Their subscription cancellation process is deliberately misleading. You need to press end subscription across multiple pages, and the button on the next pages require a scroll (at least on mobile).There is no purpose for this type of UX decision other than to continue charging people that arent giving their full attention to the cancellation process.While its not quuuite a scam, Im sure they make most of their money from people who dont realize theyre subscribed, while not being active users of the service.Scribd

I never subscribed to this awful place, never even researched it, they started charging my card for a while and I have been emailing them, (i have copies of all emails) apparently they still want me to give them my debit card number in order to search for my info, scammers, I will not give them my information because I never subscribed with them, all of the blue I saw charges on my bank and upto date they still giving me the run around still charging every month, they need to stop doing that to people and refund the months that they have fraudulently charged my bank!!!Scribd

The only information requested if the subscription is not found outright through the email address you've contacted us on is the last 4 digits of your payment method (suffix) and the expiration date of the card. This allows us to narrow down the results within our payment processor as we have over one million subscribers and have to search manually in order to locate charges.Upon review of your ticket, it appears that the specialist that you're working with has already responded and requested this information several times from you now but you are refusing to provide it. I've Emailed this company over 15 times, I canceled my subscription, and even canceled my account, and somehow they still keep taking money from me monthly. No one will return my emails at all. This is now Three months, I finally found out you can turn off payment from Apple under invoices but I was not aware of that for the first 3 months.Scribd

Dont even remember signing up for the service (no email confirmation). Just got charged out of the blue, had to reset my password, because I didnt remember it. Which made so much sense after resetting my password. As the site doesnt allow passwords with consecutive letters or numbers or patterns. (123) or (aaa). So Im not shocked that others have had cancellation issues. They got me for $12, well played Audible wanna be. Cant imagine how much others have been charged due to not knowing they have the service or the inability to get into their accounts.Scribd

However, the subscription was not canceled prior to renewal, which is why you were billed. This company has a horrible customer service policy. There is no number to call with a complaint. I have been charged for a service that I have never received. I have emailed through the site to cancel my subscription and I continue to be charged. Everytime I log in to use my paid subscription there is a message that states it has expired, yet I am being charged. I have emailed multiple time but to no avail. I would NEVER subscribe to this business that hides behind technology and does not even provide a phone number to communicate with the business. The number provided on the BBB is just a recording saying that they do not offer any contact via phone but through email which I have done multiple times.Scribd

BEWARE!!If you considering just doing the FREE trial for Scribd and then cancel, keep an eye on your financial account. My husband and I opened an account in January and canceled the same day. We have been repeatedly charged nearly $11 a month for months! I contacted Scribd numerous times - they claim they have a 30-day refund policy BUT the problem was that there was NO account (I got that statement every time I went to their site just to make sure since we were paying for it). I did get a refund from them for all but 3 months. They act like they did us a favor. I do NOT recommend Scribd at all - they use their policy to deflect from what they do - which is take your money when your account has been canceled.Scribd

I give the company a solid 3 stars. I actually like the product but dont like how they continue to raise prices without notifying customers. $8.99, $9.99, and now $11.99 with no option to choose an annual plan to save on the monthly cost. The product is not worth $11.99 and I realize they offer extras!!!! I dont use them. Separate them and offer em as an upgrade but dont make me pay for features I dont use and then raise my rates. Ill be back if they change the subscription plans.Scribd

I agree this business is unscrupulous ! Their customer service is atrocious, actually NON EXISTANT !!! I I CANCELLED my subscription in May 2022 ! I sent them an email directing them to. They continued to debit my account. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN !!! Why is this company APOLOGING so much ? If you're running a reputable business, you wouldn't have to apologize all over the place.I WANT A REUND !!!Scribd

Wholly disreputable company. Like many other people, I signed up for a trial subscription but then the company would not process a cancellation and would not respond to emails or inquiries. It keeps charging my credit card. They should be shut down. (Moreover, the content did not turn out to be as was promoted.)Scribd
