from them ever again and I also have a free rental I never used do to their ridiculous hoops you have to jump through just to use.

      First I would like to say if I could give Hertz a lower rating I would...I am the Office Manager to a towing company that was dispatched by the authorities due to Hertz vehicle being used in a theft. We towed the vehicle to our lot and it sat in storage for several weeks. Hertz paid the storage fees and ,hook fees that was owed on this vehicle...Then they wanted us to tow it to a location which we agreed for a fee...Hertz then paid that fee which was a separate invoice from the original tow from the authorities , however in the middle of us doing this tow, they decided that wanted to have it towed to a further location, we told them the fee would be more, they told us no they wouldn't pay it so it stayed at the lot till another company came and picked it up...they were told it would be 100 percent GOA on the phone when the tow was inquired for delivery from our lot to the original destination..so to make a long story short they did a chargeback and won because they stated we were not giving permission from them to tow their vehicle even though the first tow was dispatched by the authorities sadly merchant services ruled in the favor of Hertz .They stole money from a towing company they owed money to....

      Was hoping to give a zero star if I could, but I had the worst experience ever during my trip to ********/ **********. I was given a rental car to utilize and the next day I got a flat tire, called roadside assistance and told me there would be a charge for the tire change. During my emergency moment I went ahead and gave the OK to change it since I was going to be needing it. The next day I called them to ask why I should be paying a charge for a flat tire repair, all they told me was because I did not purchase their "premium roadside assistance". My argument to them was they gave me a vehicle which was in very bad condition. There was for some reason already a spare tire in the front passenger right side and now with a flat to the right side passenger rear there was going to be another spare tire added. After explaining all this to the Hertz customer service member, they told be they cannot do anything and that it does not matter if the car is in good or bad condition that I did not purchase the "premium roadside assistance" and upon purchasing it will only cover "mechanical" issues only. In other words even, if I got a flat tire with the "premium" purchase I still would get charged for a flat tire repair. Which sounds very stupid.My other issue was once the *** guy who came out to help change the tire, told me to drive no more than 50 mph with the spare tire. which was another frustration on me.This is why I am putting this review in here and hoping maybe the BBB can see it and do something about Hertz.I do not recommend Hertz at all, they are not a good rental car service to be doing business with.

      NEVER EVER USING HERTZ AGAIN!!!!! ??????On a family vacation in ******** and our rental has died TWICE. Weve been stranded two times waiting for AAA to jump us. Completely disrupting our vacation, missing reservations and having to cancel plans. we had to drive all the way back to the Hertz in the ******** airport to trade in our car (which died for a third time as soon as we parked it), and we were greeted by ********* who was not only unapologetic, but completely rude to us. We had to request to speak to a manager who didnt even offer to discount our $1000 bill. We were finally upgraded a better car and given a discount for only one day after we requested something be done. The manager was ready to send us on way with zero discount and no upgrade. Extremely disappointed in the customer service at ******** airport location.
