FRAUD & SCAM!! I recently made a hotel reservation on my cell phone and thought I was on the hotel's reservation site (the 2 websites are essentially identical). I booked 2 nights at $109/night plus tax. Upon booking, I received an email confirming the reservation which was now well over $600 and the entire amount was immediately charged to my credit card which is very unusual for any hotel (credit cards are charged upon check-out not at booking). I checked the transaction and discovered that $220 in service fees were part of the credit card charge. The service fees are listed UNDER the tab that says "MAKE RESERVATION NOW" so it is IMPOSSIBLE to see then prior to booking. When I cancelled the reservation I received a message that the entire amount is non-refundable! DO NOT USE this WEBSITE! Always book directly through the hotel.

Like some of the people below I found I had been scammed by this company. When I spoke with one of the representatives I was told he could not get through to the hotel so I called the hotel directly and discovered he had spoken with them twice. All the hotel told them was that I had no reservation with the hotel since I had already cancelled the reservation. After a few more queries I got the advice to cancel my credit card which I did. I felt it was only right and proper to notify them of my actions so I made a reply to the only post I had from them that did not have a "noreply" address but it immediately bounced because that address doesn't accept incoming mail either. My customer rating, if only this site would accept it would be -5 or maybe -10.

When I made a same-day booking I thought I was on the hotel's reservation site. The taxes and fees were not shown until after I made the reservation, which was 54 percent of the room rental! When I called customer support, they said they didn't have any managers available. Total scammers.

Terrible company to work with. I also thought I was booking with the hotel directly. Turns out I wasn’t. I needed to leave early as I was staying under an insurance claim that ultimately got denied.

Spoke with customer service. They said it would be funded as long as the hotel was OK with it. I spoke with the hotel they were OK with it. The agent I spoke with on the phone for this company said that it would be fine, so I checked out a day early. Just received an email saying that it was denied, and that a refund would not be happening night of stay.

    Fraudulent company DO NOT USE

When you make reservations their website doesn’t have any indication that you are booking non refundable but you will never get your money back even if the site lets you cancel a room. scammers.

I also thought I was dealing directly with the hotel, but somehow I inadvertently made my reservation through this site. Thankfully I didn't have to cancel, but they charged me about $400 to book with them and my whole room charge for 4 nights was only $550. It is AWFUL customer service. I would give zero stars if I could

While booking I did not realize that I am not on Super 8 website. This is a third party website. And not realizing it I did not pay attention to how much service fee they charge. I paid $139 for one night stay at super 8. While same one night booking through Expedia costed me just $100. This company is relying on users who in a hurry will ignore total amount. The service fees charged should be more prominent. I will never again use any company other than Expedia.

Exactly what the others have been saying. This is a fraudulent company that pretends to be the actual hotel website and scams users into thinking they're booking directly through the hotel. I had read the policy on changes to reservations and changed my duration of staying from 2 nights to 1 night well in advance of the cancellation / change policy (provided both by the hotel I was staying at AND the policy provided by Guest Reservations). I realized something was off when I checked out of the hotel and they said the booking receipt had not been provided to me because I had booked through a third party. Upon scrutinizing my booking confirmation receipts more closely, I realized the confirmation receipt had been sent from a domain called "Guest Reservations" and that the confirmation formatting and domain name looked very vendor neutral--something you might see from a standard hotel generated booking confirmation. Upon calling customer service, it was strongly implied to me that because I had made the reservation change with the hotel directly, it "didn't count" as a reservation modification within the timeframe as required per policy. The representative on the phone implied that the phone call I was making to follow-up was considered a "late change" not made in advance, and that unless the hotel I stayed at had issued the refund for the one unused night when I made the change several weeks ago, there was nothing they could do. I informed the representative that I had a detailed receipt w/confirmation of the change made well within the parameters of the required policy, but he would not accept it. This is a fraudulent, dishonest company that scams its users with misleading advertisements and strategically placed ads to prey on unsuspecting users and cheat them out of money--$311.76, to be specific, in my particular case. I would not be surprised if they receive a lawsuit from a disgruntled party soon in the near future.

I booked a stay with the Pangea Pod Hotel, 4333 Sunrise Alley, Whistler, V8E 1M7, CA for a 2 night stay 16th Feb-18thFeb, 2024. The cost for my 2 night stay came to CAD 721.20. When I checked my billing information I saw that I have been charged CAD 218.01 in Tax recovery charges and service fees. The cost of the room itself is CAD 251.90 so I was surprised that I was paying almost the same amount in taxes which I paid for the room. I checked with the Hotel and they confirmed that the taxes are only 16% and apart from that they do not have additional charges. I contacted the Guest reservations on why I am paying such a big amount in taxes on which they said that they have to pay it to the hotel in the form of "Resort fee, Cleaning fees and other fees" which was entirely incorrect information, as I contacted the hotel directly about these charges. When I confronted them, they happily refunded a token CAD 50, knowing fully well that they are in the wrong.

Moreover, I had been led to believe that I was booking directly with the Pangea pod Hotel. I later learned that a company called Guest Reservations disguised themselves/ represented themselves falsely as the Pangea Pod Hotel. I was not aware of these charges at the time of booking, only after I had made the reservation and the payment had gone through. The charges are fraudulent and the company misrepresented itself in making them. On checking with Hotel I got the confirmation that they haven't received the payment yet so, I insist on cancelling this reservation and issue a full refund CAD 721.70 as I do not wish to continue with my booking through guest reservation website, which was made under undisclosed and fraudulent circumstances. I will be filing for a dispute with my bank as well if the refund is not issued.

I went to book a stay at Holiday Inn Express for a vacation in a few months. I deliberately went to what I thought was the hotel's own site, since family members have had a bad experience with third party sites like Expedia.
The site looked legit, and the rate was reasonable, and so I put in my credit card and other info, expecting to get a total of costs before actually booking. That didn't happen. Instead, I got a confirmation e-mail with a $220 "service charge" I would never have approved had I known, since it was about 40 percent if the quoted price! That's when I realized, to my dismay, that I had not been on Holiday Inn's site at all, but on a fraudulent one that took advantage of Google search options, and also had an URL that could reasonably be thought to belong to the hotel and went straight to booking options. I immediately checked my credit card, and saw there was a pending charge, one that was marked as Holiday Inn Express, even though the actual hotel was clearly not involved.
I went to the confirmation e-mail, hit the link to cancel, was asked several times to change my mind, then told I had to pay $210 for a cancellation service charge.
I then contacted my bank and asked them to take the still pending full charge off my card. They said they couldn't do that, but urged me to dispute it once it posts. Since I have documentation that these scammers agreed to refund most of the money, I know I can dispute any full charges. However, I still plan to dispute their cancellation fee, since they are dishonest and scummy in their business practices. I rebooked with actual Holiday Inn. They and other chains need to crack down on this company before it drags them into the mud too.
