Date of Transaction: 6/06/24 Amount of Money Paid: $159.00 Receipt number: 2174-6839 Invoice number: 32EE0818-0002 This business charged me $159.00 for an automatic renewal I did not authorize. When I contacted them to politely ask for a refund, they wrote back, Regarding your concern about the auto-renewal, it's part of LeetCode's terms and policy, which was agreed upon explicitly when you made the purchase. We understand that this might have caused some confusion, and we appreciate your feedback on this matter. I wrote them back confirming cancelation but they never responded.Normally I would accept this as being fair, but in this circumstance, they made it unreasonably difficult on their website to check the status of any subscription, or the status of any auto-renewal. I spent over fifteen minutes trying to navigate the site one month ago to find my subscription status, as I wasnt certain if it would auto-renew or not, and I wanted to cancel the subscription if so. I couldnt find anything regarding my order or my purchase of the annual subscription last year, so I made the reasonable assumption it would not auto-renew. I never received any kind of notification whatsoever of an upcoming auto-renewal, or that the subscription would auto-renew when I initially made the purchase a year ago. In the Account Menu attached picture, as you can see, the only option a reasonable individual would make when searching for their subscription status is Orders.When I clicked Orders (see attached picture), there was nothing at all listed for me to access no purchase orders or subscriptions to manage. Given how difficult they have made to manage any subscriptions, coupled with the fact that I contacted them several hours after they money out of my bank account expressing that I had NEVER intended to auto-renew, I do not feel this company has acted fairly or ethically. I purchased a Leetcode Premium subscription for $159 on May 5, 2023. One year later it auto-renewed and I was charged $159 again. Since I had no use for Leetcode anymore, I contacted support on May 13, 2024 to ask for a refund. This was refused:> "We understand that the automatic renewal of your subscription may have come as a surprise. Hello,I forgot to cancel the annual subscription of Leetcode and it got renewed today automatically. I have been a premium member of Leetcode for more than 6months paying $35 a month. On Apr 30th, 2024 they charged me another $35 for the month of May. I reached out to customer service and asked them to cancel and issue a refund. They are refusing to issue a refund for the month of unused service that I told them I dont want.They practice this automatic renewal by default without letting the user pay for 1 month as needed. They are wantedly doing it so that when people forget to cancel they can charge for unused days. This practice is unethical and fraudulent.Same or similar complaints are there in BBB for many years. Date of the transcation: Jan 31st Amount of money I paid: $159 I subscribed to LeetCode yearly membership on Jan 31st *************************************** April 2023. On Jan 31st 2024, they extended the yearly membership without any notifications in advance and charged me another $159. As I said I haven't been using its service since April 2023, so I filed a complaint to LeetCode and requested a refund. However, they only agree to refund $54. Their reason is quoted below:"refunds can only be issued within a specific timeframe, typically within a few days of the initial purchase... we can offer a one time exception by downgrading your annual subscription and billing you based on your used three months subscription which means i'd be refunding $54"First of all, they didn't send me any notifications about extension, I just realized it by myself when checking my bills. Secondly, they charged me more than 2/3 of the total amount for the faked three month usage (which I haven't used their service at all). I paid for a Leetcode subscription starting in November 2022 and ended November 25, 2023. I was then put in an auto renewal and immediately charged $159 to my credit card on November 25, 2023. I no longer need Leetcode premium and haven't used it since Spring 2023, and have contacted Leetcode support to request a refund. I have since canceled the premium membership but I have not heard from Leetcode support about a refund after 5 attempts of trying to contact them.I also did not receive an email stating that my membership would auto renew, because if I would have I would have canceled as soon as I received the reminder.I just want the $159 refunded, that's all, but I can't get Leetcode to respond.Business Response

Today, I was charged around $128 for a yearly subscription without any prior information from Leetcode. It is my humble request to you to cancel my this year's subscription, and refund the subscription charges. If you check, I have not logged into Leetcode for several months now as I don't require it anymore. Moreover, it has not been even 24 hours in this subscription cycle.I would be really grateful if you could refund the amount. I tried changing my email on that system and it always took me to 403 forbidden action taken. How is this even possible? I used the link that Leetcode sent me in the email, and it does not even work.
