On April 6, 2024, I noticed my Grammly said I needed to pay to upgrade to premium. I provided all the necessary information showing I paid for it. I told them my daughter needed Grammarly for an important essay. Now I just get an automated message. If I provide evidence I paid the bill why am I getting the run around to put my service back on? I get automated emails.

    Hello,

We have investigated the case and have found the email correspondence between our team and the consumer, indicating that the consumer created two Grammarly subscriptions. To prevent double-billing, our support team canceled the consumer's pending payment for one of the accounts so the consumer can continue using the other account associated with Apple ID for their ********************** needs.

Our support team has provided the instructions on how to access the Premium subscription via email. We kindly ask the buyer to follow them.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have further questions, comments, or requests.

    Hello,

We have investigated the case and have found the email correspondence between our team and the consumer.

As an exception to our refund policy, the consumer's subscription has been deactivated, and the initial payment has been reversed. It may take up to ten business days for the refund to appear on the consumer's statement, depending on their payment method. However, in some cases, the payment will be removed from their statement, and a separate credit won't be issued.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have further questions, comments, or requests.

I had a monthly subscription that automatically renewed on 3/31/2024 without my knowledge. Consequently, $144 was taken from my bank account on 3/31/2024. This automatic payment put me in a financial deficit. It would have been nice to have notification that the subscription would renew automatically. This is my first complaint. But my biggest concern/complaint is that when I cancelled the subscription on 4/3/2024, I was notified that I would not get a refund and that my subscription would cancel after 1 year on 3/31/2025. This is terrible business practice! I can understand if the subscription renewed months ago. But it had only been 3 days! As soon as I noticed the charge, I cancelled. I make this complaint to warn other consumers to only use the FREE Grammarly and never ever sign up for a subscription. Or maybe even find another editing app with better business practices.

Hello,I am needing to get help with receiving a refund I was charged for the product though I requested a cancellation prior to trial date ending. I sent my request to wire tye refund back because **** said they would send a refund immediately now there saying it may take up to 10 days to release the funds back which is not mentioned in their refund policy day of purchase. 10 days to issue a refund is ridiculous and bizarre.

Grammarly has stopped working on Android phones. I raised a tech support issue and they said they were discontinuing it, so I asked for a refund. They agreed to pay half of my annual subscription but only to the original method of payment, which I no longer have access to. I updated the credit card on file and asked to refund there. They refused and deactivated my account. So I have neither the product nor the refund...

Date of transaction: 3/08/2024 Amount paid: $144 I decided to sign up for the grammarly premium free trial as I am a college student and after seeing many ads pop up about it I wanted to see if it would be useful to aid me in writing my papers. I quickly noticed that the premium service was not very helpful and cancelled the trial. I then got an email from paypal saying that $144 dollars had been taken from my Navy Federal account for **********************. I was confused and checked my Navy Federal account and it said pending so I thought it was one of those holds that would go away because I cancelled the trial. I froze my card to make sure the payment wouldnt go through just as a precaution but unfroze it later, thinking that since I cancelled the trial, the pending transaction would go away and I should not be worried. Today 03/09/2024 I checked my account and the charge fully went through. I would like a refund for my troubles. Free trials are to test out the product or service and when they get cancelled, money should be refunded.

I was automatically charged $144.00 by Grammarly on 12/5/23. I disputed this with the credit card company and explained that the account was canceled already. The charge was credited back to my account. I was then charged $144.00 again in January. I contacted the credit card company again to file another dispute but now the credit card company (Ally) is saying it's a valid charge. This is completely unfair. I plan to close that credit card as soon as this issue is resolved.I have tried contacting Grammarly but there is no actual person to speak with, only support services are online. The problem is, that when I canceled the account in December, they closed the account and revoked my permissions. I have no way to speak with anyone nor do I have any extra money to pay for services not received or wanted. I have not logged in (because the account is closed) or used Grammarly services since December. PLEASE HELP.

    Hello,

Let us note that we don't provide phone support at this time and focus on providing high-quality responses by email.

According to our analysis, the consumer has filed a chargeback with their bank. As the chargeback was disputed, the payment was not refunded by the bank. Please note that we couldnt refund the payment until this case was reviewed by their bank. Rest assured that we have now refunded the consumer's payment, and it will appear on the consumer's statement within the next ten business days. Our support team has also contacted the consumer directly via their Grammarly account email address to share more details on this issue.

    Better Business Bureau
    Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to file a formal complaint against Grammarly, a company offering writing assistance services, for unethical business practices and lack of transparency in their billing process.
Last year I signed up for Grammarly's service and provided my credit card information for payment. However, to my dismay, I recently discovered that Grammarly had automatically billed me $144 for another year of service without any prior notification or consent from my end. This unauthorized charge appeared on my credit card statement without any warning or option to renew or cancel the subscription.
This lack of transparency is deeply concerning and reflects poorly on Grammarly's business ethics. As a consumer, I believe it is my right to be informed about any upcoming charges and given the choice to renew or terminate the service. Grammarly's practice of silently renewing subscriptions and charging customers without their consent is deceptive and unacceptable.
I strongly urge the Better Business Bureau to investigate this matter and take appropriate action against Grammarly for their unethical business practices. Additionally, I request assistance in resolving this issue and obtaining a refund for the unauthorized charge.
Please feel free to contact me at ************** or ****************** if you require any further information or clarification regarding this complaint. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
    Sincerely,
