7/29/2025 $65 Stated that they would give you access to an expert to answer a question for a fully refundable $5. I asked my questions and cancelled my account immediately after. I checked my bank account the next day and I was charged $65. I emailed and asked for a refund because it was only supposed to be $5 that was going to be refunded after. I am dissatisfied with its billing practices and subscription model. I thought I had canceled the service just after joining and paying the initial fee. I was therefore surprised when I received a recurring charge of $40 on 7/29/25. Today (7/30) upon seeing the charge I notified them via email immediately of the error and requested a refund. On 7/30/2025, I did a web search looking for ******************** I wanted to find out the dimensions of the cutouts on the back of the Cafe Induction range so I could determine if I had to have the gas line moved before I could have it installed. I was seeking a schematic with some measurements. Unknowingly, I ended up at Just Answer, thinking it was GE. they asked for a $5 fee, stating it was fully refundable, to which I agreed. Someone did call and give me the info I wanted, and I promptly got notified of a $48 charge to my AMEX. The website is quite deceptive in terms of identifying itself (as I said, I thought I was dealing with GE) and definitely does not make their billing policies clear BEFORE they call you back. I'm happy to pay $5, but $48 seems excessive when it wasn't made clear beforehand.Business Response

On July 27, 2025, I sought expert advice from JustAnswer. The advertised price was $5. I chatted with the Bot that asked for information to relate to the expert and find the appropriate service provider. I asked the Bot what the service would cost before chatting with the expert. I did not get a confirmation that the cost was $5, instead a pop up appeared requesting my credit card info for the $5 charge. Yes. The pop up said $5. I filled in my credit card info, and the expert came on immediately and answered my question. After the five minute interaction, I went to my email, and there was an email stating that I had once asked a question before, so now I was being charged $48 instead of $5."Membership details:The $5 join fee has been waived because you are a former member. I was on my Citicard credit card account and was paying my bill when I noticed a $46.00 amount charged to my card from JAL*JustAnswer. I did not recognize the merchant name or the amount so I did a search on the internet for the company name. I knew immediately, that this was fraud! I never spoke or contacted JustAnswer for anything. I am demanding that they refund my Citi card that they billed $46.00 a month (I could only go back to last August for my statements). I lost my parking ticket at *************************. This morning, I got on their website to see if I could find a number I could call. It had a place to chat. I proceeded to explain my problem on what I thought was DFWs chat line. After providing info, I was guided to click on something that said I would be referred to a technician and I needed to pay 5.00, refundable. I decided to do that and used Apple Pay. I was looking for advice online about an animal of mine when I found JustAnswers. I went through their initial AI assessment and came to a page stating that if I wanted to move forward and speak to a professional, I had to pay.
