      I recently published my book in mid-June of 2025, performed a ****** search, and was shocked to find my eBook version being offered free on the Scribd ******* subscription service website. I never authorized that. My repeated attempts to get Scribd to take down my book has been unsuccessful. They simply refuse to respond. Not only do I need my book taken down (I am considering legal action), I need to understand how this could have happened! I spent six very long years writing my book. For them to steal it and profit off of it without paying me royalties is unconscionable.

      Please for the love of god stay away from this company. It will be cheaper to buy the texts you are looking for one time with a legitimate company such as ****** I canceled my subscription in January 2024 after a full year of use. Received a cancellation email and thought I we were square. However almost 1.5 years later I see they still have been charging me every month for $12 despite the cancellation and no record of these transactions on their website. This is predatory and they most certainly are doing this intentionally. The lack of a customer billing phone number also alludes to this. Amidst the process of receiving a refund now. Will update.

      I have been a HUGE user and fan of everand for years, i used it almost daily. i told everyone and anyone about this amazing service. BUT out of nowhere they canceled my plan and tried to blame. ******* cancelled my membership with zero explanation or warning, they first claimed it was my fault so i sent screenshots disproving this. then they blamed my bank, again sent screenshots after speaking with my bank directly. After i disproved every excuse they tried to come up with, they finally admitted that THEY themselves Terminated my subscription manually and will not provide any explanation even though there was no violation stating i have no more information on the reasons for the deactivation. Well, i do. I was grandfathered into my affordable subscription from years ago and by cancelling my subscription for unknown reasons i would be forced to re-subscribe with a new plan, unable to get back my original plan because it is no longer offered to new customerswhich i am NOT. Now they are trying to force me to buy a more expensive and significant less valuable subscription. incredibly dishonest, manipulative, and greedy business practice. My ENTIRE book club pays for individual subscriptions but now we all have to cancel and move to audible.

      I was told by a friend that Scribd/Everand was a good audiobook site, so I decided to give it a try. Initially, I enjoyed the service. However, wanting to cut back on some expenses, I decided to cancel my subscription with the possibility of picking it up again later.
      A couple of months later, I noticed issues with my account and insufficient funds, and I wasn't sure why. When I investigated, I discovered that Scribd was still deducting money from my bank account even though my subscription had been canceled. When I checked my account I saw that they had taken money for three consecutive months.
      When I brought this to their attention, customer support seemed confused and didn’t understand my issue. I provided them with screenshots showing the withdrawals over the three months, as well as emails confirming that I no longer had an account with them. Despite this, I am still fighting to get my refund back. I have also disputed the charges with my bank, but they claim that they are trying to resolve the issue on their end as well.
      I am very disappointed with Scribd for either their mistake or what feels like theft. I might have considered subscribing again, but this experience has left me frustrated. It's been a disappointing ordeal filled with what feels like theft by deception and a lack of empathy.

      This company has stolen my money and has refused to give me a refund. I have contacted them numerous times. They took the money on Januray 4th. 2025 and I have never recieved any of the in-app purchases that they took money from. If i could give this company 0 stars I would.

      I never realized I signed up for subscription. I have been charged $11.99 per month for the last three months. I have asked them to chancel my subscription multiple times and can not make any progress.

      I am filing a complaint due to Everands recent, highly misleading and deceptive practices regarding their subscription plan changes. As a long-time subscriber, I originally paid $11.99 per month for unlimited access to Everands full library of books. Recently, ******* introduced new "Standard" and "Plus" plans and encouraged existing members to upgrade by promising even greater access to titles. I noted that some titles I wanted to get were already locked so I decided to upgrade. I agree completely with ******** in an earlier post. Trusting their promises, I upgraded, only to find that almost all of the titles that were once available are now locked behind an even higher paywall. Everand's "Plus" plan is now $16.99 per month, yet it restricts my access to only three books per month, a drastic reduction from the unlimited access I had before upgrading. I cannot even continue reading books I had started previously. It appears that almost every title is now considered premium. It is absolutely a deceptive and misleading practice. I made my last payment to them today and will cancel before the next payment is due. Very disappointed. It used to be a great service but no longer.

One of their representives on social media confirmed that most of their titles are premium now and are therefore locked.
      Everand's "Plus" plan is now $16.99 per month, yet it restricts my access to only three books per month, a drastic reduction from the unlimited access I had before upgrading. When I reached out to customer support, they provided additional book unlocks, which do not address the issue or fulfill the original promise of increased access. Furthermore, they do not allow subscribers to revert back to their previous plan once they have upgraded, leaving subscribers stuck with significantly reduced access at a higher cost.
      This switch is not only financially exploitative but also intentionally misleading. Everand misrepresented the nature of their new plans, convincing users to upgrade for "more access," while in reality offering far less. I feel that this constitutes deceptive advertising and a bait-and-switch tactic designed to push existing subscribers into higher-priced, lower-value plans.

      If i could leave 0 stars, I would. This is an internet book downloading service. After my trial period, I requested my subscription to be canceled. I keep getting excuses for why I should keep the subscription. Uhm no. Fortunately, I have my credit card locked so I haven't been charged. Enough is enough.

      Stay away from these scammers!!! Scribd charged me $119.88 for a year of subscription without sending the warning email they said they would at the end of the free trial period. I did cancel the same day it was billed, but the billing charge went through anyway for the entire year (despite the fact that I got a cancellation notice), so I am not even a member despite them charging me for the year ahead! I sent a "request for a refund" using all the instructions they gave, and within a week of the charge going through, and never heard back from a human, or even got a ticket number. Only an email from "****** Answers" telling me I would hear more soon, but of course I never did. There is no way to actually get a response from a human. My credit card company opened a dispute but Scribd is fighting it and tried to charge them back.
