**************** is terrible. They did a firmware update without my knowledge that crashed my router. They said they are working on the problem for days. Meanwhile Im without internet. Im probably going to have to buy a new router and just eat the $500 I spent on this netgear router. I will not be buying anything from them in the future.

I purchased a nighthawk hotspot and when I went to set up some ****** wifi boosters the Ethernet port wasnt working. So I spend an afternoon on the phone with ****** to make sure the boosters worked then another afternoon on the phone with netgear for them to tell that indeed the Ethernet port was defected. So we did a standard rma on the defective device and was told within ten business days I would have a new device. Two weeks later checking on the rma status it shows they had indeed received my device but had not shipped out a replacement. Every time I call netgear they tell me they will flag my case as urgent and within ***** hours I would be notified of my replacement device being sent. This EXACT excuse was given to me three separate times within a two week period. Now today after waiting the 48 hours once again and calling once again Im being told they can not replace the device and have no idea why anyone started the rma even though the device is within the ************************************************************************ you guessed it ***** hours. So I paid for a month of internet service that I could not use nor have a device I paid for during this month just to be told they will return my defective device. Honestly at this point I will be shocked if they even do that. Im sure Im out my money and time on the device and will need to purchase a new one if I ever want internet service again. Someone should really look into this company because I feel I have been completely robbed. Im sure they will respond on here with the same response we have flagged your case number for attention and someone will reach out to you withinwait for ityou know it***** hours

THEY ARE A SCAM!They manipulate their product and are not up front about requiring a subscription for service. The phrase fool me once shame on u but fool me twice shame on me applies here.4 yrs ago we bought $100 netgear router with a 2 yr extended warranty. A few weeks/or months after warranty went out so did this router. We called into internet provider and all was good on their end. We called netgear and they wanted $100-$200 to service it. Ok? Um wat?! But we made the payment on phone which would cover another year of "protection" and it started working again. Details from past are a bit fuzzy but we received a call from agent saying the payment didnt go through but it was still working. Either that day or within week it stopped working again so we thought ... hmm... its just a bad router and lets get a better one. We bought a nighthawk netgear router/modem combo. $300! It was stretching our budget but figured more expensive means it'll be good quality and last longer. We also bought only a 1 year protection plan this time instead of the 2 yrs. Well just today 18 months later it suddenly stops working again. We called into internet provider and they said its connected. So again we called back into netgear and they said the exact same thing! Its out of warrenty and we need to pay $100-$200 for service plan! This is manipulation of product and consumerism. If you are going to provide a product be up front about it and tell consumers that it only works with yalls yearly subscription!!!!! I want to get my money back because they do not deserve it with their shady ways but I am refused by best buy who we purchased it from due to it's "outside the warranty". Tired of these people lying. The service provided was acceptable even though I'm pretty sure the security is lacking and it goes in and out most times anyway. To repeat:Netgear manipulates their products to fail a bit after warranty out and charges customers to yearly subscription to keep it going!

Terrible customer service. I would highly recommend that no one buy any products from Netgear. I purchased a NightHawk CAX30 for nearly $400 on 06/22/2022. In mid October of last year, that modem/router combo completely stopped working. Spent an hour on wait to talk to someone for another hour, only to tell me what I already knew - it was a defective product. They issued a refurbished product to be shipped to me (which I had to pay for). Plugged it in and it worked fine for four months. As I was logging on to my remote job, I'd lost connection again. Performed the factory reset twice. Called my ISP and confirmed that I had a strong signal coming to my home. Luckily, I have a backup modem for this very reason - Netgear makes unreliable, cheaply produced, and faulty equipment. The backup modem booted up and provided internet access just fine. Netgear will not issue me a refund, only another replacement which I'm sure will be another refurbished modem that will die again in three months. Do not spend your hard earned money on Netgear products. Do not rely on Netgear products to provide you internet service that you need for your livelihood. Do not count on Netgear customer service to be anything but rude and unhelpful. I cannot dissuade a potential customer enough. Don't waste your time or money.

On 2-6-2023 I renewed my Armor subscription costing $42.40. I received an email receipt thanking me for my order and stating that my prescription will renew on 2-6-2024. A message on my phone says allow 24 hours for Armor to update which would be 2-8-2023. I waited 4 days for it to update and it never did so I called NETGEAR 2-10-23 and I could not understand one word that the rep was saying. All I got from the call was a CONTRACT# ******** and a CASE# ******** and she said someone would contact me in 24 to 48 hours which should be 2-11-23 or 2-12-23.
No one called me back. It's now 2/14/23 and I have called 4 times and have been told every time that my case has been EXPEDITED to the team that handles these cases and I would be called back that same day. No one has ever called me. There is no customer service they just pass the buck to no one and it's just a vicious circle. I've been fighting this for 8 days now 2-14-23. I no longer want the Armor subscription. I ONLY WANT MY MONEY, $42.40, REFUNDED.

I'll try to be brief and succinct. Ordered modem on-line from Net Gear. FedEx delivery. Wrong modem. Tried for 4 1/2 days to get correct modem and instructions for returning wrong modem. They (NetGear) told me to contact customer service with all pertinent information (case #, chat #, tracking #, order #, plus pictures of modem received and packing list). I did this. Then later, I was told that it was up to ME to contact FedEx because NetGear warehouse said that they sent the correct one. I was told by FedEx that they (FedEx) sent what they had received; and that NetGear conditions to FedEx that no shipping label (for returns) could be given out; and that I had to either go to a FedEx store or request directly from NetGear a return label. I did this.
Two days went by without any acknowledgement from Netgear despite my continued attempts at communicating with them. Ultimately, I was told that since Netgear warehouse said that they sent the right modem, I had NO recourse, no forthcoming refund, and was on my own regarding the wrong modem that was shipped to me. (Incredulous!)
I returned the wrong modem to FedEx, and am contesting the credit card payment.
I asked to speak to management, but was told that I was communicating with the highest authority. I can't believe the number of road blocks encountered, and their policy of, "Once it's out of the warehouse it's YOUR problem.". CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTENT!!

Netgear is committing credit card fraud and getting away with it. We cancelled our support back in January 2021. Netgear billed us after that. We contacted them again in April 2022. They said they would reverse the charge and never did. Then they billed us again in January 2023. We contacted them yet again and they still have not reversed the 2023 charge. They have no way to allow customer to speak to a human for billing support. This is all being done thru emails. We have contacted our bank to have them deny all future charges but we are still out hundreds of dollars in support charges that we should not have paid for.
