The company Intelius and its affiliated/sister companies and parent company People Connect has compiled a dossier containing sensitive information such as my full address, full legal name, their website also states it possesses my telephone number and additional information which I have been unable to verify. The company offers to provide this information to anyone for a fee. In doing so this company is bringing unnecessary attention to me and making information about me that I actively work to keep private, publicly available. This negatively impacts my privacy and general well-being and feeling of safety knowing anyone such a potential 'doxxer (information leaker)', stalker or other 'unfriendly individual' could use to harm REMOVEDhave made informal attempts to resolve the conflict:1. The company's parent site offers a way to 'manage'/'suppress' one's personal information using their 'suppression tool'. This tool however seems to want the user to establish an account of sorts and to agree to a privacy policy and terms and conditions which contain a arbitration agreement which does have an opt out and a mandatory class action wavier. In a sense this almost feels like extortion by requiring me to surrender my legal rights to protect myself in order to delist information which should be private by default.2. Called the company directly to express my concerns and attempt to resolve the issue, 'customer service' was not helpful and directed me back to the suppression tool saying it was the only option.3. Contacted the company's privacy contact as listed however the email bounced as the recipient server failed to accept my email.Unfortunately due to the unsatisfactory responses I have revived, I have found it necessary to involve the Better Business Bureau in the hopes it can provide assistance before I consider the involvement of additional parties or any other legal means available to me.

Intelius refuses to honor my cancellation request. Ive now submitted multiple requests to cancel the subscription; I havent used the subscription since requesting the cancellation and still they continue to charge my account. Their website has changed when I log in and the option to cancel doesnt appear.

When a user activates their account, they must provide an electronic signature authorizing Intelius to charge their payment method as described, including for the automatic renewal of their membership. Our Billing Terms are conspicuously explained on our registration page and in our Terms of Use. Customers are sent a confirmation email for any orders placed on the site.
Customers are able to cancel online from within their account, through our Customer Phone Support, or by sending an email to [email protected]. After a thorough investigation, we have determined that no cancellation attempts were made through any of these channels.
As a courtesy, we have cancelled all memberships and refunded REMOVEDaccount back to the payment option used to enroll, and no further charges will be incurred. In the past I have opted out of having my name listed on the website of the data broker, Intelius.com. They removed my name but it is now back. Their opt out procedure is no longer in place and they are now asking those who wish to be removed to agree to their terms of service first. I am not a customer of REMOVEDand therefore do not want to agree to any of their terms. I just want my named removed once again from their listings.

I've tried for several days to use the peopleconnect suppression tool to get rid of mine and my family's information. I've attempted to go to REMOVED, scroll down that page of utter bs and find the "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" link. I "requested a copy of my data" and on the page I then licked "Right to opt out" and then "Do not share user data". I waited for 48 hours and nothing has changed.Get rid of mine and my family's information. Anything related to my contact info and the numbers REMOVED.You're a trash company full of trash people.

Intelius offers removal of personal data from their site but I've contacted them many times to remove my data for safety reasons and it remains online. I've gotten a few boilerplate responses saying they need more info to verify my identity. I provide that and the circle starts over again. Even if a report cannot be purchased, my data must be removed from the sites. (My name, age, locations and relative MAY be listed in Intelius site cache. Thank you for your follow up. I have not closed out this complaint because Intelius removed most of my data from its site, but not all. They still have a few URL's to go on one of their related sites. They got in touch with me and I responded as such. But my email got an autoresponder email saying they would get to it in 10 days. If you can reach out to them again to speed things up, that would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

Data brokers like Intelius are a public nuisance. I don't know what service you think you are providing by publicly posting personal details including address, home phone number and REMOVEDdata online. This puts seniors at risk. It is completely unethical and disgusting. In order to suppress your information, Intelius asks you to sign up for an account. It is free, but this is nonsense. Purchase Intelius service for a back ground check which I need for my work. Upon reviewing my report it is not even close to accurate. It lists employment that I've never had, addresses where I've never lived, homes I've never purchased, didn't find any criminal history report (which was one of the main reason I purchase I needed to have the exact dates for REMOVEDI had) Spouse was wrong, they didn't even get my race correct. It was missing 90% of my employment history, with only a couple accrue jobs listed. They listed my brothers and sisters but per there report I'm related to about 25 other people I've never heard of.On and on and on ..It's like they just took some random information and put it together on a report.

Per the Terms of Use, which REMOVEDagreed to when he purchased his subscription plan, Intelius will use commercially reasonable efforts to deliver the information you requested through the Companys REMOVED; provided, however, you accept all information "AS IS." You acknowledge and agree that Intelius obtains its data from third-party sources, which REMOVEDor REMOVEDnot be completely thorough and accurate, and that you shall not rely on Intelius for the accuracy or completeness of information supplied through its REMOVED. Without limiting the foregoing, the criminal record data that REMOVEDbe provided as part of the Companys REMOVEDinclude records that have been expunged, sealed, or otherwise have become inaccessible to the public since the date on which the data was last updated or collected. You understand that you REMOVEDbe restricted from accessing certain information and services which REMOVEDbe otherwise available.
As noted in the Terms of Use, we also prohibit the use of the Intelius website for any business purpose, which REMOVEDinclude but is not limited to, employment screening, tenant screening, or credit checks.
Based on information supplied in his complaint, we have determined that REMOVEDmembership subscription was not being used in accordance with our Terms of Use. We have cancelled and refunded his subscription account in full. This refund will be processed back to his PayPal account within the next 3-5 business days, per PayPals internal refund policies.

MEMBER ID: REMOVEDwith this company I used their company services back in May have 2022 the charge should have been .99 but instead I was charged over $12 I immediately called and told them I wanted to service canceled since i no longer needed it. I assumed it had been done I guess that was my 1st problem, I called repeatedly asking them to cancel this This account but which they never did. I had originally bulled the charge on a credit card of which I had also given one to my daughter, on that credit card I had auto pay established so I didn't even think twice when my auto payments were coming out on a monthly basis assuming that these were charges my daughter was using the card. this week for some reason I logged in to look at my account and behold Intelius has been billing me all along I have filed a complaint with my credit card company I reported my card lost and stolen becausehat seems to be the only way I can stop them from charging but I would like them to reverse all those charges as you can see and it can be verified I never logged in to a the intelius account since May 2022 or did anything other than that 1st time that I accessed it.
