I have begged them to remove my elderly mom from their mailing list, and they continue to ask her for money. She is 90 with dementia, and they are preying on her!!!! The very company that claims to act in the best interest of seniors are actually exploiting them.

I called yesterday 1/13/2024 requesting a quote on car insurance. After all of the information was given, they were still higher than my current insurrer, and when I mentioned that I was told oh! We're not always the cheapest, then the conversation switched to my cellphone and giving me a discount on that. My comment is, how are seniors supposed to afford car insurance and other coverages with B.S. companies out here claiming to have our backs. My membership WILL NOT!! be renewed. When you're Wall Street owned you do what you're told.

Thank you for contacting AARP through the Better Business Bureau comment section. We have received your complaint and are sorry to hear of your experience. While competitive pricing is a major concern offering products to our members; value, service and availability are equally important in the development of our programs. We cannot unfortunately, guarantee rates in our programs will always be the lowest in every possible situation, but we are committed to making available benefits that are valuable in a variety of important ways to AARP members.

I unfortunately signed up again, I really wish I didn't...They sent my cards to the wrong place..It was a different City and State.
Trying to get a hold of AARP is almost a joke.
So now someone has my information..
      Really make me mad.

      Dear Ms. H*******,
We thank you for your 19 years as an active AARP member and appreciate your recent renewal. I will be emailing you separately with some additional information. Rest assured, your AARP membership cards and premium item have been on their way to your home address. The incorrect address you saw was due to a USPS system error that was revealed to us on 1/16. The USPS tracking number used for your items was incorrectly re-assigned by USPS to another shipment. The other addressee will be receiving a package meant for them and will have nothing that was meant for you. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
      Sincerely,
      Bruce

AARP is a SCAM organization that takes advantage of the elderly. My dad passed away two years ago and my mom is in her 80's. My mom did not know that both my parents were being charged monthly from their bank by AARP insurance. This is fraud. I am reporting them.

      Dear Ms. S****,
It was good to talk with you today. As I mentioned, we did receive a renewal payment in September 2023 and your cards were sent at that time. I have made arrangements to have new cards produced and expedited. We thank you for your patience as well as for your past and continued support.
      Sincerely,

I will never seek to use services from AARP ever again. If I were you I would find another business with better service that’s more reliable, and who would NOT steal your money - like how AARP did to me. On Christmas Eve at 6:30AM I used AARP’s online website to purchase a tow for my vehicle. That morning, it was cold and raining and I was on my way to work. As I purchased roadside assistance for $257.68 I was informed the assistance service would arrive to my destination in 1 hour and 30 minutes. Again, that morning was cold and raining and I’m miserable standing outside needing help. As I contacted another towing company they agreed to reach me within 35 minutes. After applying for AARP and contacting a secondary roadside assistance I immediately canceled my purchase with AARP and I read I would receive my refund within 1 to 3 days. I waited 4 days after Christmas and I still not have recieved my refund for the service I did not recieve! I contacted AARP and was transferred 5 times to be informed I would not receive a refund due to a purchasing liability waiver from the website. Again, I did not receive help and roadside assistance from AARP, canceled my order and I AARP still has my money for an assistance I did not receive! I expect better and hope we can fix this issue.

I would leave a 0 star review if possible. No wonder they run continuous advertisements on television stating that you can trust AARP, and that they are helping to protect our Social Security. Nothing could be farther than the truth, nothing but a moneygrab allowing seniors to live on crumbs. They have had decades to work on helping seniors and look where we stand.

Placed an order for 4 Carnival Cruise gift cards in the amount of $360.00 got an error. Contacted aarp customer service and was told it didn’t go through. I received a text message from my credit card of a charge in the amount of $360.00 called back and told them it went through because I was charged and it’s pending.
They told me they didn’t see the charge on their end. I called my credit card and was told yes aarp has charged your card. I still have not received my gift cards and I am highly upset. There are many others like myself who has been charged with no gift cards.. These gift cards are for my military family and now I’m here waiting on someone to help me so I can either file a dispute with my card or they send me my gift cards. I will never renew. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. Update your systems so that things can be processed properly.

      Dear Ms. S****,
I know our Consumer Care Ombudsman Team representative has reached out to you to explain there was an issue with your credit card and what you were seeing were "pending" charges and not actual debits. These should clear from your card account shortly.
We thank you for your active AARP membership as well as your participation in AARP Rewards and wish you a happy holiday season.
      Sincerely,

AARP rewards program, which I am a member of for many years, has become a program which has a huge flaw when it comes to their "daily deal." The program does not work when they have a popular gift card, i.e. Home Depot, Lowes, Kohls.

Whenever I try to purchase it, and I have tried many times, the program lets me add it to the cart and then says it is sold out. Each and every time I have tried at noon, when it starts. It is physically impossible to get these cards from their program.

I have complained and reported this to their customer service department and they have done absolutely NOTHING. It is a gimmick and leaves their customers' frustrated.

Don't pretend to offer these to customers...it is a total gimmick program. Again, only when it pertains to the popular gift cards; no issues for the ones that aren't.

Shame on AARP for continuing to offer something that does not exist and just makes customers' like me mad.

      Dear Mr. K****,
Thank you for your AARP membership and for your membership in AARP Rewards as well as for your comments.
Please be assured that all daily deals are genuine and are purchased by our loyal members, like yourself. As you noted, you've had positive experiences purchasing less popular items in the past. Regrettably, the most substantial discounts are in high demand, and the promotional inventory is limited in quantity.
Your feedback is valuable to us, and we have taken steps to extend availability by limiting the purchase of each daily deal to one per person.
Thank you for being a valued member of AARP Rewards.
      Happy Holidays.
      Sincerely,
      Bruce
