    I was told about Spokeo from a Friend. I got on the web site and initially was told the report was .95 and I believe their was a cost to download, like .50. I was ok with this. Next thing you know I get a message on screen that I cannot go any further, BUT this company charged my credit card ***** 2 times and then additonal .95. I sent emails and said I would file a complaint. I want ALL my money returned. I will not do business with this unethical company. Next I get a message saying they will issue a refund for ***** x 2 but not the .95. I never got anything for my money and looking on the internet this is not the first time this company has defrauded unsuspecting Folks, like myself. Please assist.

Since all ********************** subscriptions automatically renew to prevent service interruption, trials that were left unchanged, were charged on the service's renewal date. Furthermore, cancelling your service only disables your subscription from renewing and does not offer a refund. Since all Spokeo services are prepaid, your service will last the duration of the period purchased.

    When making a purchase, we do our best to let you know about the kind of information we may have available. In addition, we gather our data from 12 billion public records, ranging from census data to public social media profiles. New information is added to our system every day. Spokeo does not originate or create data, so our data reflects that of the original sources. Spokeo does not guarantee data accuracy, and the data should only be used as a reference. We are, however, constantly working to expand and improve the data available on our site. New information is added to our system every day and I suggest you check back for new updates.

    Please note, while our subscription services do include, name, email, phone number, and address searches; any additional services such as historical records, court records, enhanced background reports, or higher search quotas are offered for an additional price.     I can confirm that this subscription has already been disabled back on July 27, 2025. This discontinues all future charges for Spokeo.

    I have a .95 charge on July 9 from Spokeo.com on my debit card, which I did not notice until today, July 17, when a $29.95 charge appeared on my debit card. I went to Spokeo.com to see if I could login even though I don't think I have a Spokeo account. Lo and behold, I could not login. So I called them and got escalated to a supervisor and no one could find my account because I DON'T HAVE ONE. So they couldn't "refund" my money because they couldn't find any record of a transaction. This is total ********, I did not use Spokeo for ANYTHING back on July 9, hence why they can't find my account (I don't have one). What a scam! I submitted a claim with my bank, but how do I keep from being charged every month? I don't want to have to cancel my debit card and get a new one!

    I used Spokeo to try to find a person I met on a Trade show. I agreed to pay $0.95 on June 21 2025. I never thought about it again until reviewing my credit card statement I saw a charge of $29.95 (June 29 2025) for "Spokeo" with no other documentation. I never signed up for anything other than the $0.95 one time fee......I see that this has been a recurring problem with Spokeo, all the reviews are about the same and I would like to have my money back. I called them yesterday and they issued a $11.98 refund instead of a full refund for a reason that I didn't even understand.

    My complaint is exactly the same as the other. I only authorized a $0.95 search but they are charging a monthly recurring fee of $29.95. This seems to be fraud or theft and should be criminal, if it isnt. They clearly have not changed their practices.

    I went to Spokeo website to look up information on a suspected scam phone number. The website offered a trial membership for $0.95, which I accepted and had charged to ******. I got the report, which didn't provide any useful information, and promptly cancelled my trial account.I saw the ****** receipt a few minutes later and the charge was for $5.95.I called Spokeo and spoke with agent ID 1731. She said the charge was an add on for court records and pdf downloads.I didn't need this feature, did not see it offered, and DID NOT authorize it. The agent was very helpful and quickly refunded it.HOWEVER, if I hadn't checked my receipt, I would have been charged for something I didn't authorize, which I consider poor business at best and fraud at worst. I THINK THIS IS A DELIBERATE EFFORT BY SPOKEO TO GET MORE MONEY--THEY'RE COUNTING ON THE **** THAT MOST PEOPLE WON'T CHECK THEIR RECEIPT, AND EVEN IF THEY DO, THEY'LL JUST IGNORE IT RATHER THAN GO TO THE TROUBLE OF GETTING IT REFUNDED.

    I canceled my membership over a month ago with Spokeo. It took $30 out of my bank account and I had to recancel the subscription I ALREADY canceled. I really need that $30.

    Several months or more ago I used Spokeo to try to find a lost relative. I agreed to pay $.95...the search was not successful. I never thought about it again until a few months ago when reviewing my credit card statement I saw a charge of $29.95 for "Spokeo" with no other documentation. I checked again on subsequent credit card summaries and the charge appears again though I never signed up for anything other than the $.95 one time fee......I see that this has been a recurring problem with Spokeo and I would like it stopped and have my money refunded to me.

    Spokeo is charging me a monthly subscription fee for something I did not sign up for and am not able to cancel. Allegedly I would be able to cancel easily by logging in, but I do not have a login email/password with this business, so I'm unable to. I've tried resetting my password and logging in with ******, but I never get a reset email because I do not have an account. I don't even know what it is or how they got my credit card information. I'm pretty sure this is a scam, and I can't contact the business.I've disputed with my bank, and now have to get a new card to stop the transactions, but I want a refund for the $195.50 that they've charged me in the last year.

    Despite concerted efforts and prior requests for a right to deletion to prevent future sharing of my personal data from Spokeo and their family of sites such as ThatsThem, they have continued to reinstate my information. The sharing of information poses significant safety and privacy concerns leaving individuals vulnerable to exploitation and misuse of the data collected and sold.
