I have requested for my information to be opted out of their website. I went through all of the opt out steps and it would not accept the requested URL. I emailed them for help and they redirected me to the same opt out process that did not work. They are refusing to remove my personal identifying information from their public website. I did not give them permission to display my personal information and I have requested it be removed. Service is flawed. It gives a "no criminal records" found when I personally know one of my look *** went to prison for 6 years (my brother). People should avoid this service.Business Response

There is also the possibility that the criminal records we have on file contain inaccuracies from the reporting court or other agency. From September 2022 until February 2023, they there a monthly charge on my card for $19.95. There where only a hire for one month.When I called them, they told me they could only offer a $6.55 partial credit for February 2023 because they had no control over the charges. This business still serves me and everyone else who seeks their services, and they are well aware that individuals only need the service once, but they still con people into paying for something they didn't receive. You had the option during this 30-day window to cancel this membership one of three ways. Your three options were: To either cancel directly on the website through your dashboard, contacting PeopleFinders directly via email, or by calling our toll-free number and canceling with a representative. Our record show you've exercised none of these cancelation options, therefore, the membership remained on your account. PeopleFinders is a self-controlled website and will only honor the customer's request. It is only until February 24th, 2023 we received your first ever form of communication via phone call expressing your desire to cancel your monthly membership. At this time, we have followed company protocol and issued you a 'courtesy' prorated refund for $13.95. We ask at this time that you please review the Terms of Service that you agreed to at the time of your $9.95 purchase for more information about refunds or other policies.

I just used your service for a month and paid for a month's worth of it.
My credit card is not yours to hold hostage while you continue to collect your fee each month. Even with all of your shenanigans, I only authorize one month, therefore I never give you my consent to do it. Furthermore, I never requested your promotion.
I've just logged in once, but I've already gathered all the data I required.
I would want to say that businesses established by people like these are designed to make money without offering any goods or services, and they are well aware of the con.
I would urge the BBB legal department to become involved in this situation.Business Response

In order to get the $9.95 price for the first month, you had to check the box agreeing to Peoplefinders' membership details, privacy policy, and consumer terms of use. You could have cancelled any time within that first month by either cancel directly on the website through your dashboard, contacting PeopleFinders directly via email, or by calling our toll-free number and canceling with a representative. Our record's show you've exercised none of these cancelation options, therefore, the membership remained active, whether you used it or not. We issued a courtesy refund even though the terms you agreed to clearly states we do not offer membership refunds. There is no issue or complaint to resolve as we are not responsible for your monthly finance monitoring, and we have went above and beyond to accommodate you.

I am rejecting this response because:This is the first time I've ever bought a service, and they've set up a payment schedule that benefits the seller exclusively. No one has set an auto charge like you have, despite the fact that I have purchased several other services.I sign up for a month of service, and I have a basic command of the English language. I had no idea I was using a service that would hurt consumers.
I had a ***** write all these letters for me, but I would not have done so if I had known beforehand that you cannot provide a one-month service without any conditions.
never will I consent to use your services.
Once more, I'm requesting a complete refund for all the months you automatically charged my credit card.
