I purchased a $200 router modem combo. After 1 year it stopped working. I called NETGEAR to get help and they asked me for $14 to get technical support to fix the modem router after it broke. I asked for assistance and told them I wasnt going to pay. I was hung up on by employee ***** (employee ID ******** they were extremely rude and unhelpful. Whats the point of paying over $200 for a system that doesnt work after 1 year. And to be charged to get assistance to fix it after I already purchased the product!!! I was put on hold for 15 minutes to try to troubleshoot my Netgear router not working. After the guy had me on the phone for a long time, he told me that I had to pay money. If he was to try to help me. I'm not even sure he would be able to help me. This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced from any ***************** Unbelievable!Review from Chinomnso A

Zero stars!These people are thieves! Bought an AP from them in October, it was one issue after another, and then I got on the phone with their agent, and as soon as he got hold of the device IP, he bricked it! Device just went dead, and that was after almost 30 mins of him trying to gaslight me. Between, I am a software engineer, and have my first undergrad in Electrical Electronics and Computer Engineering, so I have an idea what they are doing. This should be illegal!Review from Jeffrey B

I would actually give 0 stars! We purchased the NetGear Nighthawk AC1900 model C7000v2. The product states 800 mbps and we only were able to obtain 200 mbps at the most. We tried just after 30 days to return for a refund at Best Buy and they said NetGear didnt allow returns even when the associate put in defective! My husband spent several times hours troubleshooting over the telephone with no luck. We then were offered to exchange for another through the mail however we had to pay *****, to which we found we didnt really have a choice. The customer service was no help. The product did not ever stand up to what it claims to do! After several more calls to NetGear, we then sent a fax directly to the NetGear CEO with of course no response! We are out $176.00 for the original purchase and $***** for a replacement. This is a lot for us as my husband and I are both disabled and bought this to leave cable due to the expense. We now have a product in the box never able to be used! Why a company is allowed to not take back a product that does not work is in my opinion stealing and completely scamming. We tried rectifying many times over the phone and that should have been enough since we were still unable to use the product. We simply want a complete refund and return this bogus product! We purchased their service in late February 2023, and switched our internet service to **** in December, 2023 who provided a WiFi router. So, we canceled our two-year service and asked for a refund for one year we have not used. They said no refund (Refund available only within the first 30 days, which they didn't explain to us. They just emphasized 2-year contract will be a saving than 1-year).I called the manager and explained how unconscientious to charge for the service they are not going to provide. He just repeated the policy and didn't care about my plea.The Wifi often had connection problems and we will never go back to Netgear. Wish we had checked BBB before we took the store clerk's sales pitch.Review from Albert M

I would give this company a "0" stars if it was an option. I purchased a Netgear Orbi Mesh system with two satellite receivers in July 2022. From the get-go of installation I ran into issues. Two technical support "specialists" were not able to help me. After not having internet access for 9 hours, a third tech support person was finally able to determine the issue. Apparently, a software update was sent out wireless but the unit I purchased did not receive it. The tech support person was able to help me get internet back. However, I have had to reach out to Netgear a total of EIGHT times for technical support since I have had this product. On January 4, ****, I contacted them yet again for another technical issue (no internet). I requested a refund because I had purchased the technical "support" package. They informed me that it "appears" that I have a defective unit. The rep I spoke with told me that Netgear would send out a replacement Router and that I would have to send the current one I owned back after receiving the replacement. However, the email I received stated that I need to send the current unit back before I will receive the replacement unit. This is a JOKE OF A COMPANY with absolutely awful customer service. I REGRET spending the money on this mesh system and would LOVE to actually tell them this. They should issue a complete refund on this piece of junk system that I purchased from them.Review from Troy S

Equipment broken in less than 10 months, customer service refuses to honor the warranty and send a replacement. **************** is an absolute joke. They have no ability to help and they clearly don't care. Closed multiple cases with no communication and no resolution. If you buy Netgear equipment, don't expect a working device and don't expect to get a replacement when it inevitably breaks.Review from Skyler H

We bought our router from ******** installed it and threw away the box. Since then we have had issues and have called netgears support in which they troubleshooted twice. Each time the internet would still go in and out. They tried to say it was our modem but our spectrum router did not have an issue whem connected to the modem so that was not the problem. They told the would get us a rma number within in a few days in order for us to return the damaged router. We reached out since we never heard back and they requested proof of purchase which we provided. We still had no response on our followup emails. Today we called to check and they are now telling us we cannot return it however in the the box were papers stating we have a year warranty with netgear. They want us to troubleshoot AGAIN. We told them no and they stated they would could us back in 2 mins. They called us back and my husband asked for a supervisor in which they stated they would call back in a hour because they were busy. Without the box we cannot return to ******* and netgear should cover their products.
