When I decided to get electric bikes for my fiancé and myself, it was of upmost importance to also find a rack that could safely carry both bikes on the back of my truck. I searched for weeks at various bike stores and across the internet and finally settled on the ********* RV rack, which claims to safely transport two 80lb bikes. I paid careful attention to make sure both bikes came in under the weight limit, as again, being able to safely transport both bikes was crucial. I picked up the 2022 Murf Alpha on April 15th. I bought the rack on April 16 from Murf Headquarters after finally getting the 2022 Murf Alpha bike I waited 5 months to have built, and have used the rack for the past 3 weeks without issue. The rack was built by the mechanics at Murf headquarters. The main use of it was to get to Trestles to surf.



Yesterday, I was driving on the 5 south going 65mph with my bike in tow and the bike became detached from the rack despite attaching the bike exactly as indicated per the instructions (center clamp and wheel ratchet straps all secure and double checked prior to leaving - I should mention I'm 6'2 and 220lbs with an above average strength level and I ensure the bike is fastened in TIGHT). It's also important to note only my bike was on the rack at this point in time and the 2nd bike was at home. If it weren't for a heavy duty chain I happened to have affixed to the bike/rack, the bike would have completely fallen on the freeway and caused a catastrophic multi-vehicle collision and people would have been seriously injured or dead as a result. Interestingly enough, the person behind me also pulled over and noted they had the exact same problem with their ********* rack. I was also on my way to Trestles to surf



Needless to say, I'm extremely disturbed by this incident and disappointed in my purchase. I'm requesting a full refund for the rack as it is unable to fulfill its advertised use of safely transporting one 80 lb bike, let alone two 80lbs bikes. I
