      I payed for a 3 day trial subscription on April 11th for $.95 . I searched for what I wanted. I go to cancel the subscription, I cancel it, and it says its canceled. Then on April 12th I am charged $69.95. How did that happen? Why did it happen? That is 1. Not a three day trail and 2. Not a purchase I confirmed. I am honestly just confused and upset. I liked the overall experience up until this point. Please help me to understand and figure out what went wrong here so that I can trust this website again.

      Company charged $28.89 to my debit card yesterday and last month without my permission. They did not send me a receipt for either charge. Tried to call, put on hold forever. Tried to enter my alleged People Finders account. Their system did not recognize my email which I have had forever. Filed fraud claim with my bank. Want charge reversed immediately and ALL of my data removed from their databases. If I have an account close it. I see they have over ****************************** the last year.       I was being telephone harassed for 24 hours and decided to use peoplefinders.com to attempt to see who was harassing me. They offer a no obligation cancel anytime trial membership for $0.99. I paid the 99 cents and searched the number which had no information at all. I immediately cancelled the trial within minutes of signing up. I received a confirmation email that it was cancelled. 3 day later they charged me ***** monthly fee. Absolutely no one will help me to get my money back. I feel robbed!!

      Attempted to cancel a subscription and discovered that one-click cancellation was unavailable when I was met with an error message reading "Sorry, we are unable to process your request." Left with no choice but to dial the company's ***** number, I was subjected to a 30-minute hold in order to speak with someone in the "cancellation department." Upon calling back and holding for an additional 15 minutes, the customer service agent refused to explain why PeopleFinders was not in compliance with recently passed state and federal one-click cancellation laws. In response to an email confirming cancellation, I reiterated my question about one-click compliance and was ignored. Today, I discovered my account was closed out and I was barred from using the servicewhich was done without my being notified and clearly in retaliation. This is a business with a history of questionable billing and business practices.

      The company is coldly reiterating what it has already communicated, while offering questionable justification for closing out the accountan account I've had for nearly fifteen years and thus contains archived searches, etc. I've been able to maintain the account without always having an active subscription, so closing out the account is punitive and it's a flexing of muscle. PeopleFinders is a company with a history of anti-consumer, unethical business practices, and its ethical profile is well-documented online (as well as on GlassDoor). For a guy who's a private investigator, its CEO (*** ******) has done a poor job of hiding his curious relationships with Russian women who are a third of his age. I think there's a lot to explore insofar as Mr. ******** proclivities and PeopleFinders's business dealings. So if PeopleFinders wants to flex its muscle, I can flex mine too.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      PeopleFinders.com's history of engaging in unethical, suspect business practices and end-user hostility is as well-documented as its founder/CEO *** ******** curious and ostensibly lecherous preoccupation with Russian women 50 years his junior. PeopleFinders has been scummy from the very outset I began dealing with this company circa 2011. User complaints recorded here and elsewhere, as well as employee and ex-employee narratives on GlassDoor, paint a grim picture of questionable and exploitative billing practices, and an incendiary manner of dealing with aggrieved subscribers. Current and former employees have published online accounts of receiving multiple calls from angry, or "crazy," customers every shift they've worked. It's really the company, and not the end users, who is the problem. PeopleFinders is the common denominator here.

      And yeah, I "threatened" to show up at your offices purely out of frustrationdue to long hold times (***** minutes per call) and antagonistic support representatives.

      If you insist on playing hardball with me and refusing to reinstate my account, understand that your company and all its personnel are entering onto the wrong radar screen. I'll escalate this and will make it my mission to hold this company to account, even if I have to play dirty.

      I was looking up information on a specific phone number, this website specifically advertised that they had information on the phone number in question but that I needed to pay $5 for access to the information after already paying $0.95 for a "trial" and once I paid $5 the website simply showed me a screen stating "no data available"

      I purchased a one time People Finders search for $3.95 on March 6 2025. Then on March 6, 2025 $29.95 (insert 1235) was deducted from my bank account ) and again on April 6, 2025 $29.95.(insert 1236) was deducted from my bank account Total deduction $59.90. I emailed People Finders several times asking for a $59.90 refund. and also called them only to be placed on hold. Finally on April 15, 2025 (insert 1241) I was emailed that my "Premium Membership" was cancelled effective May 6, 2025. but no refund. I demand a refund of $59.90 from People Finders . I never wanted a Premium Membership or have I used this membership. I am 91 years old and a senior citizen and I really hate to be ripped off because of technicalities. *** ******

      I am rejecting this response because: I never agreed to a "Premium Membership" by People Finders.   I never used this membership or have need for it.  Contacting this company is a waste of time.. People Finders is running a legal scam. They invoice anybody that accesses their web site and sign them up to a "Premium Membership. when customers complain they are sent a confusing list of why they are right and consumer wrong.       They falsely charged me $24.95 AFTER I canceled the free membership before it was renewed. The original free membership was $0.95. Not bad, right? Wrong. They charged me TWO DAYS after I cancelled the membership before they SAID they would renew on the website. I canceled on the 14th of April. The renewing date was the 16th. They then pulled the money from my account. They also don't allow you to remove your card info from your account, which is already shady. This is practically stealing and I have emailed them about it. They never got back with me the first time. I emailed them again. If they don't get back with me nor refund me, I will call my bank and mark it as a false and fraudulent charge.

      I found out this company had charged my debt card in the month of Febm 2025. I called their company and the recorded line advised you to log in to cancel the account, well , I've never had an account with this company. I spoke with a live person and was told that I didn't have an account when providing some information, well today, (4/8/2025) the company is still charging my debt card, I called again today (4/8/2025) and Spoke with a live person, and I explained to the person this is the second call to this company, the person asked me some questions, and 2 out of the 3 questions seems like it my account but there was two accounts using my debt card. After saying that I was going to report them, the person placed me on hold , gave me confirmation number to say that they closed the account, and I must follow up with my bank, I asked the person of he could email me the confirmation he said no, I asked him if he had an email, he said no. After the conversation with people finder, I called my bank and informed them of what was going on. later on my account had been refunded from people finder. Everyone please keep an eye out for all the scams

      I did a one time look up and specifically opted out of any subscription. They charged me a subscription fee two days later. I cant get a hold of their support either. Incredibly dishonest. I mean I opted out of everything despite their sly user experience. Dont ever use this site. Its basically a scam to pilfer money from you.
