    We are a military family deployed to ****** March 2025. We cancelled our policy w/Progressive Ins. Before we left but they erroneously renewed our policy. A random credit alert notified me that Caine & Weiner added a debt to my credit report for progressive. I contacted progressive and they acknowledged the error. I filed a dispute with Caine & Weiner on 7/30/2025 to remove the debit and provided documentation. Progressive contacted Caine & Weiner directly on 8/1/2025 to inform them that there was no debt and we had a ZERO balance & to remove it from my credit report. I followed up with a call to Caine and Weiner TWICE in which they refused to acknowledge what Progessive sent them and attempted to EXTORT me twice to pay them a fee of $200 to remove it from my report. They stated I would have to pay an initial $1 to a parent company called Standard Scores for them to even review my debt and they would then tell me if they would allow me to pay for it to be removed. BOTH times they wanted me to pay half of the debt that I did not owe. The second representative, a woman laughed at me and told me to have a nice day and hung up. We are working with our *** representation on base to move forward with legal action. We were instructed by our attorney to file a dispute, make a minimum of two attempts to resolve this directly with the company. Both times they attempted to illegally extort me for money to remove something from my credit that should have never been added. I have done my part. *********** has done their part but this scammy company refuses to remove it. I have uploaded the notice from Progressive notifying Caine & Weiner on 8/1 that we dont owe the debt, ZERO balance w/Progressive & $1 charge to our CC. They boast theyve been in business for almost 100 years. Thank God we have free legal representation. The United States military does not take the mistreatment, fraud and extortion of their military personnel lightly. We will be moving forward.

    request to the credit reporting agencies to have this account removed from the consumers credit report. This
    request may take up to 45 days to be reflected on the consumers credit report.

    Better Business Bureau:

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me however, I have been instructed by the JAG on base to confirm that Caine and Weiner did in fact request and successfully remove this erroneous item from my credit. It has been noted that this company states they will have items removed but then does not follow through. I will not be fully satisfied until they follow through and it is completely removed from all THREE credit bureau reports.
