This company has the worst customer service that I have ever dealt with. Every time you call a different representative answers and you have to repeat what you have called for and told the last dozen representatives that you've spoken with. I supplied my 10 day notice on April 1, ******************************************* the contract. It was agreed that I would continue to have my bank account drafted monthly until the 27% earned contingency fee ( around *******) was satisfied. They refused to this date, 4/15/2024, to provide an exit letter. I have asked to speak with a supervisor and or get a name and phone number of a supervisor and each time have been denied. I am on hold now with them and they say they are waiting for a team lead to get back with them (so far 15 minutes). My advise is DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY. - MORE HARM THAN HELP.

Dear ******************:It appears that a supervisor spoke with you immediately after this post and addressed your concerns. By way of background, you retained our firm on 11/10/2023 to negotiate and settle a *********** for you in the amount of $8,926. On 2/23/2024 we negotiated a settlement on that debt for approximately 50% of the balance owed. After you made 2 payments towards that negotiated settlement, you asked for us to provide a completion letter. Unfortunately, we were not able to provide that because the settlement was not completed. Furthermore, it appears that you obtained a loan to pay the debt in full rather than continue with the settlement, and as a result, we waived that $1,700 for you.

In February 2024, I entered into an agreement with Guardian Litigation Group, commencing payments in March for 3 accounts: Chase, Barclays, and BOA. I have only made 2 payments thus far. I have only received calls/emails/mail from CHASE, accompanied by threats of legal action if further payments are not made promptly.I have turned to Guardian for assistance as outlined in our contract agreement, but their response has been nonexistent. Dealing with Guardian has been a disaster so far. Despite my repeated attempts to engage them regarding the progress of negotiations and how I can contribute to expediting the process, my inquiries have fallen on deaf ears. I have reached out to them numerous times to voice my distress over ******* looming legal threats, going so far as to offer additional funds to expedite a settlement with *****. However, my attempts to communicate with Guardian have yielded no response. Today, 4/11, I had a disheartening conversation with an account manager at ********************, who told me that their program may not be suitable for me since I have the means to contribute funds. This statement left me frustrated. Throughout this ordeal, I have been transparent about my predicament, stressing my inability to cope with the exorbitant interest rates imposed by the banks. I've consistently maintained that I am capable of making payments. The allure of this program stemmed from Guardian's emphasis on its perfect alignment with my specific situationI can afford to pay, but I need assistance managing the mounting interest and the debt that has accrued due to compounded interest. Despite being in default for 3 months now on my payments and facing mounting pressure from Chase, Guardian's response has been disappointing. I lack any evidence of ongoing negotiations with *****, nor have I received any requests for additional funds. Meanwhile, ***** continues to escalate legal threats, and my creditworthiness has plummeted. I don't know what to do at this point.

Thanks for your post, ***. In reviewing your file, we have spoken with you on no less than 9 occasions since you retained our firm on 1/31/24. The time in which creditors settle varies for each client and each situation, but we ask that you please keep in mind that our average first settlement takes place on or about the 4 months after first deposit. It is common practice for creditors to make threats with the goal of collecting additional interest payments and this is why we recommend that our clients leave the flow of communications to us. Based on what we see in your file, we anticipate your first settlement sometime in the next 30=45 days. We understand that you would like to add funds, and we definitely welcome additional funds because that will speed up the process of getting you out of debt. However, timing is everything and when a certain creditor is not ready to settle just yet, it is best to strategically wait. It is going to be tremendously helpful for you to make additional deposits to your savings, and we are very sorry about the call that you had that left you disheartened. That call is going to be reviewed and action will be taken as necessary. In the meantime, we have asked that one of our supervisors reach out to you to review your concerns. They will make some recommendations about the creditor calls and give you some more information on what you can do to help things move along, Rest assured that we are on your side and here to help.

I am following up on my initial complaint and response from GLG. 1) *** did apologize for their account manager's unprofessional approach to my case. They assigned me a new account manager, who has been nothing but wonderful. They also provided me valuable resources to deal with creditor calls. 2) GLG came up with a great settlement with ***** for $5,434.55 to be paid over 4 months. By the time the settlement proposal came in, I already had $1,383 in my escrow account, bringing my monthly payment to $1,012.88 from April to July. I was totally okay with that. However, GLG wanted me to pay the $1,012.88 plus an additional $461.00 per month to cover their performance fees simultaneously.3) I reached out to GLG and explicitly told them I cannot pay almost $1,500 a month. I am in no capacity to do that. The entire reason I reached out to them in the first place was because I am in financial hardship, and it is already difficult for me to come up with the $1,012.88. It is simply not possible for me to pay an extra $461. I requested that GLG bill their performance fee at the end of the settlement with *****, with the understanding that it was always advertised to me throughout the entire process that GLG only bills upon performance or work completed, not upfront. It makes no sense to me why they would charge their performance fees upfront rather than at the end as advertised, and why they would pressure me to pay a substantial amount of extra money that I do not have, especially when I have made it clear that I am in financial hardship. Now, this is where things got murky. When I mentioned to GLG that they had advertised they would not charge their fees upfront, my case suddenly stalled. I started getting scripted responses such as "the negotiators are working on it," etc. They stopped calling me back to offer updates, and I had to chase them for a response. 4)I recently called to get an update and learned that instead of accepting ******* offer, as I had asked, *** decided to renegotiate the settlement with ***** to extend the timeline beyond 4 months. I believe this was done to ensure they could collect their performance fee at the same time I pay *****. As a result of this renegotiation, which was not what I requested, ******* offer expired and we are back to square one.5) A month has passed, and as of now, no settlement has been finalized. ***** is threatening legal action by June 7 if I do not catch up with their exorbitant payments and late fees. Meanwhile, GLG is still internally debating how to approach ***** and **** their performance fee upfront simultaneously. So far, GLG has issued no formal response, and I am under the impression they are dragging it out until I have enough funds in the escrow account to cover both Chase and their performance fees simultaneously, without considering the legal repercussions to me if a settlement is not reached soon. It seems they are more focused on securing their performance fee, which has been brought up at every conversation about the settlement, rather than considering the impact of the lack of settlement on me. My account manager has been an ***** throughout this ordeal, and it is not his fault. The issue lies with GLG negotiators and their bottom line priorities.I understand this is a business, but when they emphasized multiple times before I executed my contract that they work upon performance and do not bill upfront, I believed them. Now, I am the one who is screwed. I owe ***** an exorbitant amount of money in late payments, my credit score is ruined, and no settlement has been reached, not due to ******* lack of cooperation, but due to GLG's negotiators internal practices. Sadly, I am not even allowed to talk directly with the negotiators to understand their side of the story. Please note that this is all from my point of view. I understand that GLG might have a different recollection of events, but at the end of the day, I am the one dealing with ******* legal actions. I am the one legally accountable to *****, I am the one with a ruined credit score, and I am the one who trusted GLG. I have been paying GLG monthly installments without any tangible results to show for their effort. Honestly, I don't know what to do at this point. I am disappointed, frustrated, deflated, hopeless, and extremely scared and worried about what lies ahead. I trusted GLG, and now I feel trapped between a rock and a hard place.
