On 5/13/2024 I visited the Just Answer website regarding a question about a legal matter. It initially requested a $5 fee. After filling out the forms I was connected to a lawyer, Legal Eagle, who after getting my information referred me to another website to buy a form letter to use to request information on my case. That was basically a nonanswer that I could have gotten from any source. I then found out that I had a pending charge of $46 on my card. I tried to contact **************** but kept getting a AI Chat Bot instead. I then canceled the service immediately but was informed that they didn't provide refunds. I only requested $41 because I had knowingly signed up for $5. Also, all attempts to contact **************** were met with an AI response of a representative will be with you shortly. Just Answer charged my account $46 on 4/18/2024 and 5/18/2024. I reported this issue to my banking institution and was provided a new credit card. Yesterday, I viewed my account and noticed that Just Answer submitted another charge despite of my membership cancelation back in January of 2024. I was unhappy with their services and never received the the desired outcome/service requested. I chatted with a customer service representative regarding my concerns, but the representative dropped the ball (no resolution). On 2/1/2024, I received an email from Just Answer discussing their awareness regarding my cancelled membership.During my attempt to provide proof, I had difficulty uploading screenshots of the email on this site. On 4/4/2024 I was looking to fix a computer issue. Just answer responded they would charge $1 but then signed me up for a membership plan at $46 per month. I called back to cancel and they would not. I never subscribed to just answer . I was trying to cancel my subscription to plant parent and the chat person had me click a link to a phone number. I thought it was so I could cancel plant parent app over the phone. I clicked on the phone number and immediately my bank alert sent me a text saying $46 was taken out of my account. I immediately hung up. I didnt ask or talk to anyone. I had my bank refund the $46. Today they have again taken out $46. This occurred 5/10/24. Hello, I didnt realize I was gonna be billed and signed up for a monthly membership. It initially told me $5 but I didnt realize it was $51! I was searching and found Just Answer thought it was pretty good because they advertise as asking a question for $5 to get a professional answer. Nowhere did it state that you needed a membership and would be charged an additional $35 for this membership otherwise I absolutely would have declined. I contacted customer service and they told me I can't get a refund but that I could cancel. I don't even have an account with ********************** because i never was given an option to register with them so I absolutely can't even cancel this membership when I try. I was deceived into this membership and On top of that I am now reading that members will be charged an additional $19.95 to cancel a membership. I would really like to cancel without being charged fees and to get a refund for the $35 membership i never even agreed to.Business Response
