My son deactivated his FB account some years ago (**********************************************************), and in June of this year, someone hacked into his account and reactivated it. They have changed the phone number and email address that my son used to access his account when it was active.We have tried every way possible to recover this account. When we try on FB, it just sends us in circles (the email my son used for that account does not work for the recovery). Also, some of my sons FB friends noticed what was going on and tried to report the profile, but they got nowhere as well (I also tried to report the profile and got the same result).This person added pictures of himself in June when he took over the account. He is now posting my sons old pictures on his timeline and acting as him. It is very concerning that someone can pose as someone else without their permission and maybe cause trouble for the person they are impersonating. This person appears to be in the military, and my son has never been in the military.One of my sons friends commented on one of the posts that this person recently posted (stating that it was not my son), and I also commented confirming that it was not my son, and the guy deleted our comments and blocked me. At the time my son deactivated his account, there was no option to delete the account, so he was forced to just deactivate it. He is concerned about what this person will post acting as him. This should be against the law that someone can steal your identity and they have more rights than the person who really owns the account (especially a special needs person). Either give us a way to recover this account or delete his profile. It would not be a concern if this person was not acting as my son. He can do a lot of damage because he has access to all of my sons friends on his friend list. Going through FB has gotten us nowhere. We have tried everything we possibly could.Initial Complaint

Facebook marketplace continues to decline. I have contacted their support several times and I just receive robot responses. They are not allowing our items to be seen so buyers can't purchase. The support continues to tell me that nothing is wrong. Buyers are now complaining that when they want to purchase something they get a blank screen and cannot check out. I'm not sure what the intentions of marketplace are but like I said before, they should either get this fixed once and for all or just get rid of marketplace all together because some people rely on this for their income. I am one of those people. I have over 600 five star ratings and ship my items immediately. I also have a lot of followers. Now they are not being alerted to my listings. Since 2020 Ive been trying recover my old FaceBook account. My account has been deleted by Facebook itself with no explanation and when I try using my email to create a new account I get hit an error stating that this email is linked to a disabled account and when I try login with that same email I get hit with an error stating that this account doesnt exist. On 8/8/2023, my account housed on the **********************'s platform was hacked and taken over. The hacker now has removed my personal information, login credentials and safety measures to access my account and has assumed my identity on this platform. There are 15 years of personal information, one of a kind - priceless - memories, of people lost and mementos, and the company's algorithm (because they have no human contact customer support/service) are controlled by someone with an email address that I have. Their recovery algorithm does not work, it keeps looping with no ability to recover the control of the account. There are thousands of customers of their this has happened to, people having their accounts hacked for use for scamming others out of money and personal information. If they are going to have this platform, they need to have customer support humans that can assist with regaining their customer's personal information, or they are facilitating and conspiring to allow for property and identity theft.Initial Complaint

I have a personal Facebook and a business Facebook that is connected to it. My personal Facebook was hacked and deleted and is unrecoverable. I have done everything that I can to regain access, but the hacker changed the password, the phone number, the email address and I have tried multiple times to reach out to Facebook but they have no customer service. On August 1st, my Facebook account was compromised, with unauthorized changes made to my registered email address, password, and username. Meta (Facebook) has repeatedly blocked the use of my Business Facebook Messenger resulting in a loss of income with no explanation as to why the feature is blocked. I was first blocked for 1 day, then 7 days, and now 30 days with no explanation of why, even after reaching out the the appeals department requesting this information. I currently have clients with whom I am not able to respond to due to the feature block with no other way to reach these clients. I have read the Community Standards thoroughly and am not violating any policies. I have placed paid advertisements via Facebook to build my clientele and now have no personal access to those clients.Initial Complaint

MY facebook account was hacked on ************* looked up a phone number for Facebook .This is the phone number was ************ spoke to ******* he told me by account was hacked and whoever did it was using my identity. He said he would let me know when I could sign on the next dayn he called me and scammed me out of ****** .I still cannot sign on and I want to so I check in and then make sure I deactivate it,I saw Facebook was secure.That's what they would stay.I would please like you to look into with Facebook and get to the root of this problerm. I have made several request to Facebook to delete an old profile of mine because someone hacked it. I also asked the person who hacked it to delete it but they and Facebook both refused. The person who hacked my old account is *************************. I uploaded her FB page. I wouldn't care but it has my personal info on it and the *** web addressee is my last name. I at least want all my info deleted and the *** needs to be changed. The web address is *********************************************** and as you can see she is using my last name.
