I had a quick question for the **** Their website directed me to Justanswer.com. It seemed to say I would get an answer for $5. It was a very simple question which was answered after a wait. I had no idea they were signing me up for an additional charge of $55, which I saw on my statement on 1 May. I thought maybe I had not read about the charge and decided I just needed to be more careful. However, on 31 May I saw another $55 charge and realized they had somehow gotten me to open an account, which I would never have done intentionally. I tried to find a way to complain to the **** but was unable, since it was not tax fraud. This link from the *** to justanswer.com has likely tricked others, and I see other complaints about people getting charged unknowingly on the internet as well. I am hoping this can be looked into and the *** alerted assuming I am not the only one who has been fooled. I did get justanswer to cancel the account (I did not know I had) and they say they are refunding one of the two $55 payments.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I now see how you sneak people into getting an account. Using IRS in the website title gives one confidence in thinking there is an affiliation, and took me off my guard. When told to get your answer you fill out a form for $5, it seems worth it, again taking me off my guard. Only when I just went back to my history did my eyes catch the small, sneaky print saying I was starting an account that would cost me $55 a month.You refunded me the second $55 I paid. I do not want you to refund the other $55, because I allowed your sneaky business practice to fool me.

On June 7th 2024 I went on to justanswer.com looking for help finding a doctor. Their website says you can use their service for a fully refundable $5. Once you've paid then you'll notice that not only did they charge you the $5 but also a $46 membership fee that was never brought to your attention. Then when you speak with them they adamantly tell you that you agreed to the terms of their membership and so therefore your money is non-refundable. Their customer service people are rude. The person I spoke with kept asking me if I was done yet and then eventually hung up on me. I've emailed a few different people within this company and they've all told me the same thing, that my payment is non-refundable cause I agreed to their terms of service. Which I did not agree to cause it was never brought to my attention. I did not even use this service and I believe I'm entitled to get my money back.Business Response

On June 9th while trying to find BBB this site popped up. The agent on the phone said I needed to pay $5 to get talk with someone. This was after I told her the problem. I payed the $5. Never did she say it would cost more. My problem was than seen by someone. They sent me a note that said they understood the problem. I was prompted to enter my credit card information for a $1 "fully refundable" fee to enter the website, and then I was charged another $60 for a monthly membership, which I DID NOT agree to, and forced into a conversation with an antiques expert. I continue to get charged $12.49 for a service I never signed up for. I feel hacked and completely violated by this site and have yet to speak with an actual human being. The ** says "my account will be closed" but this has happened for 6 months...and I still get the charge. I have no idea what "JustAsk" even is...I know I never signed up for it because they don't have any login information for me. Just answer confirmed that I canceled my policy and membership in July 2023 and yet have been charging my card consistently up until this month. I found the company online and asked a question regarding the value of a set of china I inherited from my father. I was instructed that I would be billed $5 and could cancel at any time. I then found that $65 had been charged to my credit card.
