1 starMy report contained information from multiple people with my name, which would lead a viewer to believe things that do not apply to me. This service hands out personal information to anybody who wants it, this is no better than a telemarketer saying "you want to know anything about anybody without a valid reason, here it is for a low price of .." Wildly inaccurate reports, ought to be refunded. They even failed to find 90% of my public social media accounts..

1 starTruthFinder operates on a blueprint that appears to flout privacy laws, potentially violating CCPA and similar state regulations.Non-Consensual Data Collection: They steal your personal information without permission.Paywall Extortion: They demand payment just to access what they took, forcing you to pay (in my case, $28.33).Excessive Verification Barriers: You must provide extensive details in my case, I went with screenshots, direct profile links, scans of government-issued ID, email, phone number, and previous correspondence just to request deletion.Failure to Delete: Even after complying, they refused to delete my data, claiming they couldnt verify my identity despite all the evidence provided.This approach isnt merely unethicalit borders on illegality, with potential violations including: CCPA Non-Compliance: Leading to $2,500+ in statutory damages FTC Act Section 5: Unfair and deceptive practices Potential Wire Fraud: Under 18 U.S. Code 1343 TruthFinders model is predatory. They exploit privacy for profit rather than providing a genuine service. My demand is simple: Delete my data immediately, refund my $28.33, and provide proof of compliance within seven (7) days. I also insist that they cease all future data collection and publication regarding my personal ************** others: Avoid this company at all costs. Nothing you have written has, in any way shape or form, indicated that your practice is morally permissible. I did not ask to remove my background. Let's be clear. What you are doing is wrong. You should be ashamed of yourself. If you tell yourself, "it's just a job", then count yourself among all the others who have used the same rationalization to be terrible people. However, your Unlimited Person Reports Membership remained active, which resulted in the $30.20 recurring charge.The charges associated with the payment method in question have been disputed, resulting in a chargeback. When a chargeback occurs, it indicates that the account is in dispute with the financial institution, and the individual should contact the institution directly for any refund requests. The membership was promptly canceled and deactivated, with no additional charges to be incurred. 1 starAdvertised as a FREE background check service but they lied. The website has an extreme amount of windows to click through; each one with a loading bar that goes painfully slow to load the EXACT SAME information it claimed to have loaded on the VERY FIRST PAGE. Some things it must be loading 3 or 4 times. Some loading bars don't even clarify what they are loading at all. And there is a clear warning label about clicking off screen or leaving to go somewhere else causing you to lose all progress of the time you have already wasted. It's all a scam to get you frustrated enough if/when you finally do get to the end to give up some personal information for free so they can spam email you and store and sell your data... And then (7 windows later) still force you to pay. I dont doubt plenty of people feel ashamed and invested for waiting so long you feel forced to pay so you won't have to jump through the same hoops with the same or even some other company. Terrible scam. They even advertised as having 5 stars by the BBB but that is obviously a lie as well.Truthfinder

1 starI will never use Truthfinder again. Cancelled my subscription but for some reason only "part" of my subscription was cancelled. Been getting charged $30 every month for 4 months now. I call to figure out why it didn't cancel when I hit cancel and was told I didn't cancel everything. Doesn't make sense to me because there was only one "cancel" button to click so how could there be more than one subscription? Was told it is company policy to only refund up to 2 months. So long story short Truthfinder has stolen $60 from me for a service that I cancelled. What a scam.Truthfinder
