I recently noticed a charge on my paypal account from scribd. I had not, before this, heard of scribd, and I can't remember the last time I purchased an ebook (if ever). I contacted them and they refuse to reply.I would like my money backBusiness Response

This service has a free trial period where one can cancel within the first month. I canceled the day I signed up. This company's website has an online process for cancelation where one clicks on "cancel" but they hide a button all the way on the bottom of the page which needs to be clicked, which then leads to another page which also needs to be submitted. Since that button is tucked away I did not notice it and the cancelation did not take affect and I was build a month later.Business Response

Have tried to contact the company via their website and social media outlets, but have gotten no response.I want to keep my account with the Scribd as I love their service, however I am unable to log in as the email address I have with them has been deactivated. Because of this I'm also unable to log in and switch my email address or even cancel the account. I also do not want to set up a new account until the current one is canceled.For such great app and service their customer service is disappointing. Also annoyed that I have to go to extreme lengths such as this to get a response to an issue that could take less than 5 minutes to sort out.Business Response

I recently discovered that scribd has been charging my bank account for an unauthorized subscription for the past three months. They have no customer service phone number and no one responds to emails.Business Response

Though we do not have a phone number for support, we absolutely respond to every email we receive in the order we receive them
That said, we located the email they sent us yesterday, escalated it to the top of our queue, and replied to the user asking for some more information to locate their subscribed account

I am rejecting this response because: this company assumes I have a user name and password. They have no support but have charged me for years. The world should know not to trust an outfit like this one who can take your credit card **** you and then make it almost impossible to cancel. Not what the free trial implies. I have been taken advantage of and have paid a large price to learn a hard ****** but I am angry with myself and the system, with that said I am going to find a way to STOP paying them and have complained to the credit card company too.
Several years without a resolution is enough.

I signed up for the free subscription and cancelled before the auto-renewal. They continued to charge my card for 4 months even though I reached out multiple times during that time to cancel my account and refund me. Well they refunded me 1/4 months that they charged me. I signed up for a free trail with Scribd and cancelled after that 40 days. I show ZERO subscription for Scribd on my Apple account and yet have been charged sine at least October 2021. It was just brought to my attention when I saw this current months transaction (June 2022) so I went back on my **** to discover the monthly charges! I dont even have an account with Scribd when I search their site. Im looking for a reimbursement for $12.98/month for 9 months. Scribds website makes it impossible to contact anyone.Business Response

I signed up for SCRIBD free trial. I cancelled the subscription within the allotted time and even deleted my account. I have been charged for 2 months of service that I did not want. The website has no contact information - just some text that says they will get back with you but they have not. This company needs to again be put in the penalty box from the BBB.Business Response
