1 starI have had a terrible experience with Green Chef. I went to sign up with a discount code and discovered I already had an account from years ago. Somehow they ended up setting up two accounts or subscriptions although I could only see the one in the link on my PC. I received a box at the sales price but it was a week early and not the meals I had selected. I was then billed again on Christmas morning but billed the full price of $91 even though I had entered "skip" on the website. I called them and they said I had two subscriptions and the second one was not at the sale price - unbelievable! They couldn't stop the meal box because it was less than 5 days from the delivery date. I have now canceled "both" subscriptions though I never set up a second one. I had to contact Pay Pal to be sure they don't erroneously charge me again! A supervisor was supposed to contact me within 24 hours of my first call and that hasn't happened.Review fromPatty A

1 starI checked out several meal services and Green Chef was one I had used in the past. I decided to purchase from then and at the last minute I changed my mind and just left the site. The next day I get notified of a $90.93 charge from them. I contacted them and was told that as soon as I reopened my account they start sending meals again. I never saw that statement anywhere but was told its their policy and there was no way to cancel. I closed my account and will never order with them again. The whole situation has soured me on dealing with any meal company again.Green Chef Corporation

1 starI immediately cancelled my subscription because they only offered two meals I can eat. I was assured my order was cancelled and I wouldn't be charged. A week later and I DID get charged. It's been a week fighting for a refund and I still haven't received one. I also didn't get the meals I was charged for! A total scam with customer support that lies.Green Chef Corporation

1 starThis company is a joke. They do not send you the full amount of ingredients to cook the meal, then will not help you in any capacity beyond trying to credit money to your next order. When I spoke to a supervisor, I was told I need to let them know 5 days in advance if they are going to forget to pack food to send to me. I explained that this literally made 0 sense - how can I know a week in advance if the shipment they are sending me the following week will be missing food? That is insane. When I pointed this out, I was told that it is their policy to have a week notice that something is wrong. Again, this makes no sense. I hope someone from their corporate office listens to the customer service call I had with them. I asked for a refund since I could not cook what they sent me and they refused. I asked to speak to a supervisor, the same supervisor who told me that I need to let them know a week before hand if they forget something in my box that I have not received is also the same supervisor who refused to refund my order and also refused to let me speak to anyone else. I had to call several times to get any sort of refund for their lack of services. Beyond disappointed in this company - terrible customer service. They only know how to read a script and not actually problem solve any situations. This company is AWFUL. They are the worst.Review fromAllison F

1 starIf there was a zero star option I would give them zero stars. They freely advertise that you can cancel anytime as long as you cancel before the cut off date for the next order. Sounds great, right? What they don't tell you is when you sign up they automatically process the order for your first box. Even if you cancel 4 minutes later several days before the order cut off date (as I did) they will charge you and send you the first box. When I called to find out what happened they explained that you have to cancel the first box separately from the subscription cancellation, and you have to call to cancel the box. I didn't see that anywhere when signing up, yet they claim it's part of their "terms of service" in sign up. Absolutely scammy way to do business.Green Chef Corporation

1 starI activated and deactivated my account with this company on the same day after deselecting the pre-selected ************. The meals were not appealing. This company charged me for the box anyway. I reached out to customer service to have them refund my money and the representative (*****) was extremely rude, refuse to allow me to speak with a supervisor, and told me that the cut-off day to cancel my box was the day I opened the account, that they had pre-selected my meals and that I would not be refunded.Green Chef Corporation

1 starGreen Chef charged me for a box that I did not receive. I called Green Chef to ask about my delivery and they said there was a "processing error" on their end and that my box would arrive ***** hours later. By that time, the food may be bad. But, the first agent said he would reimburse me in full and report the error to his manager. I was oddly disconnected then. I called back and was told the best they could do is a $10 credit for a future box and that the first agent misspoke. As there are plenty of meal delivery services to choose from, I have canceled by subscription- a hassle in itself. As they would not refund me, I disputed the charge with my credit card company because Green Chef did not provide me with the products or services I paid for. I am not confident that my subscription has been canceled either.Green Chef Corporation

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused by the unsuccessful delivery of your first box. As much as we would love the ability to pack a new box if a problem occurs, it is the nature of the fresh-food business that prevents us from doing so! We're so sorry! In efforts to maintain sustainability and to cut down on waste, we only shop for the amount of ingredients needed for each week, reducing as much waste as possible, allowing us to bring you the freshest ingredients! This also means, once all our meals are made and shipped, we do not have meals in stock to 're-ship'!

1 starI hate this company's policies. The huge charge came out on my bank account and I called to have them refund it and cancel the box. They would not. Only said they could change the delivery because we would not be there to accept it as we were out of town. I sighed and thought ok well my bad, I'll cancel after I get this box. The day after I received the box they charged me another huge amount and when I called to get that box cancelled, again they told me they absolutely could not do any kind of refund. Once the payment is billed (and you see it on your bank) there is no way to get refund- they make their five days out policy reflect this so that when you notice it on the funds, then "oh shoot" they can't change it anymore. I also was NOT getting any emails to remind me about boxes menu changes or to see if I was okay with another box coming or to remind me my bank was about to me charge- NOTHING! The rep said I should be receiving those but nope they don't actually send those emails cause then you might realize it and cancel. Never sign up with this deceptive company!Green Chef Corporation

2 starsI had them charge me for food I didn't order, 3 different times. On their app, they give you the option of skipping meals for a week. I skipped several weeks in a row because I would be traveling and busy overall. They still kept sending food and/or charging me a delivery fee without the food. The same thing happened with my father, as Green Chef gives you credits for free meals that you can gift to others. I did this with my father, as my mother has recently died and he doesn't know how to cook very well, and money was tight. I made sure to cancel the service for him directly after using his gifted boxes but he was still charged repeatedly. I had to spend hours on the phone with Green Chef to get refunds they promised and never sent. Ultimately I used my credit card service for a charge back. 1 starI tried to cancel my account multiple times by phone and was kept on hold for long periods of time and nobody ever answered my call. I receive one box and the food was awful ( soup and lettuce)Recently, I could not get into the Green Chef app and the password rest would not work. I typically skip ever meal, but since I could not access my account I wasnt able to this week. I finally got a live person on the phone today and I think they cancelled my acct, but they dont want to refund for food shipment next week. The customer support was terrible. They dont listen .. I want to Cancel my account but keeping talking about their food and discounts. I ask to do the survey at the end and they hung up on me. Avoid this company
