We googled a hotel and this result came up, and appeared to be three hotel direct site. The price listed on the first booking page was equivalent to other booking sites and was in large bold font. However, at checkout, there was. $100 additional fee over and above the actual hotel fee (which was $30), This is far and above the customary amount and beyond any typical booking fee.

The total was in a small font and there was no separate line item for the agency’s fee, it was listed as ‘taxes and fees’ with no breakdown (including no nearby click through).

Overall this felt like a deceptive practice, hiding a much larger than customary fee in a small font while using a site without clear branding to indicate it is a third party, including using deceptive subdomains. This is clearly intentional and may violate laws related to advertising the entire fee early in the booking process.

My experience was like many others filed on here. We thought we were directly making a reservation with a La Quinta, but it was this company on a third party site. They are experts at making things look identical to the official LaQuinta site. I started my reservation and chose the rate of $129 per night for three nights. After putting in my information and credit card, I clicked reserve and when I did I noticed the company had added an additional $218 in Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees). I immediately backed out of the site and closed the window but their system said the reservation had been confirmed, even though we did not hit a confirmation button. We immediately contacted the company and were told we could cancel the reservation, but there would be no refund. When we showed up at La Quita, we were told at the front desk that the reservation had been cancelled, but we had not done so. I believe it was done by this company.
Laquita gave us a new reservation and agreed not to charge us since they could see we had paid it to this company on our credit card already. We contested the charge with our credit card company and we were denied. I am done doing any reservations on line. We paid a 50% extra fee and won’t do that again. Too many companies, including this one who are ripping people off.

This is not the hotel!! The website appears to be the hotels but read the small print. You will be charged for a room and an additional approx $50. When confirmation invoice was received, I hastily cancelled (without reading that it was non refundable, as any reputable business would refund the charges. I also immediately called and was told that they cancelled reservation and would not refund my money. They said to call hotel to see if they would honor it. I called the hotel and they said that they had not been paid and that this company should refund the charges. They had had similar complaints about this company. I called back, offered to pay the inflated fee but company refused to reinstate reservation or refund. I was told a supervisor would call me back and never received a call back. I called the next day and was told they would not reinstate reservation nor refund my money.

This is a complete scam! They should be taken down. I was completely tricked into using their site and booking through them.

I needed to cancel (a month and a half in advance) due to an emergency and they asked me personal details about the emergency. I told them that was private and they could not ask me that.

They lied about the room rate and ended up slapping on fees that doubled the cost! If I had known I was using a third party booking site I would have never used them, but they trick you into thinking you are using the hotel's actual website!

Like many others I believed I was booking directly through the hotel since that was where I was at, on the hotels website, but upon completion of booking I received my email confirmation that showed an additional $95 for service and fees. I immediately contacted this third party, Guest Reservations, that I suddenly was booked thru to cancel the booking stating that it was false advertising and they refused to cancel for a full refund. When booking it never stated any additional fees for the third party, it never even stated I was going thru a third party......SCAM.....and it got me. I'm going to try to dispute with my credit card since Guest Reservations refuse to have any honor at all. Fraudulent.

Bait and switch. Advertise as cad and charge in usd. 129 room ended up costing almost 300. Will not do anything about their site misinformation. Made it seem like I was booking directly with the hotel. Scam Scam Scam.

Guest Reservations is a deceptive and fraudulent company!!!

I made this reservation around August 19th., under the assumption that it was Free cancellation before 12pm November 19, 2023. When the amount of the entire reservation popped up for $603.31, I immediately, within one minute, canceled the reservation.
The amount I paid was $603.31 and they refunded back to me, $177.47.
Apparently in the policies section, that only 1% of the population reads, it states that the charge to cancel would be $425.84. But yet on the very front page for reserving, it states free cancellation. This is totally deceptive and I canceled within a minute of reserving, so the room wasn't even blocked yet and they are still going to charge me this $425.84???? THIS IS BS!!!

I'm currently working with the MN Attorney Generals Office and will be filing a lawsuit with small claims court.
