As a small business owner, I find the process of renewing my website domains VERY frustrating. My account is set to auto-renew and it does not show any details about the number of years or the cost. It seems intentionally so their price does not have to be competitive. When I inquired first by instant message, a customer *** said he could confirm it would renew for 3 years and the only way to get 1 year terms was to add it to my shopping cart. When I called and spoke to another CSR (English is the second language for both CSRs) she said that I would have to renew today to get 1 year or I would have to call back if I wanted to wait until closer to my renewal dates of 8-12 and 8-24. I asked to turn off the auto-renewal and she said she could get approval from her supervisor to do this if I would agree to pay today for the 1 year with added protection. I said no. Why are they so eager to keep pricing and contracts under a veil, it should be transparent and consumer friendly. Not require multiple contacts in customer service.

Our small business was locked out and prevented from editing our site or transferring our domain. **************** promised to fix it multiple times but never did. We allowed charges to continue for a few years b/c we wanted our business info published. When we moved, we were forced to cancel the credit card to stop the charges and lost our domain. Never give them money.

Frustrated is an understatement.I purchased a website builder from @GoDaddy back in March and it has never worked properly. Ive pushed back my launch date multiple times, lost time, money, and momentum all because of a system that constantly crashes, resets, or gives me errors.Every time I reach out, I get a different answer. One person says its my fault, another admits its internal. Ive spent hours redoing work just to end up in the same spot with no ************* a small business owner trying to get my brand off the ground. GoDaddy is literally preventing me from starting.Stay away!

I sent this email and no response. The representative and the "supervisor' and the chat assistant all blamed me. It was unbelievable. I have several websites with Godaddy and never had this issue but the customer service is 1 star for sure. I would like the calls and chat records reviewed. Subject: Request for Service Credit and Compensation Domain: *************** Dear GoDaddy Executive Support,I purchased a hosting plan and domain through GoDaddy for ***************, but my site was unreachable with a 503 error for over 5 days. I contacted support multiple times and was assured it would be resolved, but the issue persisted. This outage significantly impacted my ability to launch my website and undermined the purpose of my purchase.Per your hosting agreement and uptime guarantees, I respectfully request a full credit for the lost days and applicable compensation. I have documented the downtime, attempted resolutions, and failed access. Please advise how you plan to resolve this issue and compensate for breach of service. I was told by representatives that it was my fault. How? I purchased a new Wordpress hosting plan and a new domain. It was installed on Wordpress by a Godaddy representative and it never worked. I continued to get a 503 from day one. I never added any information to the site because I could not get passed this error.

Stay far away from this company. Go on something like PorkBun. I'm surprised they have an "A" of this through the BBB. Here is some malicious practices in their legal agreement: "The websites created using Website Builder or InstantPage are built on and integrated with GoDaddys hosting platform, and any attempt to migrate or otherwise transfer any such website to another hosting provider is a violation of this Agreement." ****************************************************************************************. Meaning that you don't own your website that you pay $203.88 annually for at minimum. We tried to cut the marketing to lower the bill but were told it was required. Technically in web development, this is wrong and you can do SEO yourself. We switched to web hosting economy temporarily and they deleted our site because "it was not the same hosting plan". They overwrote it with their default files and held our files ******. I pointed out several times to the agent that it is technically possible as it is only static website files, there is no server side scripting. They said we had to move back to the other plan or pay for their premium backup because we were outside of the rolling 1 day window. There was nothing from GoDaddy explaining that we would lose our files, there was a lot of gaslighting and arguing over it being technically possible, and a lot of bait and switch and scam tactics trying to up sell me instead of making it right.

On Sunday, June 29, 2025, our nonprofit lost access to our organizational email due to a domain issue. The domain is managed through our GoDaddy account.Because password reset attempts are sent to our non-functioning email address and the backup phone number belongs to a former employee, we are unable to regain account access using **********************'s default recovery options. We contacted GoDaddy support immediately and were told the issue would be escalated and resolved within 24 hours. We then received an email from the Account Recovery Team (***), and submitted the requested government-issued ID the same day.On July 1, we received a request for business documentation. We promptly provided our IRS-issued CP 575 EIN confirmation letter, standard and sufficient documentation for 501(c)(4) organizations. We received no confirmation or update. On July 2, we followed up and received the exact same generic email again, with no acknowledgment of prior communications. We spoke with multiple GoDaddy support agents, all of whom gave us conflicting information. Each admitted they were unable to reach ART internally, with one stating that their chat said that the department was closed (at 2:30 pm).On July 3, we were advised by an agent who had finally been able to reach the ART department via chat that ART stated they had not received any documents. We resent the forms and ended the call once the agent confirmed that the documents had been received. Minutes later, we received the same generic email again from ART requesting additional documentationno additional context regarding the submitted docs, no acknowledgments of reciept, and no resolution. We are now on day five of a total email disruption, which is impacting communications with donors, partners, and internal systems. Unfortunately, despite multiple submissions and confirmed receipt of our documents, the Account Recovery Team has failed to take action or provide any additional information on next steps.

GoDaddy, LLC is a registrar of domain names for the public. GoDaddy does not follow the rules set forth in ***** regarding how RHP and *** work. Or instead, the guidelines set by ***** are lax and GoDaddy just uses their own calendar system to do pretty much whatever they wish with an expired domain. If your domain name goes past the 30-day RHP **** (holding period) and exceeds 5 days (the *** or ***** period) they are still allowed to hold on to your old domain name indefinitely, or transfer the name to another registrant if they want. I find this absolutely unacceptable. It is greed on their part, pure and simple. All I did on my end was forget to turn on the auto-renew feature -- I forgot to re-register the old domain name by the deadline. Two months have already elapsed while GoDaddy has kept the credentials for my old domain name in their back-end system or annex and out of my reach. Using a GoDaddy broker to sell the domain name back to me is to me a gray area of online activity by way of doing a regular transaction. Who really owns the domain name at this point in time? I don't think anyone in ***** is able to properly answer that straightforward question. I will not be doing business with these people ever again. This is marginally dishonest to the point of being outright deceptive.

ZERO Star Review Scammy, Incompetent, and Life-Disrupting : Avoid at All Costs I am beyond furious and upset with the way GoDaddy handles (or rather DOESNT handle) their services and customer support. Their entire system is a predatory scam designed to waste your time, overcharge you, and ultimately sabotage your business. The service I PAID for never worked properly: emails never went out, credits disappeared without explanation, and worst of all, their platform never even flagged that campaigns failed. I only found out because a client happened to mention they never received anything. After the first year, they start tacking on hidden charges and upselling you on pointless tiers that dont fix anything. All they do is keep you tangled in endless 2448 hour review periods that go nowhere. Meanwhile, you get no follow-up emails, no real accountability, and no resolution.I have spent countless hours on the phone, hours that cost me business and made me late for my own clients. All this just trying to get them to do the bare minimum of what I paid them to do. Even though I never got it! They expect me to give up my personal email address for their broken system to work, which is unacceptable and ************** make matters worse, their system is full of bugs. My patients couldnt even reply to my emails, and some ended up in spam, which completely destroyed any chance to coordinate care. This is not just sloppy: its unethical.Three days wasted. Zero patience left. You have literally disrupted my business and professional life, and Im not going to stand by while you keep ripping people off.Avoid GoDaddy if you value your time, your sanity, and your business. This company is a disgrace.

******** worst hosting company on the internet!! If I could leave negative stars I would. I have 4 emails total on the server, 3 of them haven't worked in over a year. When I called to cancel, they would not consider giving even a partial refund. Absolutely pathetic. It is so bad, it would have to improve to be terrible. They can clearly see in the emails that I haven't used them in over a year. ******** overseas customer service. If they paid me to continue with the service, I would still not consider it. You're continually locked out of your account for any number of reasons. There is tremendous trouble with logging in. I have several screen shots trying to log into my account and they still don't take that into consideration. Save your business, time, and money and consider ANYTHING but this web host. Terrible.
