Please for the love of god stay away from this company. It will be cheaper to buy the texts you are looking for one time with a legitimate company such as ****** I canceled my subscription in January 2024 after a full year of use. Received a cancellation email and thought I we were square. However almost 1.5 years later I see they still have been charging me every month for $12 despite the cancellation and no record of these transactions on their website. This is predatory and they most certainly are doing this intentionally. The lack of a customer billing phone number also alludes to this. Amidst the process of receiving a refund now. I never realized I signed up for subscription. I have been charged $11.99 per month for the last three months. I have asked them to chancel my subscription multiple times and can not make any progress.Scribd

Stay away from these scammers!!! Scribd charged me $119.88 for a year of subscription without sending the warning email they said they would at the end of the free trial period. I did cancel the same day it was billed, but the billing charge went through anyway for the entire year (despite the fact that I got a cancellation notice), so I am not even a member despite them charging me for the year ahead! I sent a "request for a refund" using all the instructions they gave, and within a week of the charge going through, and never heard back from a human, or even got a ticket number. Only an email from "****** Answers" telling me I would hear more soon, but of course I never did. There is no way to actually get a response from a human. My credit card company opened a dispute but Scribd is fighting it and tried to charge them back.Scribd

1 starI've NEVER posted a complaint about a company on BBB or online. This company bothered me enough to do this. Apparently, I am not alone. Scribd tricks you into a free trial, starts to bill. Not only that, somehow this company billed me for years, and then was able to get my new AMEX information and keep billing me. STAY AWAY! I used this service while doing research work. Stopped doing research, and attempted for the last 3 months to unsubscribe and STOP the monthly billing. I am STILL fighting with them. They claim they can't look up your account, and other excuses. My credit card *** was helpful and disputed the charges, forgave the charges, etc.. managed to get a refund from them, and they immediately started billing me AGAIN. I may need a lawyer to get this to stop.Scribd

Like others on here, I also experienced a lot of trouble with Scribd. I could not cancel my membership online (I tried twice). I could not get ahold of their customer service, and the three emails I sent asking for cancellation were not returned (except for one automatic reply). I even tried removing my card from the site. In the end, my bank had to block Scribd from charging me every month. They were only able to get some of my money back. I consider the rest stolen. How a company can do this and still be in business is shocking to me.On another note, their claim that you have "unlimited listening" is a lie. At least in terms of audio books. I found that I could only choose five books I wanted to read a month. Any authors or titles on my wish list were suddenly not available. When I called customer service to ask them how the rules worked regarding that, they couldn't/wouldn't give me a clear answer.I hope the information I provide here will help prevent other people from getting taken advantage of by this company.Scribd

I strongly advise anyone considering a Scribd subscription to stay away from this service. Scribd has been renewing my subscription for over a year and a half without any notice or notification. This is a deeply opaque and deceptive business practice that feels outright predatory.When I requested a refund, Scribd stated they could only refund a maximum of three months. However, it is evident from other reviews on this very page that they have refunded up to six months for other customers. Their claim that they can only access six payments is also misleading. As a tech veteran who has built multiple e-commerce businesses, I know that maintaining users financial records for seven years is standard practice.Even if accessing these records is difficult, Scribd should do the right thing and issue a refund. The fact that they dont is a clear indication of their priorities and approach to customer service.If you value transparency and fair treatment, I recommend avoiding Scribd altogether.Scribd

Like others here, i recently noticed the scribd had been charging me $12.78 for many months. I have never authorized a payment nor had an account with this company. I tried emailing, calling (impossible, no people). My cc company required proof that I'd tried to address the issue with them first, but I could not get ahold of them. These people scammed me out of hundreds of dollars over the past several months, and I still can't get the credit card company or scribd to do anything about it. When the credit card company closes the account, they apparently automatically re-enroll in subscriptions so that doesn't work. help.Scribd

Several months ago, I foolishly subscribed to Scribd not knowing that the "free trial" offer was not free. I was subsequently billed twice within that "30-day free trial" offer so I tried cancelling my membership. Unfortunately, for the subscriber anyway, you cannot contact them by phone so I tried using their chat line to do so and was given a ticket number via email for my complaint. Upon looking at the email they sent me, there was no number, no acknowledgement of my complaint, nothing. I went onto their site and cancelled my membership and was told that I still had til mid-April to use the account. That was in March. I contacted my bank and disputed the transaction. I was forced to change debit cards so they would no longer be able to withdraw any funds from my account. I thought all was well. Then, this morning I received a notice from my bank stating that Scribd had tried again to withdraw funds from my account but was denied...thank God! This company is a scam! If you look up Scribd online as an ereading option, there are reviews about it that say it's a good option to say Kindle Unlimited. What they don't tell you is that Scribd has multiple complaints against them for fraud. Buyer beware! If I could give Scribd less stars than one, I would.Scribd
