This app is a joke. My account was deleted for asking if anyone had an extra vacuum they no longer needed, which is what I thought the app was for. I've seen time and time again, that employees of Nextdoor are constantly discriminating against anyone who doesn't agree with them on social issues or political issues.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: My complaint is that Nextdoor is always censoring opinions that don't align with their opinions and allow others with hateful, divisive, and rude comments to continue to be seen. I've had my account name for a long time now, it's never been an issue. My friends and neighbors know me as *****************/ Why is it that Nextdoor can to tell me what I prefer to be called?Nextdoor is supposed to be a public domain, not an official government website.Everyone should be allowed to be called by the name they identify with, my nickname is not different than someone choosing their pronouns. I cant believe that companies actually pay to advertise on the Nextdoor Website.
Sincerely,

I paid for an advertising service on Nextdoor.com. I did not receive the service which I paid for and subsequently have been unable to get ahold of any representative from Nextdoor. They only have an option to submit a form on their website- no phone number, no email. I believe this is consumer fraud as they collected my payment, did not provide the service agreed to, and have no way to be contacted. This is a classic bait-and-switch tactic and due to Nextdoor breaking the terms of our contract, I am entitled to a full refund. As of writing this, I have not received a full refund from Nextdoor and have filed a fraud claim with my bank.Business Response

I tried to create an account for our rental property. They said I needed verification as an error on the website, but no specifics. I found a form so submitted the deed showing we owned property. The next day they emailed saying they need an ID emailed. I said that's confidential information and I can't email that. I asked that they just delete the account since I can't move forward. They told me they can't delete the account but ***************** it. We were hacked last summer and I am not comfortable now with them having our deed plus an open account. I explained that but they refuse to delete the account. I never was even able to log into the account so there is no information on it, but the police during the hacking said to delete unused accounts because it will cause more of a digital footprint to have them open. Somehow Nextdoor thinks I'm not who I am even though I gave the government issued deed to our house (under by husband *********************), stamped/certified. I'd like NextDoor to delete my account.Business Response

Got an unsolicited email inviting me to a social media app for neighborhoods. I did not give any information to this company nor did I seek out this service. This feels like a gross overstepping on behalf of this company.Below is the email I received. I am requesting that this company is looking at how they are getting their information.I am also requesting that no further contact is had from this company. I will not waste my time unsubscribing. That energy has been channelled into this complaint. This is an overstep from a company trying to advertise a surveillance app and is an infringement on the privacy for those in my neighborhood.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: your company could not even take the time to respond effectively. It's bogus. Your company bought user data and sent people emails for their address. It's creepy and bad business practice.and now to circumvent eny accountability on your part you make it an issue of sending it to your mailbox. Youre a bad company and i hope you fall into bankruptcy

I've been suspended from my next door account. My comment was NOT disrespectful to anyone on the feed. I wasn't making any kind of threats, I didn't think I was breaking any guidelines, I simply gave my opinion on the scams happening at ******** I also said on my comment that I didn't know, that I could be wrong about it. I don't understand why I have been suspended, it just isn't right. I've been suspended before for comments that had no reason to be suspended for & after numerous attempts to contact next door I finally got a resolution here on BBB & had my account restored in those instances. Granted I've been suspended before for saying disrespectful ************* was a long time ago. I take full accountability for my mistakes. I'm very careful to not disrespect anyone or hurt someone's feelings and it's like walking on eggshells. That's exactly what it feels like, it's seriously feels like walking on eggshells and that's a horrible way to feel and yes I absolutely do believe that we should all treat each other with respect and think twice before writing anything disrespectful to someone. I didn't write this to anyone, it was merely my opinion. Everyone likes my posts and I haven't had any issues for quite a long time. It's very upsetting. This is just not right. Nextdoor: it's REALLY getting out of hand. Next door has just not been paying attention to what the comments really are and will leave up other people's really nasty comments that I have actually reported myself and they wouldn't remove them and it seems that once somebody complains on you, it's not even read it feels like and then that's it, you're suspended. I believe this comment should have just been removed if it really bothered anyone or next door leads. But to suspend my account? That's a rather severe decision. It's getting to be really too much & A LOT of people in the neighborhood are complaining about next door doing this to them constantly. I would really appreciate my account being restored.Business Response

Nextdoor has clear guidelines regarding the conduct of its users as it pertains to interactions between neighbors. It does not allow:Attacking, berating, bullying, belittling, insulting, harassing, threatening, trolling, or swearing at others or their views even if you really disagree with them. This includes communication within a group or via direct message. However, these rules are not enforced consistently but rather arbitrarily and in a manner which emphasizes specific political persuasions of either Nextdoor staff or the volunteer community reviewers selected by Nextdoor. Generally, these decisions largely reflect the view of the political left and its current narratives. I have documented many, many instances in which Nextdoor rules are applied/ not applied in a clear biased manner. For the sake of efficiency this complaint focuses on a specific incident. As of the time of this complaint this users personal attacks including derogatory and demeaning comments are still allowed to remain on the platform, even though the user has been reported. See screenshots. In addition, it isnt the first time these two specific users highlighted have teamed up to engage in targeted harassment directed at myself as well as others to include trolling and belittling the ** of that post on literally every single post he makes. Both those users have been allowed to do all this with impunity.Business Response

On 2-29-24 I purchased an apple watch from an individual for $300.00 that had a posting on Nextdoor. Come to find out later that day at the apple store in ************ ** the watch was a fake. I contacted the seller about a refund but he did not agree. Informed Nextdoor of the fraud and was notified that the person's post was taken down. The apple store suggested I file a Police report and include the communication on Nextdoor with this individual. When I went back to my account it had been disabled. I have reached out to Nextdoor several times, have not received any email responses as they say will happen, have requested the thread for the sales so I can include with Police report, not hearing anything back. FYI I have bought and sold on Nextdoor for several years without any issues like this. My name on Nextdoor was Skip D.Business Response
