I have been a customer of ****************** for over 3 years, using their Dedicated Server hosting services to manage 13 websites. Recently, without warning, Namecheap caused a complete data loss on my server, resulting in the loss of all websites, associated data, and years of hard work. Despite my timely payments and fulfilling my responsibilities as a customer, ******************'s negligence led to this issue.Details of the Problem:I discovered that all of my 13 websites were offline, and I could not access my server. Upon contacting Namecheap support, I was informed that my data had been compromised and/or deleted due to an internal error on their part. The lost data includes $8,000 in investments made over the last 3 years, which went into developing and marketing these websites. The websites generated $500 per month in revenue through platforms like AdSense and other ad networks.Namecheap offered an apology and 2 years of free hosting as compensation, which does not address the critical issue: the complete loss of 3 years' worth of data. Offering free hosting without restoring the data or providing proper compensation is unacceptable.I have requested full financial compensation of $8,000 to cover the loss of my development investments.Attempts to Resolve the Issue: I have repeatedly communicated with Namecheap, asking for either data restoration or full compensation for my losses. However, they have only offered 2 years of free hosting, which I have rejected as it does not account for the data loss and business disruption.Desired Outcome: I seek full compensation of $8,000 for the data loss and investment I made into my business, as Namecheap's negligence is the sole cause of this damage. Why this is Important: Namecheap's failure to secure my data has not only disrupted my business but also led to significant financial and emotional stress. I am filing this complaint to seek fair compensation and to ensure that Namecheap takes responsibility for its actions.Initial Complaint

I paid Namecheap for two domain transfers but did not receive the services as expected. Despite multiple requests, Namecheap has refused to issue a refund. On September 14, 2024, I paid $10.16 for the transfer of the domain **************** (Order #*********, Transaction ID: ********** using my credit card. I paid the same amount again on September 17, 2024 (Order #*********, Transaction ID: ********** via funds in my Namecheap account. The transfer has not been completed, and Namecheaps support team acknowledged there was an issue with the transfer of the domain. Despite assurances that they are working on resolving the problem, no solution has been provided, and I am still without the service I paid for. After raising this matter through support tickets (Ticket ID: **************, I was informed on September 17, 2024 that no refunds would be issued, and the case was closed without a satisfactory resolution.Initial Complaint

In June of 2024, my domain expired. I received the regular notifications about the expiration, but had to delay renewing due to financial constraints. Some time later, within the 30 day grace ******* I attempted to renew my domain, but namecheap reported the price as double what I expected. Due to the previously mentioned financial constraints, I could not renew at that time. On Aug 18 2024, I once again attempted to renew the domain only to find the price had again increased significantly, this time due to entering "redemption status." In seeking to clarify the situation, I learned that the doubled price I had been shown previously was in fact an error on Namecheap's part. After much back and forth with customer service, I was informed that though entering redemption status was effectively due to namecheap's error, they could not waive the redemption fee, but would be willing to discount it by $10, which leaves the price still significantly higher than it should have been when I tried to renew it during the grace ******* My options now are to wait for the domain to reenter the public pool (at which time there is no guarantee I can repurchase it), or pay more than quadruple the original price.Initial Complaint

On 8/6/24, I registered a domain name with Name Cheap for a virtual business I was starting. After purchasing the domain name, I submitted a request for a refund within the same business day. NameCheaps Dashboard is clunky, confusing, and it does not streamline the website building process. I submitted a refund request via email and received a standardized reply informing me the email was received. I did not receive any follow up until 8/16/24, after initiating a conversation with a live chat agent. The live chat agent and I were interrupted, and I received an email from the company indicating they cannot shut down the domain name and issue me a refund as I made the request 120 hours after the purchase. I kindly reminded them that I sent an email the same day the domain name was purchased requesting a refund, which never received a response. This company seems really shady, and fraudulant. I would not recommend doing any sort of business with them. They have charged me weird $.10 fees here and there, which alerts me that this place is a scam.Initial Complaint

My domain name was stolen. I always set my domain names to auto-renew and make sure my debit card information is up to date. However, my domain name CompleteUSAHistory.com was taken off of auto renew and expired - allowing another person/company to purchase the domain name. It is now on the market for over $800.Initial Complaint

ENDLESS spam email, some advertising, some phishing. Nearly 100% of the junk email I get is from domains hosted by NameCheap, and its and endless barrage. I copy the headers and report the abuse, NameCheap responds 25% (or less) to my reports by means of a report ticket, but never a follow- up or resolution. Are all of their registrants spammers or phishers? These people are genuine (deleted). Ive saved a large numbers of my complaint emails and their scant responses.Initial Complaint

I have had Namecheap for years, and they have been great with domains and hosting. However, recently I also have their *** service with Fast *** and their end is having server issues. I do technical support for a career, so I know it is not on this end, but on their end and servers. The *** service has worked great for years. However, in the last two days, they have had intermittent issues with their servers not allowing people to connect to them with the Fast *** App most of the time. When using several different devices and different operating systems one being Windows and the other Linux Zorin, the same error occurs after about a minute of trying to connect to their servers. It says, Connection error something went wrong. and does not say what went wrong. I contacted their support chat several times, but they seem to not like to blame their servers as they provide troubleshooting things that I already tried but does not resolve the issue. Chat support is at least trying to assist, but they dont understand it is not on this end but on their end of the server. Yesterday evening their servers finally allowed connections again then quickly went out hours later. This tells me that it is their side of things as why would it work a little bit and then cut out again without anything different going on on this side of things. It again is not allowing people to connect today. I would just like someone at Namecheap to contact their Fast *** server company and have them fix the server issue so I can use the system again. In another issue with Fast ***, one of the ***************** doesnt even allow the program to run. When going online, it seems to be an update issue and I would require a link to an older version, but Namecheap doesnt have links of older versions of Fast*** on their website. Could someone at Namecheap have FastVPn fix their server connections errors. Thanks.
