      I authorized a one time charge of $0.95 to research a number that was a scam. Instead, I have been charged and scammed by peoplefinders.com. They used two charges of $14.95 and $24.95 respectively. This was through paypay whom I have contacted and with whom I am resolving this case. This is a fraudulent company.

      Same as the multiple claims below. Signed up for $0.95 trial. Canceled immediately as I had no need for further service. Even though I received a cancellation notice I was billed $24.95 on my PayPal. When requesting a refund for the unauthorized transaction, Peoplefinders stated "oh that was the other service you signed up for" they are now currently giving me the run around. They are either using deceptive business practices or there are bugs in there website that need to be addressed.

      I tried to open an account and tan algorithm of some sort mistakenly flagged my perfectly legitimate **** of America debit card as fraudulent so the company flagged it permanently and closed my email account. I called to resolve it and they refused to clear it. I want my name, email, and card cleared.

      On April 1, 2024, I used PeopleFinders to search background information on a potential client. I agreed to a $3.95 charge for a one-time search. I also paid another $.50 to have a report generated. In checking my bank account four days later, I saw that PeopleFinders charged an additional $29.95 for **************** I never intentionally signed up for Premium. When I called PeopleFinders for a refund, they said I had used the service for one day, and they insisted on refunding only $27 and some change. PeopleFinders is fraudulently tricking people into signing up for Premium. Be careful if you chose to use this site. Personally, I refuse to use such a dishonest service, and I will never use PeopleFinders again.

You had the option to cancel this membership trial at any time on the website, via email, or with a representative over the phone.       I am rejecting this response because:  Your website provides the option of selecting the discounted price of $3.95 or the option of *************** for $29.95.  It doesn't say that if you select $3.95 option you will automatically be enrolled in $29.95 ***************.  Your website is designed to scam people.  I want my $2.00 back.  While you are at it, maybe you can comment on why your business is rated "F" with the Better Business Bureau.

      I created a PeopleFinders account on 1/25/2024 after seeing a .99 cents advertisement to search for records. While looking for only one record, I found that the provided information was incomplete and did not justify the expense. I canceled the subscription immediately. I had no intention of opting for a subscription. Unfortunately, when I checked my credit card account on 4/2/2024, I noticed recurring charges levied. On 4/2/2024, I contacted PeopleFinders seeking a refund for an unintentional subscription after a $1 trial. During a call with *********, the representative was rude, and the call ended abruptly. I am requesting a refund for three charges (3/5/2024, 2/5/2024, 1/5/2024), each amounting to $24.95, emphasizing the promised refund for dissatisfaction.I forwarded my cancelation confirmation email to customer service and they said you only canceled one membership. I call them by phone an got one only month refunded.By the way, I simply copied/pasted one of the many complaints and changed the dates. Deceptive and egregious business practices. A class action lawsuit waiting to happen

      Paid for one time use and then received a charge on my PayPal account for *****. I did not authorize signing up for a regular membership and no terms for a reoccurring billing were specified. I immediately cancelled but was not refunded the *****. I called their support number and was told there was nothing they could do about the charge.

      I am rejecting this response because: My dispute through PayPal was denied, but I still feel that PeopleFinders business practices are deceptive.  They bury the fact that you are signing up an expensive monthly charge deep in a user agreement that they know that the majority of people will not read.  And even though I cancelled the subscription the same day as the charge posted they refuse to give me a refund.  ************ was of no use to me.  It did not find the phone number I was looking for and what it did return was random and had no connection to what I was searching for.  They say they cannot offer a refund because I opened a case with PayPal, but even though that case is closed they refuse to give a refund.

      I am rejecting this response because: PeopleFinders is a deceptive service.  They provide no recourse if their services are incorrect.  My search results returned results that were totally unrelated and of no use to me.  They also bury in their User Agreement that you are signing up for an expensive monthly service.  When I received the first charge I immediately cancelled and disputed the charge with PayPal, but they refused to refund the charge.  I would definitely steer away from this company. Signing you up for an expensive monthly charge without properly informing you what you are getting into seems to be part of their business model, so buyer beware.

      Online add is misleading. Makes you think it's .95 for a simple search and then they charge you more for a second subscription that's not even made known to you until after you are charged.

      I subscribed to peoplefinder on March 18th of 2024, with a free trial of 3 days. I used their database once. I found their services unsatisfactory. I cancelled the membership on the date of subscription, March 18th, 2024. On March 21st I was billed $24.95. I have written complaints to Peoplefinder and PayPal, requesting a refund. Both claims were denied. Peoplefinder claims I had two memberships and I only cancelled one. I don't know how I could have signed up for 2 memberships with one registration form. As I stated, I only used the membership database one time. I would like my money back, but also to warn others about this fraudulent company.

      I am rejecting this response because: I contacted Peoplefinder before contacting the credit card company and paypal. Peoplefinder denied the claim first, forcing me to take further actions. This company never had any intention of making this right. Paypal is siding with them so I also must cancel my paypal account for denying the claim. BBB is to alert others to the scam which is this company called Peoplefinder.

      The peoplefinders.com website charged me ***** I didnt even use their service so I am not sure how they got my information to charge it I am going to contact my bank but I want the business contacted and want them to return the money because this is not right this is theft.

      When you signed up with Peoplefinders, you agreed to our Terms of Service and agreed to be billed for the services you selected, which may include recurring membership fees.       I have spend weeks trying to have my information removed unsuccessfully.  Following its removal, it has re-appeared and still appears on partner sites.   Peoplefinders has not followed its process.
