They refused to cancel my service after already billing me 189 for the quarter unless I paid 150 cancelation fee. My reason for canceling was their service tech showed up and slept in his truck for sometime then spent 5-10 minutes supposedly addressing ***** for wasps, and spraying for spiders. The tech said I refused service, I did not refuse service, I said inside my house was not part of contract just garage and exterior.Business Response

On May 7th, 2024 at 2:51pm a door to door solicitor with Ecoshield came up my driveway. I have 2 very visible NO TRESPASSING/NO SOLICTING signs. Both signs warn of both. The solicitor disregarded my sign and contacted my minor child BEHIND my 5ft privacy fence and told them to get an adult. He then tried to contact ME to pitch a sale. He acknowledge he saw the sign that said no trespassing. Again, same sign that says NO Solicting, but disregarded this. I tried to contact the business directly to remedy this issue. They have not responded to multiple emails. Their soliciting is a HUGE problem in every state. The company needs to acknowledge this problem, address it properly, train properly and contact me confirming they are addressing this. The videos are available through 6/6 here: *************************************************************************** and here: ***************************************************************************. Thereafter I may be able to attach files but they are large to attach to the complaint.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: The complaint is valid and your company is not taking this seriously. Your company is breaking laws left and right. Your company also doesn't have the correct licensing to do business in my city. I have checked with the city. Please address the original concerns outlined in my complaint, take the complaint seriously and respond appropriately.

A door to door salesman named ****** arrived at my home on Memorial Day of all days. Gave me what I feel may be a phony story about having serviced a house 1-2 blocks away which may result in an increase in black widows on my property. Upon this reveal, he immediately transitioned into an aggressive and honestly desperate sales pitch. This began despite the very clear No Soliciting sign on my door, and after he aggressively knocked on the door and rang the doorbell multiple times. I had to state several times "thanks but no thanks", and yet he persisted. After some time, as though to prove a point, he began tugging forcefully at the vinyl siding on my house, which I did not appreciate. After several minutes of this he seemed to finally accept my refusal for Ecoshield's services, and on his way off the property he first invited himself into my house in order to fill a water bottle, which I of course refused given this is a total stranger whom I don't know if I can even trust quite yet. Upon leaving, the face he made was clearly designed to make me feel guilty. If this is seriously how you expect to attain new business, then you should really do some reflecting on your practices. You're also very clearly scrubbing low reviews on ****** et al, as those 1-stars which remain all point to specific trends putting shady business and billing practices on display. Do not attempt to revisit my property ever again.Business Response

Dear ***,
I am deeply sorry to hear about your recent experience with our salesman, ******. His behavior, including aggressive knocking, a pushy sales pitch, and inappropriate actions like tugging at your siding and attempting to enter your home, is unacceptable and not reflective of EcoShields standards.
Your concern about black widows should have been addressed professionally, without any scare tactics. We will address ******* conduct urgently to prevent future incidents.
Regarding reviews, EcoShield is committed to transparency and values all customer feedback for improvement. Scrubbing reviews is not part of our practices.
Please feel free to contact us directly if you have further feedback. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

I am rejecting this response because:I'm being pedantic, but need to clarify something. Regarding your comments on my "concern with black widows" ... I did NOT previously have a concern with black widows on the property, and that's not what I told you. If you'll re-read the original complaint, you'll see that ****** used a story about black widow treatments 1-2 blocks over in order to begin his sales pitch. Black widows on the property, while always a possibility, were not on my mind as a current hazard and I don't appreciate the scare tactics.
Also please review the attached photo. A day or two after I opened my complaint, I saw him outside the house again. He did not ring the doorbell this time, however he was just standing there like a creep for a little while at the edge of my lawn, probably looking to see if my neighbor across the street was home so that he could go and ****** her. I don't want to see him on the property again.

I was introduced to Ecoshield solutions by my real estate agent when I needed pest solution September 2023, he explained to me that I was getting a discount because I was from my real estate agent but i have to be with him for atleast a year. He mentioned sending me an agreement and I am going to confess that I didnt fully read the agreement, I signed up for the service; a bi-monthly agreement to service my house for 169, I just didnt think there was any thing complicated, this is just pest control. First service is September was crappy, I called to complain, they came back and sprayed some more, second time in November, I still had issues and by January had roaches everywhere, I sent them a request to immediately come spray which they delayed because the closed the branch closest to me, I got someone else to do the service and he didnt a great job o my for them to come back they were available now, I mentioned I was not interested and that was when they let me know I signed an agreement to pay back the discount already offered if I cancelled, a discount of 231$ to to cancel my service now Ill need to pay 461$ which is robbery. I am not interested in working with themBusiness Response

I was approached by an Ecoshield salesperson to discuss fire ants on the property. I notified the salesperson about numerous other infestation issues with the property and he assured me that service would be performed by April 23 to address all of my complaints. Unfortunately, the visit did not address any of my complaints. In fact, the same visible spiders and spiderwebs that were there when I let the technician in the house remained there after his departure. Additionally, there has been a resurgence of pest activity within the home and on the property, including several flying pests within the home, such as wasps INSIDE the home. I called the local office to get a technician out there in compliance with their 100% guarantee and they did were not able to send someone over the weekend. Instead, I had to contact another local company to come out and address the pest problem. I did not receive a call back from Ecoshield to try to schedule a follow up until after the weekend, at which point I requested cancellation of service. They informed me they would cancel service, but would assess a $150 fee against me for cancellation. All I have done at this point is pay $161.29 for a service that was clearly not performed, and now they are threatening to charge me an additional $150 to cancel service. I am not even asking for a refund of the previous "service". I just don't want to pay a total of $311.29 for a service THAT WAS NEVER PERFORMED. I am requesting a waiver of the cancellation fee for the service that I signed up for less than two weeks ago.Business Response

I signed a contract for service on Friday 4/19 which was performed same day for initial treatment. Slept on it and decided on 4/20 to cancel the contract. Under contract terms and applicable federal law, the contract is subject to 3-day cooling off period and I can cancel with no penalty. I contacted the business via email on 4/20 requesting to cancel my contract under this provision. Business responded on Monday 4/22 asking me to call so they could see why I was canceling and try to talk me out of canceling. They have also tried to say that this is subject to a cancellation penalty which their sales person told me specifically would not apply until the end of the cooling off period. I reiterated in writing that I wanted to cancel and requested written confirmation that the contract be canceled. As of close of business, I have not received written confirmation or any communication from the company, and I do not want to drag this out any further and risk being charged a penalty.Customer Answer

The company has sent messages and tried to call, claiming they want to know what they can do to keep me as a customer. I have told them repeatedly that I will only communicate via email going forward and requested written confirmation that my contract is canceled by the end of day today. I should not have to jump through additional hoops to have my contract canceled and do not want to sit through a sales call to receive my requested resolution.Customer Answer

Company is now stating that I have been non responsive and I must call them to proceed with any remedy. I have stated repeatedly that I will only communicate via email and that I do not want to hear more sales pitches over the phone. Company is also saying they will close out my account and charge me a cancelation fee if I do not call. I should not have to pay this fee. I was told by their sales person when I signed this contract that within the 3 day cooling off period that I could cancel with no penalty. After the cooling off period I would have to pay. I sent my cancelation request within the 3 days and it is not my fault that the company has thrown up barriers and is making me waste time listen to more sales pitches instead of canceling this contract in a timely manner as I have requester numerous times.Business Response

This company is a scam. A guy came to out business and tried to get us to use their company. His name is ***. He said the company will come every 3 months for $189 then i see them keep coming like twice a month then every month. Also if we are not happy with product we will he full refund. I contacted the sale and he said it would be mistake and he will help and get me a refund. He didnt. I kept texting him and no longer received any money. They charged me 2 or 3 times until 10/25/24 which was Wed and our store closed every Wed! So they came but we didnt open and they didnt do anything but they still send bill and charge me. From that time i called my credit card and block them because this is such a scam. Then they call me because they cant take money out of my acct. I told them i tried to reach them so many times to solve problem and cancel it but it goes to voicemail and they keep coming to our store and we refused all the service but they still charge then i talked to someone and said i need to cancel but they keep email and tell me to call back. Untill now they sent me a collection which i owed more than $700 for the service i didnt use. What kind of company is that. I did contacted bbb one time and got reply that it was wrong. And then why there is weekly it was your treat! And your rep said your company would give fully refund like in the text i sent but still i didnt get any refund! So you guys still charged me 3 times already. Then everyweek you came we refuse the service and you came on Wed which our store never opened on Wed and you guys didnt do any services and keep charging us? When i finally talked to someone and cancelled the services u still keep send email said i have to call back to discuss! Just so you know i saw alot of reviews like my situation only. In August 2023, I agreed to 1 round of pest control for my home which required 3 months of spraying around my house to effectively kill all 3 life stages of the bugs. I affirmed several times with the sales person that I only wanted the 1 treatment/3 rounds, i didnt want to sign a contract or be tied to an extended service. I was assured that I was only signing up for 1 treatment. After the 3 treatments, I got a phone call in November asking to set up the next round of treatments. I told them I didnt agree to anything beyond that 3 month program (1 round). I went round and round with the customer service rep saying that I didnt want any more services. They told me that what I signed was a contract committing me to a year of services. I refused the service and said thats not what I commiteed to. They proceeded to tell me I had to pay $150 to break the contact. I have ignored the $150 bills theyve sent me and in the last 7 weeks they have turned me over to collections which has affected my credit score. I have filed a complaint with the ******** attorney general and now with the BBB.Business Response

Hello, this complaint is for the Centennial branch. We do not service ************************* from this location.Business Response
Date: 04/02/2024
Hello,
We appreciate the opportunity to address their concerns and would like to provide a comprehensive overview of the account findings and our stance on the matter.
Upon reviewing our records, we found that the customer signed up for our services on June 30, 2023. The service agreement was duly signed, and the customer acknowledged receipt by opening the delivered document. A welcome text was also sent to the customer, to which they responded affirmatively.
On November 28, 2023, we received a call from the customer seeking to cancel their services. During this conversation, the customer mentioned they had initially signed up for three treatments. We offered a resolution to adjust the agreement length to one year and provided a $35 coupon, which was unfortunately declined by the customer.
It's important to note that our ************ and ******************** made several attempts to reach out to the customer for necessary follow-up treatments in the backyard, as well as to discuss the outstanding balance of $150. These attempts, however, did not receive any response from the customer.
Based on our records and the procedures followed during the signup and service delivery process, we believe that all steps were taken appropriately and in accordance with our service agreement. The balance of $150 for the **** remains valid, given the services rendered and the lack of communication from the customer regarding any issues until the filing of this complaint.
Our team is dedicated to resolving this matter to the customers satisfaction and remains open to further discussion to find an amicable resolution. We are committed to the highest standards of service and customer satisfaction, and we sincerely hope to reach a positive outcome.

On August 26th 2023, a person knocked on my grandmother, ********************************* door at her home at *****************************************************, ** ***** and offered to look in her attic to see if she had any pests that needed to be taken care of. They came down from her attic and told her that there was a mouse problem and that it needed to be addressed. They said that they could take care of it so they scheduled an appointment for sometime in early September so that they could come back to resolve the issue. Upon hearing the estimated cost for the appointment, I decided to look for myself to see if there was an issue. I went up into the attic and could find no such pest issue, so I called them to cancel the appointment only to find that it was an annual contract. I cancelled the appointment as well as the annual subscription before they ever came to provide any services. They charged her $250 for upfront, said the appointment for the solution would be over $1000, and charged a further $150 for canceling their services. After hearing how they approached my grandmother I then contacted her credit card provider and contested the charges, which were cancelled, because of their predatory business practices taking advantage of elderly individuals. My grandmother lives in a community with closed access. Solicitation is not allowed. These contractors came to her home after providing service to one of her neighbors and then approached her to try to provide services. They have been told they cannot do that. My grandmother is 92 years old and they have no business going into her attic, which she can't go into herself, in order to tell her she has a problem that she doesn't have, only to charge her extortionate prices. The business did not try to solve the issue. They pushed her "debt" to a collection agency and forced her to pay money for services she never received. Her Account number with them is *******.Business Response
