      I had the same experience! They seemingly cut off your service citing firmware. Honestly theyre stealing. A modem lasting less than 2 years at $170 is insane. DO NOT BUY NETGEAR!!! Theyre willfully and intentionally stealing in order to sell their protection plans. Please will some government agency investigate and compensate customers for this practice!!

      Really horrible, will not honor warranty if something goes wrong. Spent two hundred dollars on a router less than a year ago. It crashed and they wont help me because I dont have my receipt from 6 months ago. I registered the product when I got it thinking it would activate and track warranty. On top of that the said if I pay 40 dollars they can give my tech support. Please save your money and buy some other brand. I have to buy a whole new router now,

      spent $400 over for nighthawk modem router, it stop working right after a year and unable to claim for warranty as i submitted ticket just 4days after the warranty expiration date. The modem just stop working suddenly, and been through few round of technical troubleshoot that they confirmed is hardward fault but refuse to provide provide due to it's out of warranty :( I've had other cheaper modem router for years without much issue and this expensive one failed right after 1years. Sad to see regression on the company product quality and start charging for all services includes tech support !

      I have a rax30 router. Works good I guess. steady speed but my problem is I was charged twice for the armor protection after unsubscribing from the yearly auto pay. One being $99.99 and the other at half off from a discount price. So I'm out $150 I cannot get ahold of anybody after sending emails with screenshots of the purchases and cannot get through on the phone.

      Netgear is selling defective routers and wont stand behind their product. Do not buy the Nighthawk WiFi 6 Router (RAX120) 12-Stream Dual-Band Gigabit Router, AX6000. I purchased this and it immediately had issues restarting. I did some research and it turns out the router constantly overheats and resets itself. The internal fan does not work properly, there is a way to turn it on all the time in the settings but that doesn't work, the router still resets itself, and when it resets it reverts the fan always on setting back to temperature sensing. The temperature sensor also does not work, which is probably why the fan never turns on and the router constantly overheats. I used a laser thermometer on the internals of the router while it was running and got readings as high as 265 degrees fahrenheit. Support is unhelpful and will only send out the same exact model router with the same defects. I offered to pay the difference to get a router that doesn't have this issue and they weren't interested. Now I'm stuck with a $250 to $450 paper weight.

      Buyer beware of Netgear Products because they dont stand behind what they sale. They wont even try to run a test on their end to see what the problem may be until you buy a warranty plan if over 90 days of purchase. Im so disappointed that I couldnt get an answer so I wont be buying any of their products going forward. Seriously, I just asked if it was possible for them to run a speed test on my router from their end. They wouldnt even entertain my question unless I purchased the warranty. 400mbps coming in from internet provider and 78 coming out of Netgear router. Somethings not right.

      This is a terrible service! For one there customer service is terrible and does not know what they are doing. The deleted my account out of no where and my system got hacked. I call to get help and they refused to even check what was going but i asked for corporates information and ******* flat out refused and would keep repeating his self after i demand for a supervisor. I spent over ******** on this system and i have had nothing but issues. I always have to reset to change my administrator and netgear.com account and no i cant even use it or connect it. I am very angry and upset a company can do this to others. I want my money back or a different system exchange.

      Does not honor warranty citing unauthorized dealer despite purchasing new on Amazon with receipt. A company that lacks business ethics and terrible customer service.

      Biggest scam company yet! Worst customer service. Refuses to help you unless you pay over $100 for support for them to tell you device isn't working & you're out of luck for a replacement. All they do is apologize & promise you the world to get off the phone call, no supervisor has called us back we have requested multiple times since last week. This is a business that needs to operate & this crappy scam company has no concern over the defective products as its reps are from India (shocking) cant get a single american on the phone or a supervisor. Going after this company now for loss of business, the support refund we are owed & a new device.

      Just called to get the Wi Fi password changed due to an overactive teenager. They said it had to be under warranty for them to do that. Warranty is $50-200! To change a password?! No thanks! I will go buy a different brand router for that!
