Tickets-center led me to believe that they were the actual venue I was trying to buy tickets for. After I bought the tickets I got a message that said I would get the tickets the day before the concert and that made me suspicious. I did more checking and found that this was a scam. I tried to request a refund but they said all sales were final. When I looked at the ticket price at the venue for seats in the same section the price they charged me was more than three times higher ($330 for 2 tickets instead of $99).Business Response

Thank you for reaching out to us. At Tickets-Center, we value our customers and would like to take the time to address our customer’s concerns. It should be noted that Tickets-Center is an online resale marketplace, which means we do not own or generate tickets—instead, we merely facilitate transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers. Our customer has stated that they believed they were purchasing through the website for the venue or of the event itself. However, it should be noted that our web address and website branding are intentionally different from those of any other site. The top of every event and ticket listing page clearly states, “Fast, easy and secure secondary marketplace tickets. Prices may be above or below face value."
When placing their order our customer was required to select a check box signifying their agreement to our terms stating, "I agree to the Terms & Privacy Policy. I have reviewed the order summary below. I understand that this site displays resale tickets and that prices may be above face value. I understand that this site is not affiliated with any box office or venue. All sales are final. There are no refunds, exchanges or cancellations. All prices are listed in US Dollars. Some venues may require proof of vaccination or negative COVID test. You are responsible for checking venue health and safety requirements for entry." Below the terms, our customer’s order total breakdown was provided. Directly below the “Place Order” our customer was presented with the message, "By clicking "Place Order", your credit card will be charged $330.45 which includes ticket, service, and delivery fees." at which time our customer proceeded to place their order.
Due to the nature of the secondary marketplace, Tickets-Center does own or generate any tickets and therefore does not set or control the ticket delivery date. Rather, the estimated ship date is set by the individual seller of the tickets and is dependent upon the primary issuer of the tickets, with which Tickets-Center has no affiliation. Since our customers are purchasing tickets owned and listed by individual resellers, we must ensure that our policies are fair to both parties. This means that we are unable to offer refunds and must adhere to an “all sales are final” policy—a standard throughout the industry. Please note, all purchases made on our website are covered by our 100% Guarantee, which ensures that tickets are authentic and will arrive before the event. If the customer has any additional concerns pertaining to their order, we encourage them to contact out customer service department.

Tickets-center.com displayed tickets for Dave Matthews Band at 6:30pm on July 15 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia MD. I bought 5 of these. After paying they sent me an email with a button to “Accept” tickets for some band called Illenium. (We did not attend the concert; never heard of that band; not what we were seeking) I didn’t realize this and clicked accept. This was a bait and switch. I called in, they couldn’t cancel and pointed me towards the insurance policy I purchased. They refused to cancel, but they tricked me with a bait and switch. This was deceptive behavior; they scammed me out of $707.50 and won’t fix it.

It should be noted that Tickets-Center is an online resale marketplace, which means we do not own or generate tickets—instead, we merely facilitate transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers. The top of every event and ticket listing page clearly states, “Secondary market tickets. Prices may be above face value”
Once our customer selected the ticket listing they desired for Illenium, they were able to see the tickets available and the Delivery Method. After confirming their selection, they were directed to input their email address. Please note that here, customers are provided with an order summary that displays the event details, ticket location, and number of tickets the customer has selected on the right-hand side. This breakdown detailed the price per ticket, all fees, and the total charge of $707.50 in bold text prior to entering any payment information. Once our customers input their payment and billing information, they were prompted to click “Continue” and under this button it states: “Your account will not be charged yet.” Then, our customer is required to select a check box signifying their agreement to these terms stating, “I agree to the Terms & Privacy Policy. I have reviewed the Order Summary above. I understand that this site displays resale tickets and that prices may be above face value. I understand that this site is not affiliated with any box office or venue. All sales are final. There are no refunds, exchanges, or cancellations. All prices are listed in US Dollars." Below the terms, our customer’s order total breakdown is reiterated. Directly below the “Place Order” our customer was presented with the message, "By clicking 'Place Order,' your credit card will be charged $707.50 which includes ticket, service, and delivery fees" at which time our customer proceeded to place their order.
Due to the nature of our business on the secondary marketplace, Tickets-Center is not affiliated with any artist or venue and does not own inventory; instead, we act as an intermediary between customers and sellers. All prices listed on our site are done so by the individual seller, not Tickets-Center, based on their personal assessments regarding a range of factors including customer demand. Since our customers are purchasing tickets owned and listed by individual resellers, we must ensure that our policies are fair to both parties. This means that we are unable to offer refunds and must adhere to an “all sales are final” policy—a standard throughout the industry.
In addition to this current claim, our customer has filed a dispute with their Paypal account regarding this order. We are unable to provide a resolution to this matter while this dispute remains open due to the nature of the dispute process. We encourage our customer to contact the institution with which the dispute was filed in relation to any questions they may have regarding its process or outcome. As it currently stands, we consider this matter closed.

On November 14th, 2022, I mistakenly purchased tickets from this company and immediately called to cancel the order moments after ordering them. I was told that my order could not be cancelled per their policy. I disputed the charge with my bank and after a 3 month investigation, it was decided that the sale was valid and the funds were released to ticket-center.com in the amount of $3707.50. This was decided on January 26th, 2023.
On June 15th, I reached out via their live chat to find out where my tickets were and I was informed at 9:24 AM that 3 of my 5 tickets were resold and I would be receiving a refund for them. It was discussed to resell the remaining two tickets and our discussion was concluded.
On June 16th, I received that refund of 1950.50 for 3 of the 5 tickets.
I reached out on July 11th via their live chat to inquire about the remaining tickets or the refund. I was advised the remaining two tickets were sold.
I called and spoke with Tickets-center.com representative explaining the situation and was advised the refund was for all 5 tickets. 3 Tickets were sold on 1/31/23 and 2 tickets were sold on 6/15/23 an hour before I even reached out. This means that Tickets-Center.com still has 1757.00 and is refusing to refund me this money from my order since they resold my tickets without my knowledge.Business Response

As noted in the claim, our customer filed a dispute with their financial institution regarding their transaction. We have addressed this, and the dispute was ultimately ruled in our favor. The financial dispute our customer opened was facilitated and determined by the customer's financial institution rather than Tickets-Center.
Our terms of sale indicate that "in the event that you dispute a charge and it is determined that the charge was valid and not the result of credit card or other payment fraud, we have the right to seek payment, including all associated fees, by whatever means necessary, including using collection agencies and legal proceedings. We may also mitigate our damages by relisting and selling, as the case may be, the tickets that are the subject of the underlying payment dispute." As such the customer's tickets were resold on their behalf and they have been compensated accordingly. We would like to clarify that the refunded amount of $1,950.50 represents the full amount for the sale of all five of their tickets. As it stands the customer does not qualify for any further resolution. If our customer has any further questions regarding this dispute, we encourage them to reach out to the financial institution with which it was filed.

I bought 2 tickets from Tickets-Center to watch Notre Dame in Lincoln Center last week. I paid $230 for each ticket after tax and fee. When I went to the theater, I realized the ticket only worths $49 and the seat was in the 4th floor and along the side walk! Moreover, the occupancy rate of the show at that night was around 50% - 60%. Unsold seats were everywhere. This means it was not a popular show that requires people to pay premium to get a seat. I am very frustrated how Tickets-Center can sell tickets for the worst seat with a 4 times premium charge. I called them for explanation. But the customer service staff can only say they are a 3rd party and sell tickets from the 2nd party they even don't know.
I have attached the original tickets invoice from Tickets-Center, the ticket and the standard ticket price from Lincoln center's website for reference.
I hope no other consumer like me will have similar issue from Ticket-Center. This website is a scan to charge much higher premium for tickets.Business Response

Tickets-Center.com mimics the true website for kcstarlight.com to lead you to believe you are purchasing tickets directly from the theater. On the day of the show when I tried to get my tickets. I click on the link url: wallet.kc starlight.com because this company took my money and did not legitimately even have tickets from a seller. I paid $390.00 for tickets and a parking pass and do not have tickets. I also purchased tickets for another up coming show at the same time for around $500.00 and have no tickets. Emails that they send have buttons that do not work like contact us. When you call they send you an email with a link to the legitimate wallet.kcstarlight.com which of course doesn’t have the tickets in there. I called the legitimate box office and purchased legitimate tickets for $150.00 which is what I will do in the future due to Ticket-Center.com. The company should cease to exist due to the harm they cause consumers.Business Response

During the checkout process, customers are able to view the delivery format for their tickets. The selection the customer made was electronic transfer, where sellers transfer the tickets using the platform that the venue has issued tickets through. Customers receive an email with instructions on how to access their tickets, as well as a separate email which contains a link to claim their tickets, advising them to do so. If a customer does not see the transfer that was sent to the email address they provided at checkout, the email they received with instructions on how to access their tickets advises them to contact the customer care team immediately. Furthermore, if customers encounter any issues with accessing their tickets through their link, they are welcome to contact the care team for troubleshooting.
On 7/8/23 our customer service agents spoke with the customer and attempted to troubleshoot. The records indicate that the original ticket transfer took place on 5/29/23 for their Legally Blonde and Jagged Little Pill and on 6/2/23 for Jagged Little Pill Parking and no issues were detected with the original transfers. As such, we maintain the customer’s orders was successfully fulfilled and aligns with the Buyer’s Guarantee. I am writing to highlight this company for scamming and attempt to get a refund for a purchase made 1 July for concert tickets on Tickets Center. I purchased 3 tickets for a concert in August and then questioned the legitimacy of the site and seller when I received a “confirmation” email with links that didn’t work to Contact them immediately if you had issues with the purchase. The total amount charge was not detailed in the email and it stated I would not get the e-tickets until 2 days before the event—which also didn’t seem legitimate given they are electronic. I called my credit card services less than 12 hours after to see if they could stop the transaction and the rep said no phone number was listed in the transaction. I sent an email to Tickets Center asking for the transaction to be voided and when they replied days later they said all transactions are final. I also called the phone number on the website (1800-8337698) and only connected to an automated message that said All sales are final and that they can not offer refunds. I issued a complaint with my credit card and the state AG. Since doing so, I did some research on the company and see they have a history of scamming customers and price gorging. I am hesitant to accept any email from this company and question how a company equivalent of scalpers could continue to operate and scam people.
My order number is 54985161 for $313.50. I’ve since learned I was charged over 3x face value with unclear service fees.Business Response

I purchased tickets to a concert on May 30, 2023. In a subsequent email, it was indicated that my e-tickets would be delivered on or before July 03, 2023. When I had heard nothing from Tickets Center about my tickets in a month, I emailed their customer service team on June 30, 2023. In that reply, I was promised that my tickets would arrive by 7:30PM on July 02, 2023. I received no Tickets on July 02 or July 03. The email states that I would receive my money back, but have not. In their FAQ questions page, it states they will keep my money as credit toward a future purchase. This was not indicated throughout the purchase process. Additionally, if one selects more tickets through their site, it's highly probable that those tickets would not arrive either and they just keep holding on to your money until you eventually stop bothering. I'd like a full return of my money, as they did not deliver what they promised in the time that they promised.Business Response

The top of every event and ticket listing page clearly states, “Fast, easy and secure secondary marketplace tickets. Prices may be above or below face value."
Due to the nature of our business on the secondary marketplace, Tickets-Center is not affiliated with any artist or venue and does not own inventory. All tickets listed on our site are managed and owned by professional ticket resellers and pre-screened individual sellers who have already purchased those tickets. We allow these sellers to resell their tickets in a secure, controlled e-commerce environment. All tickets sold on our website are covered by our 100% Guarantee which ensures the tickets will be valid and authentic. Because Tickets-Center acts as an intermediary between customers and sellers we must ensure that our policies are fair to both parties. This means that we are unable to offer refunds and must adhere to an “all sales are final” policy—a standard throughout the industry. If our customer has any further questions, we encourage them to contact our customer service team.
Regards,
Tickets-Center

Why choose a BBB Accredited Business?BBB Business Profiles may not be reproduced for sales or promotional purposes.
BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
