Guest Reservations is a big rip off. I thought I was on hotel website when making reservations and realized it too late that it was third party….GUEST RESERVATIONS. $275 tax/fees!!!!! I called the credit card to freeze it and the charge was already pending. So then I called them the company directly and asked to cancel the hotel. If I wanted to cancelled it, it’ll be…..$571 cancellation fee!!! WHAT!!! WRONG WRONG WRONG!! I’m hoping there’s a way to get out of this.

When I booked a room with them, they do not tell you the fees upfront at all. And they DO NOT tell you the terms and conditions BEFORE you book your room. There is NO BOX to click on to except the terms and conditions. They are in business to rip people off. That's It!! Something has to be done to put these people out of business. They get a -5.

    Guestreservations.com

DO NOT USE Guestreservations.com to book any of your hotels reservations.

There is an additional service charge of $447.63 for booking it through the site.

I booked the hotel for 2 nights for the price of $521 (I’m a resident and can get the price for $515).

No where visible does it state their additional service fees that they call “Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees”

I could have book additional night for that service fee.

I called the hotel directly and asked how much would it have been if I booked it directly with the residents discount and total with hotel amenities and tax about $610 per night.

So I’m paying additional $227.63 and additional $40 per night for hotel amenities that’s not included. With the total it is not rock bottom prices. False advertisement. I should have just called hotel directly.

No where visible was this extra fee was stated nor did it say additional hotel $40 per night will need to be paid at the hotel.

Only in the email was the breakdown of the “Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees”.

I called Guestreservations.com “Customer Care” and they kept rerouting the conversation to their cancelation policy.

Which I saw visibly on website but not the additional fee. I was my fault to proceed with paying the $1,447.63 thinking it was hotel fees. But then I got the confirmation email with the breakdown and I was appalled that $447.63 was for the website service fees and doesn’t even include hotel amenities.

False advertisement. Not transparent to what the fees are prior to booking.

Customer Care ended up giving me $104 (will be processed in 5days) credit back.

They are a scam company. Exorbitant fees. They show up on sites as being the actual hotel.

If I could give them a MINUS status I would.

They highjacked Embassy Suites website. Told me a room I had reserved was not available, then upgraded me to a more expensive room. My original reservation was refundable. During the upgrade they switched me to NONFUNDABLE, not what i wanted! but I didn't see the change. They charged me $875 for 2 nights stay instead of the $600 from Hilton site.

The Guest Reservation company disguises themselves as the actual hotel and then steals your money adding non refundable fees, in my case $1000 over the. Cost for the hotel. A Total Scam!!!! I would give zero stars if I could

Duped like everyone else. You think you are booking directly through the hotel (in my instance) only to find out at checkout tbat it is a thrid party with high service fees and it books before you can cancel.

This business is impersonating reputable motels and fooling people into making reservations with them. They add huge fees after you confirm a reservation. They charged me well above the actual cost of the motel and I had no idea I had been scammed until the motel asked me to pay the fees and taxes they claim were due when i checked out.
This is clearly fraud and nobody is doing a thing about it!

Similar to what others have said.

Booked a room for two nights on my phone as we drove to see my dying mother-in-law (thinking they were Holiday Inn Express) and the reservation got an error message page, so booked it again.

Ended up with two reservations and immediately called to cancel one. Was told I'd be charged a penalty of one night's stay. Persisted on the phone and asked for the supervisor and was told the old gag, "She's in a meeting." The agent did put me on hold and called the hotel and canceled both reservations. (I then called the hotel directly and made a reservation.)

My credit card was charged by them $415 that day (March 2, 2024) and I was told repeatedly via email that I would get a refund in 5 - 7 business days.

15 business days later I emailed them and they said (again) the refund would process within 5 - 7 business days and blamed Bank of America for not posting it.

They invited me to call their 800 "customer care" line which is an automated reservation line and you cannot get an agent on.

By the way, their email to me threatened that if I disputed the charge, as others here have experienced, they'd cancel my refund. Pretty sure it's my consumer right to dispute any credit card charge, which is what I'm doing right now with BoA. Luckily I have an email trail from these scam artists saying they processed my refund.

To paraphrase Hill Street Blues, let's be careful out there when making travel reservations.
