I was signed up for a membership for peoplefinders without my knowledge. I only pulled a report that said it will be around $3. After I saw I was also charged ***** in a few days for a monthly membership, I called to cancel immediately and they said they cannot credit this charge but will cancel going forward. I tried to fight it since this is a scam in my eyes and said I'll dispute with ******. However I didn't set up my dispute with ****** the right way and was denied. Thinking I already paid for the 1st month anyway I decided to use their service, might as well if I'm out the money. To my shock, they had closed/ locked my account already because I mentioned I would dispute with ******. The fraud is that I paid for a service (one month) and was denied such service. Then I would have used your service for that month. However, my account was closed before the time frame I had prepaid the service for. I am rejecting this response because: As explained numerous times, over the phone and on my complaint, the bottom line is I have paid money, but not given the service. I also have not filed a FALSE dispute. It was a legitimate dispute, and regardless you cannot cancel my account for the month I have paid for. This is day -time robbery. I will continue to pursue your malpractice even though it's not a huge amount of money. When I checked on a phone number, peoplefinders.com said that I would be charged a 1 time fee of .95 for the phone number which I was okay with. Prior to even receiving my report, I was prompted to pay .50 for a PDF which is below. There was a lack of tranperancy here as I was unaware of a 3 day trial. If you are told that it is .95 for a report and then not told about an account, then it's not right. No fine print. Now although I canceled my membership, I am being hung up on when asking for my fee back. Not only was there a lack of tranperancy, they never said Prior to getting the report that they didn't have the information requested. It was a blank page. I further opted to have my information taken from their public records as I do not want my information used now. The simple lack of tranperancy and the fact that when I originally contacted customer service and they said that I didn't even have an account requires in my instance that they fully refund not only the $24.95, but the $.95 and $.50 charged previously. I request this to happen immediately. The company is nontransperent and do not give terms either by email or prior to trying to get a single report. Not only that, but they are not BBB rated and so many reports have previously been made. They hang up on you when trying to resolve an issue.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Please note that at no time during my initial purchase did it say anything about a 3 day trial of your service that did not deliver results. It said that it was .95 to see my results. At no point did this deliver me to a page or anything stating that it'd be a 3 day trial. As a customer at that point, I assumed it'd be just a fee for the single result which was nothing. They said that they found a result and they had no information on the phone number. This is not a way to run a business. They are not BBB certified and they have had continuous complaints. My next step would be to reach out to a lawyer. 10-11-25 I was trying to cancekl a trial membership , ***** was gong to chaarge me fees after 3 days from 10-11-25. I was clicking on cancel and somehow I ordered a Lifetime membership of $69.95/ month. I did not intend to do this, I don't know how this happened, their cancelation page is very misleading, instead of just canceling it has many requests to not cancel, I guess?I did not agree to terms of service, I did not intend to order this. I used this service back in 2022 to search up someone, and during that time i used the free trial. I made sure to cancel the subscription and have not had any problems.
