I was locked out of my email account that I had for over ********************************* the lake. I called yahoo premium customer care and wouldnt have even have cared about having to pay for the service. My issue is that I scanned my drivers license to them but because I have a married name now they wouldnt let me into my account. They refused to take anything to verify it was me including my marriage certificate, birth certificate, old drivers license, old and new social security cards, etc. it is the most ridiculous situation I have encountered in my life. Once I finally remembered my password they still wouldnt let me in my account! Thanks for the added security but how ridiculous of you and how discriminatory towards married women. I am so disappointed in the way yahoo has handled this. Being locked out of an account Ive had for over *********************************************************** my life. The policies they have for verifying identity are ridiculous and very unhelpful. I do not recommend them to anyone!!

I have had a Yahoo account for several years and now it constantly says Your Account May ** At Risk at least 2-3 times a week when I sign in. This forces me to enter a verification code and change my password. I cant get in touch with any customer service reps because I am not a premium member. Theyre basically forcing people to pay to use what has always been a free service. I echo what the person said below. This is an unfair business practice, restricting peoples accounts and trying to persuade them to pay. Yahoo allows people to sign up for free emails and trying to drive them to the point of frustration to pay for something advertised as no cost is a bad business practice. I have no interest in providing my personal bank information to Yahoo and wish to not constantly have to change my password to gain access to my account.

Yahoo takes account security seriously. If your account was "high risk" Yahoo will ask the user to strengthen their security on the account. As the user states, they have recovery information on file and are able to self-resolve. If the user does not have recovery information on file, they will need to contact support which is a paid service.

Similar to complaints below. I have had an account with ********************** for like 2 decades. Have my email, and just drafted my Fantasy Football team last Sunday. All of a sudden I can't access my account and am asked to verify my account with an email I had the year computers were invented. Also paid call timed out with nothing accomplished.I tried to delete the account and reinstall but that couldn't happen. Please, Yahoo, please do what you need to do to install and restore my account so I can enjoy the site I have loved and used for years! Thank you.

I was force to pay $9 and sign up for a subscription service to recover my password for my email account. The customer service agent assured me this was the only way to recover my password, since my two-factor authentication had been compromised. Absolutely unacceptable that a company can essentially hold your information hostage. I also attempted to remove my credit card from their system, which I'm unable to do since my cancellation of their "service" is pending. Absolutely no integrity or concern for their customers data security.

Absolutely insane. A hacker was able to access my account due to **********************'s negligence with data storage and a leak of usernames and passwords has lead to them being sold to hackers. My account is now compromised and the phone number changed. I can provide proof the email is mine because I know the old password and the location the account was created. However, when I contacted chat support they just send me to a "special team" via email where I was provided copy and paste excuse that they can't help me. Any attempt to reply is automated. Now they tell me you would have to pay to get support which SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. Do not use Yahoo for anything, cancel your emails services and RUN.

Yahoo has a problem with login authentication that only they can fix. In order to have them do this, you have to pay them for Premium support for an otherwise free service. Free options do not work to gain access to your account again, even that's where they send you. The actual quote they gave me was "I understand you're not interested in signing up for a subscription today. Unfortunately that means I am unable to help you further. As an alternative, free support is available at help.yahoo.com. If you change your mind, you're welcome to contact us in the future, and we'll be glad to sign you up." Best to just make a new account, which is then inflating their account sign **** Oh well.

I have been with Yahoo since ****. Suddenly this weekend (Aug 26 2023) I could not login into my account is sends to another yahoo.ca account that also, suddenly, cannot be used, and now I am in a perpetual loop. None of the the rememdies work from the Help page and Chat AI is another loop. I have called 3 separate ***** numbers and they have told me that there is no ******-based Help number, and no ******-based email contact. I was told that unless something unexpected happens those accounts and their entire contents will be purged in 12 months (from the date I last logged in, Aug 25 2023). Even if I wanted to pay for tech support, I would have to scan my drivers' license and use a US credit card, and they basically knew that would not help anyway (which is a serious breach of personal information, just to fix a log in problem, or not fix it as the case may be).

It's a shame they had to get to where they are by exploiting poor particIpants who trusted them with their private mail; WHAT A MISTAKE! somebody give Yahoo a better job; they woke up this morning & bumped their heads. Well I guess you can tell; I HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT YAWHO? THEY USE PREDATORY PRACTICES TO MAKE MONEY OFF POOR PARTICIPANTS WILLING TO TRUST THEM!!! Been with yahoo since pretty much their inception. Cannot login into my account when I password reset it sends it to my phone then requires a email sent to account I havent used in years when I tried to resolve they want a scanned drivers license ( ******* is in ***** ) then to pay a premium in computer terms a terminal loop. I will not provide a scanned copy of my drivers license to someone not even in ******* this is a terminal loop of making people pay premium prices, unfair business practices and irresponsible request for personal data that I only give to people in person, definitely not over the internet and with no way to ensure security once i doI just want to reset a password horrible policies that breech customer expectation and false advertising of free email for *************************************************** emails.

Yahoo Finance Stock conversations are being deleted for NO reason. To prove this, I had my wife post a comment for the first time, and it was automatically deleted. All I get is automatic responses noting a violation in the community guidelines. This is all INACCURATE.
