On June 7, 2023, I contacted JustAnswers.*** with a question about legal services. Their site said that I had to pay $5 joinfee. However, I was then unknowingly charged a $60 monthly membership fee. I never knowingly agreed to join a monthly membership that was $60. I have know canceled my membership and requested a refund of the $60. The customer service representative was rude and refused or was unable to refund the hidden predatory $60 charge. I would not have proceeded with the engagement with justanswers.com if I knew it was going to cost me $60, and $60 every month. I feel justanswers.com is viable service but clandestine predatory charging is unacceptable.Business Response

I came upon this site in a ****** search. It opened directly to a chat window. I told them that I had a legal question and what that question was. I was told that they could help and I just needed to pay $5 fee that was totally refundable and they would set me up to get my question answered. I put in my card information and continued. Later I was in my bank online and saw they charged me the $5 and $39.96! I was in total shock. I immediately went to them and asked what this was and I was told it was a membership fee for a month. According to what I read I was under a free trial. They said because I had a question answered I was not eligible for a refund. This was clearly done in a misleading manner. Making me feel as though they were helping one time on a free trial basis for $5 when that was just a charge to be charging. There is absolutely no reason for that charge other than to mislead customers. This happened today June 16, 2023. They have refused to refund my money. I want my money refunded as this was clearly a bait and switch.Business Response

Hi, I called JustAnswer.com to get help from an expert was told I'd be charged $5. I input my credit card number and then chatted online with the person. I requested a phone call and was charged $26 as agreed, then left a $4 tip. Total would be $35. However, instead of being charged $5, I was charged $39 (the $26 and $4 are OK as I agreed to them). I did not agree to pay $39 or to accept a membership. It seems the company does this to others as I have been reading complaints here. Wish I'd read them before I contacted the company.Business Response

The website *************************************** is a huge scam, this company make you believe that you won't be charged but they need your credit card in their system. Next, this company will CONTINUE to charge you indefinitely even if you never use their website or services again. This company makes money from people who don't realize they are charged monthly over and over for no services or products.Business Response

I subscribed to this business on June 10, the question I ask was 2 parts. I only received partial answer. Every time I went back on to get an answer, they wanted me to pay again. The first time it indicated there was a $1 charge for a question, then on the registration, it ask for $55 membership fee. It also stated, you may cancel anytime. Since I was not receiving a complete answer, I canceled within the same day. I don't feel I should pay for a membership that I didn't keep. Upon contacting the customer service department, I was told "you will not get a refund no matter what you say." As I am confused as I either missed this information, but never saw anything stating no refund. I would like $55 refunded to me account as soon as possible, as they didn't hesitate to deduct this from my account.Business Response

I purchased a brand new Maytag dryer on May 1, 2023. Since the beginning, I've been having problems with it turning on. On 6/14/23, I googled "Maytag repair service near me" and the following link appeared: 24/7 Maytag Washer Repair Help ************************************** Facing Issues With a Maytag Washer? Chat 1:1 with an Appliance Expert For Help Online.Chat Now I didn't recognize the website and was under the impression that I'm entering a ******** enterprise. In order to Chat with an "appliance Expert" I had to provide a credit card and it costs $5.00. (They said it was fully refundable). After speaking with a couple experts it was determined that I need to call Maytag's 800 number to schedule a repair person to come to my house. (???). I thought that I was dealing with ********. I went back on chat to ask for my $5 to be refunded and the chat immediately transferred to an automated system with responses as "What is the make and model of your appliance", etc. When I checked with my credit card, I found that they charged me $5 plus an additional $40. (My credit card rep said that they will take immediate action to negate those transactions. All I wanted was the 800 number. My dryer is brand new and under warranty. This company acts as though they are ********. They should have a disclamer in bold print that says: "We are not a part of nor are we affiliated with Maytag in any way. We are an independent 3rd party that offer Chat advice for a fee". It is very confusing when you see their link on-line.Business Response

Date of transaction: June 10, 2023 I was referred to this when I contacted ******* about a problem I was having with my android phone. I initiated a chat and it was recommended that I contact JustAnswer LLC. I was told that there would be a $1.00 charge which would be reimbursed. I followed that recommendation and a representative suggested that I just turn off the phone and restart it. Naturally it was and easy solution and I should have figured it out myself. Nevertheless I thanked the representative. He then offered a additional phone conversation for $20.00 more. I declined as I no longer had need for their services. I was then shocked to find that neither my $1.00 charge was not reimbursed and that I was charged an additional $55.00 for a membership which I never asked for nor signed up for. I am seeking to be reimbursed for the "membership fee" and the $1.00 "trial" fee.Business Response
